When Aneet revealed about her grandfather suffering from Alzheimer

Aneet Padda, who portrayed an Alzheimer's patient in her film Saiyaara, once shared that her grandfather was battling the disease. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India last year, she said, “My dadu has Alzheimer’s disease, which is why the film was even more emotional for me. He’s at a point now where he doesn’t remember most things, but I believed in this film because it says ‘dimaag bhool jaata hai par dil kabhi nahi bhoolta (the mind forgets but the heart does not)’, and that’s very true for my dadu. He doesn’t remember my name; he doesn’t remember most, but he calls me Heeraput, or Makkhan."

She explained that as her film was approaching its release, she worried her grandfather wouldn't recognize her or remember the movie. Because he was bedridden and unable to attend a theater, her parents showed him videos related to the film. He reacted with a smile, calling her "Heeraput" and referring to the movie as "Makkhan di movie," an experience she found very special.
