Sonakshi's fear- Ishwari's trumpcard?

I had the exact same reactions as all of the fandom to yesterday's episode but I do have a perspective now.. the post is long but do read and comment since its a different take on yesterday's episode

I got thinking about the episode and remembered this dialogue of Sona's from her scene with Dev in their room - Dev, aapko kuch nahin pata hai, kya aapko pata hai ki dar lagna bandh ho gaya tha..

That is where the rest of the episode and the rest of the week/next week is going to head.. let me explain...

Sonakshi knows that Dev came back to her because of Ishwari.. she knows that she is a toy that Ishwari gave back to Dev after seeing how upset/broken he was after she left him. She took him back and married him knowing very well the power Ishwari has over their relationship

This fear of Sona's has never been explicitly shown but is the crux of her relationship now. Sona still lives in fear that Ishwari has immense power over her husband.

After the initial outburst of finding out Dev's lies, Sona realises that the alternate reality that Dev created (false pregnancy) showed her a side of Ishwari that she did not expect to ever see.. caring for her, loving her almost to the point of obsession over Dev. Although she resents Dev for lying to her, I think it quickly strikes her that they can make this a reality.

This is the craziest parallel we have seen. Dev wanted to convert this into reality by medicating Sona (thank god that did not happen.. we would have butchered the CVs), now Sona realises that if she quickly gets pregnant, all of this can be changed back to the current situation where Ishwari continues to love Sona and Dev equally.

I know a lot of us felt like Sona recovered too quickly.. I feel so too, but remember she does not know that she cannot conceive yet when she tells Dev that she is ready. According to her, this is just a failed attempt (or rather accident) that can now be changed. Its not the rational Sona speaking here, it is the one that is still scared of the power than Ishwari has. Her actions and reactions are all driven by fear. She wants to give Ishwari grandkids so that she can be assured of her love and more importantly her place in Dev's life.

Its still to be seen how Sona will react to the infertility news.. I dont think she will breakdown, Dev had also not broken down during the separation. He took care of Ishwari (which was making our blood boil) and then we saw the reality hit him.

I am sure Sona's emotions are still simmering after the infertility news, they will surely reach a boiling point. That will be when her worst fears come true- that Ishwari can yet again pull a sleeping pill/ low BP/ Flashback episode and take away her love from her. What Dev will do in all this, I am eager to see!

PS: I know the writers changed from Dec and we are all getting agitated, but I think we were more agitated with the tracks that came before that change.. Jhoola, birthday, dadi bua.. these ones seem much much better. I prefer Ayan getting beaten up anyday to Dadi bua and the Jhoola drama😕

PPS: I am so amused that our fandom is so emotional, one day we are making 20 posts on one scene and the next day, we are all ready to throw stones at the CVs for the way another scene is handled. I have hardly seen shows that generate this kind of turmoil in real people's minds. No matter what we say, the CVs are doing something right I guess 😉

This fear has always been in their relationship. Even when they were dating. Sonakshi know what position Ishwari holds in Dev's life and how can she manipulate (unconsciously and consciously both) the situations. She has seen all. Although she has never been vocal about her fears but her actions has always justified them. Its not like she only want kids for Ishwari, but yes this baby would have mended the relationship and removed all her fears.

for how long these relationships, actions, based on fear will survive is a big question. Dev and sonakshi will only grow when they will accept this fear and fight with it together. Otherwise not only ishwari they themselves will do blunders with their relationship.

Personally I felt that the infertility track is misconstrued by many. To me I always felt that Sona will eventually get pregnant but with complications. That 7% chance got to mean something...its not there for nothing right...but its how they are going to build and shape the story around it and how the various relationships evolves among the trio leads to positivity

This has nothing got to do with IVF treatment or surrogacy coz thats not going to happen. That hicky night is also there for a reason. It was the night perhaps a baby was conceived but its too early now to tell as it happend just a few days ago ...😆

What I think will happen, is Sona will get pregnant and she will know the risk of carrying the child full term. Docs might advise her to abort the baby as it might risk her life.

But having seen how this child means to all of them, it might be Sona's turn to hide the truth from the family , that is the risk of bearing a child...

This could be the turning point for Dev's realization of god's power and Iswari reformation.

1) Dev will realize maybe at the point of labour that Sona life is in danger. Save baby or mother. And he would go and kneel down infront of god to show him mercy and seek forgiveness and save his child and sona. The man who refused to bow down will now have no choice but to do it and his faith in god is reinstated

2) Iswari would realizes that Sona has risked her life just to give her the child and perhaps this would be the time she reforms totally feeling shame and horror at what she put Sona through.

This is just my perspective...anything can happen . let's see..

Like all of you, I am also trying to make sense of this Ishu situation and Sona's character. Sona telling Dev that she is ready sounded off to us, but if we empathise with Sona, its like she has tasted the sweetness of Ishu and she knows that the only way to get it/retain it is to get pregnant.. sad but true with a MIL like Ish 😕

U have made a very valid point.

Though never shown in an explicit way but since the marriage has happen we have seen a very different Sonakshi.

Dev himself pointed out to her that she has taken best bahu peagent way too seriously.
The reason is obvious Sona knows no matter how much Dev loves her, he will never stand by her if Ishwari is against her.

She was so overwhelmed by yhe care shown by Ishwari that she in a moment she forgot the pain of not being pregnant but looked at the positive side that now she wants to bcum mother fast.

But what is bothering me is the precap. News of infertility is a biggest nightmare a couple can go thru.

Till date Dev had gone thru this pain alone. Infact he never got time to live this pain. It was first time Dev and Sonakshi could live this pain together. A women would be shaytered if she comes to know she cannot bcum a mother. I seriously think CVs should have given atleast 1-2 days to Devakshi to live thru this pain just among themselves. Where Sonakshi talking about her incompleteness as a woman and Dev supporting her but precap showed that Sonakshi was talking about Ishwari's disappointment. And Ishwari overhearing this converstation and then the Mandir drama

Trust me it looked so unnatural. CVs have really undermined pain of a couple not able to bcum parents in front of a lady not able to bcum grandmother

Very nice to see this post.

But still my complaint is with the dialogues and screenplay when it comes to Sona.Her understanding of Ish's power is always overpowered by her Maa chant especially nowadays.

The CVs should definitely give more screenspace to Sonas fears than show the nonsense scenes of RR and Neha.

A movie or serial is visual medium,not everyone would dig that deep.

Even i felt the same,she wants to have a place in Dixit mansion,anyhow,so why not use her own uterus.

But let me ask you,Isnt it sad that a woman who is extremeley matured,sensible and selfless is eventually just judged/loved based on a functioning uterus.

Are relationships so fickle and superficial that they need the umbelical cord to strengthen it??

Guess it is so ...Really pathetic.

I always thought of this show as a path breaker ...Well not much hope now.

It would have been helpful if they have showed a much more profound Sona,who understands the unhealthy(yet empathises) with the aspects of Ish's obsessive love.

Heck its not love,but a straw Ish desperately holds own to salvage her identity.

But here in this show,its constantly glorified.

Hi,

I completely agree with your post and point. This track is totaly base on the Dev and sona's fear for losing each other. and Ishu's insularity, her passiveness and selfishness and more importantly showing her true face to Dev and sona. Dev and sona decision to fight for there relation. And completely agress with your point that in the breakup track when dev done the brakup we all

where angry on dev but with the next episodes we were crying with him. In case of sona same thing happens when we say the parasitical person is strong meas he will not react as you are expecting.

And some how I am not surprise that sona is thinking about the ishu's happiness. as the writer are changed we fell that they have changed the track but not. If you remember when dev imaged the sona's reaction it is same reaction he has imaged. If you have seen the dev's reaction on the sona's medical condition he was more varied about sona then himself. This is the disadvantage of being selfless you think for the other person first and the about you. I think now dev and sona will communicate with each other and share there fear with each other and fight for it.

One suggetion to CV's make the madhu is a psychiatrist so afterwords we can treat ishu. and before that she can help the dev and sona to understand and overcome there fear.

And please bring the prenup and early as possible. and this should be seen by dev first. Do you remember dev's some clothes are in Ishu's cupboard.

And for some day's send the sona to bose house.
