Why are people holding just the women accountable?
What about savior of the nation Mr. SMJ, will he be accountable?
What about Farhaan Akhtar who is a HeForShe representative, will he be accountable?
Also if you never claimed to be a feminist, do you get a free pass to support or ignore rape jokes?

Madhuri ... lol rehna nahin hai kya India mein ?

When Ash had spoken against this abusive scumbag, was action taken against him? Did the industry or the police take any action?
She shd have reported him to police for beating her up, but then her career would have ended, thanks to Salman's underworld connections as he had threatened her with those consequences over the phone. As it is, her career suffered because of her breakup with this scumbag, she lost some movies because of his vindictive string pulling in the industry.

I should have said "trivializes rape" instead of "rape joke". Incorrect verbiage there.

And btw, youre supposed to be supporting free speech and not censor it under a democracy...if you have supported the rights of tanmay, srk and Amir ,  if you have spoken against the gov banning po*n telling them to back off and not moral police then there is no harm in extending a little support to salman as well...it will help India not turn into Saudi Arabia!

I do support free speech. Salman Khan has the right to say what he wants. Anyone who wants legal action against him is in the wrong.

Free speech does come with consequences. Not legal consequences, but social and moral ones. Everyone criticizing Salman and demanding apology is also exercising free speech.

A Hindu is offended and criticizes PK - that's free speech.
A Hindu is offended and files an FIR against PK - that violates Amir's free speech

People are offended and express disgust against AIB Roast - that's free speech
People are offended and file an FIR against AIB Roast - that violates AIB's free speech

similarly

People are offended and condemn Salman for his statement - that's free speech
People are offended and file an FIR against Salman - that violates Salman's free speech

Barring some extreme situations filing charges and supporting legal action, I do not see anyone here who actually violates Salman's free speech. No one is issuing a cease and desist. He has full rights and freedom to be as big of an asshole as he wishes to be. People also have rights to call out an asshole and not support him.

Neither Tanmay, SRK, nor Amir trivialized rape.
Rape is where I draw the line and Salman crossed the line. I do not see any inconsistency.

SRK and Amir even if bit weird (considering they are celebs with so much power) made very valid points. No matter how much we try to deny, but India, like rest of world is suffering from religious intolerance and politicians are exploiting it.
SRK's statement was really misused, his main point was putting country over religion and people concentrate more on "extreme intolerance " part.
