These days I've been noticing that Kunj and Twinkle wear either matching colors or complimentary colors. For example, during yesterday's episode Twinkle wore a bright green anarkali with a navy blue dupatta while Kunj wore a navy blue button down with his white shirt and pants.

First of all, I think the colors worked well with portraying the emotions surrounding the episode. The is of the episode was that Twinkle was jealous and Kunj was attempting to pacify her. Green represents a sense of possessiveness and envy so I think it was pretty cool that she ended up wearing a green dress. More specifically, she had a pale/lime green dress and those hues of green are usually connected to inexperience and naivety. Twinkle is just drawing close to Kunj so her feelings of such jealousy are understandable. Often times, a couple that has been together long does not have such insecurity or anger towards others. Of course, there is possessiveness but they usually know that their partner would never seriously betray them. Kunj had on white under his navy blue button down. The white represents innocence and helping alleviate emotional upsets which is exactly what Kunj was doing.

Another thing I noticed was that Mahi is usually seen in salwar kameez's with a polka-dot dupattas but Twinkle, too, had a similar pattern on during Antakshri. Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese polka dot artist. She said, "A polka-dot has the form of the sun, which is a symbol of the energy of the whole world and our living life, and also the form of the moon, which is calm. Round, soft, colorful, senseless and unknowing. Polka-dots become movement... Polka dots are a way to infinity." I think her quote can let us easily contrast the personalities of the two sisters with Twinkle being the Sun and giving off happiness, warmth while Mahi is the moon as she is calmer and unknowing. Also is just the overall colors that Mahi and Twinkle wear. Maxi is seen in darker colors while Twinkle is seen in lighter. Everyone already knows the associations with this colors and work well to portray the personalities of each.

Aisa ho sakta hai ki mai ek post banao aur mere Yuvi ki baat na karu? During the Antakshri scene, he wore a black shirt under his grey jacket. I think it contrast well with how Kunj wore white and he wore black- it differentiates between their desires and behaviors. Color psychologists say that those who like gray like to protect yourself from the chaotic outside world, even to the point of isolating yourself from others, leaving you with the feeling that you don't really fit in or belong anywhere. And that fits well with Yuvi especially with how he smiled for the first time when Twinkle sang. Moreover, no matter what colors he has on inside, he always has grey on outside so I think that can signify that he will always remain a grey character. Speaking of Yuvi, during the recap when he was destroying the date, he wore orange. Orange relates to 'gut reaction' or our gut instincts, as opposed to the physical reaction of red or the mental reaction of yellow. Orange offers emotional strength in difficult times. It helps us to bounce back from disappointments and despair, assisting in recovery from grief. Yuvi believes he has succeeded in separating Twinkle and Kunj hence his colors work.

Omg yes on so many levels! The color combinations during the Antakshari scene for Twinj really spoke to me too 😆 The complimentary-ness added to the scene's beauty but your explanation of the meaning of green and white omg, it was so on point. Naivety and inexperience literally defines their relationship haha. And wow I didn't know all that about polka dots, I like how they are giving us such subtle connections between the sisters (be it that they both like SRK or their behavior haha).

Omg I've been thinking about Yuvi and his colors! He often wears grey and I'm like wow literal representation of how grey he is! But thank you for sharing your analysis because it makes so much sense. Brilliant as always! 😳
