I didn't even know there was such a movie called Parched. To be perfectly honest I only found out about it because news of nude scenes of Radhika Apte in the movie I watched it on google play, I was like even if I don't like it it's only $3.99. I saw it and loved it. There are amazing performances by all the actors. The story is amazing. It's a story of 4 women's life journey If you want to watch something out of the ordinary do watch it.

Issues:
1) It's never the men's fault. It's never Gulab's fault. It's his wife's fault for not keeping him engaged at home. It's Lajjo who must be infertile. It can't be her husband.

2) Also shows how women themselves propagate the internalized oppression. Best showcased by Rani's relationship with her friend Bijili. And how Rani allows her son to do the same things her husband did to her.

women sometime consider herself as less of a human
like how many housewife teach their son to cook
its always their daughters
and they expect their bahus to do the same
so ya they themselves are to be blamed for their sons thinking

Men need to learn how to behave with women through Parched: Ajay Devgn

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn says his upcoming production venture Parched is a relevant film, which should be seen by men to learn how to treat women in society.

Directed by Leena Yadav, Parched stars Radhika Apte, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Surveen Chawla in lead roles.

Presenting PARCHED...18Awards, 24 Intl. film festivals across continents. Releasing 23rd Sep Trailer on 9th Sep. pic.twitter.com/tsxiU778qE

" Ajay Devgn (@ajaydevgn) September 4, 2016

"This film is not just about women... It is also about men to learn. It's society's pressure, I would say, which forces men to do the things they do, apart from the mindset...

"From the film, there is nothing much that women need to learn about what is happening with them. I feel men need to learn what women are, and how to behave with them," the actor told reporters at the trailer launch.

Parched traces the tale of four women who struggle with their individual boundaries to face their demons and stage their own personal wars. The movie has ready travelled to several film festivals aboard and won a lot of acclaim as well as top honours.

The 47-year-old Singham actor said it is sad they couldn't start the film's journey by first releasing it in India but hopes it gets the same reception here a it got in the West.

"It is very sad, because though the issue is universal, the film is of our country. It is very sad that instead of starting with India, we had to start from abroad, because there is audience there which accepts such films.

"From there, the film has travelled and reached here. We hope the film is accepted here too. The myth that only typical commercial films work, that needs to be broken by the audience," he added.

Parched is scheduled to release on September 23.
