6 Supporting Roles Who Overshadowed The Lead Characters In Bollywood Films

Many times, you may not take to a film wholly, but you certainly take notice of characters and the actors who play them. We know about several films where the supporting actors did a fabulous job, and stole the show from the lead characters. Here's a look at some actors who simply overshadowed the lead characters in Bollywood movies.

Priyanka Chopra in Bajirao Mastani

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra nailed the character of Kashibai in the movie, Bajirao Mastani. You can say that her screen presence was even stronger than Ranveer Singh, who played Bajirao. Deepika, who was the leading lady of the film, was also sidelined by Priyanka's brilliant performance.

Anushka Sharma in Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Anushka Sharma

Although Katrina Kaif was the leading star opposite Shah Rukh Khan, in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, we think it was Anushka Sharma's portrayal of her character that stole the limelight from Katrina.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Badlapur

Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan did a marvellous playing the character of a shattered man, who loses his family due a bank robbery, in the movie Badlapur. But in spite of his brilliance, he could not beat Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Nawaz clearly stole the limelight from Varun.

Parineeti Chopra in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl

Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti started her career playing a supporting character in the film, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. Although Anushka was playing the lead character in the movie, Parineeti made her presence felt every time she came on screen. Her bubbly, cute presence left a lasting impression on the audience.

Paresh Rawal in Hera Pheri

Paresh Rawal stuck out like a charm in the movie Hera Pheri. Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar did a great job too, but Paresh's comic timing was unbeatable.

Sunny Deol in Damini

Sunny Deol

You remember the movie Damini for the dialogue tarikh pe tarikh, as screamed by Sunny Deol in the court room scene? He wasn't part of the film in the beginning, but came in the later half, before the climax, and had the audience enthralled. He took away all attention from Rishi Kapoor, who was the lead actor of the film.

He was the lead, or parallel lead. Sunny Deol was the supporting actor.

Also Paresh Rawal in Hera Pheri is not supporting actor he is one of the three leads, no wonder Indian journalists and award makers don't know anything about category.

Srk was not the lead, he just stole the show.

Srk in Darr had just as much role as Anushka did in JTHJ

Nawazudeen in Bajrangi Bhaijan. Well, technically, he didn't "overshadow" SK, but made his presence equally felt.
