There was no rock music in the movie. only actual rock(or rock folk mix) was Hoi Kwi song which was a Khasi-Hindi song, and that song was the best song of the movie IMO. Rock On 2 failed because movie ignored the integral part of the original which was the friendship theme. Here they had the "prashiyatap" theme which ruined the movie. The only good moments in the movie was when the three friends aka Adi, KD and Joe were together chuckling jokes and discussion.

Too long of a gap between the movie and sequel. Not enough buzz or word of mouth. Rock On was a sleeper hit because it was refreshing and had a story people related to. Rock On 2 does not have that aura.
