Tomahawk & Turkey

She made dosas for Nivi and her and Ranjan, the girls played with Ranjan
they read together on the bed, well Nivi read II was on the ipad watching Tamil songs
Sahana was as disruptive as she could be having a gala time rolling on the bed, over her big sister
II caught her and coached her to say
"NIVI KA"
In her pink body suit, she looked good enough to eat

All her hair restraints long lost... her curly mess of a hair all over her face

"NIVIKA"

She listed patiently sitting across II's belly and and gurgled
Dropping a tube of drool
II hugged her tight

"SAHANA"
She paused and stared...

"Hey Ive heard that one before"

"RAKSHASI" II whispered softly

Sahana laughed heartily as if II tickled her

II repeated it a million times
Watching her in awe as went beserk enjoying being called that

"She likes that no?" Nivi said, chucking her book, unable to concentrate

"Ival daane?... she IS a rakshasi" (u are asking abt her right?) II crushed her viciously

Sahana was basically playdough allowing herself to be balled up

She lay on her back and tried to suck her fabric covered toes
II just pressed her cheek on that fat face

Sahana held it with both hands and cooed on her face

"U think I AM your baby?" II whispered

Nivi laughed heartily

II layback watching her daughters play
They curled up and slept at 10 ish, much later than Nivi's bed time

When he returned soon after he paused by the bed

"His three angels curled up on their sides"
Nivi and II on the side, Sahana with her fat arm over her cheek just like II

He bend down softly over his wife and inhaled near her cheek, hestood staring

The boys came up chattering and squealing (they SERIOUSLY had no bed time!!)

Sahana sat up as if an alarm went off in her head... WIDE AWAKE chattering back to them

Nivi moaned
II sat up startled

R&B had to turn on the bdeside lamp
"Padu dee' (lay down) II ordered to her fatso in a husky voice

Nope!! She climbed over II and stood on her abdomen rocking precariously wanting to be picked up by Daddy

"Amma I got thomak" Ved showed a box with a "Tomahawk" label

"Yennada... did u go to a rebel war lord's house or what?" II lamented

The boys climbed over her

R&B stepped away with his baby

"Hey Sam sent turkey, someone had got for her from the US... can I make u a sandwich?" II asked hiding
behind the shield of her kids hoping he would answer cheerfully and they can quietly slide from war to peace... unnoticed

"I am good... its fine" he said only turning partially to meet her gaze, as if he saw her wholly, those eyes would kill his resolve to be indifferent and cold
That soft Iyer face scrubbed clean of make up, that red ruby nose ring, the "Mom worry crease" on her forehead
He dug it all...
And didnt have to see... but heard her slump back on the headboard... defeated

BUT BUT BUT...
YOU LOVEEE TURKEY

HOW CAN U SAY NO TO TURKEY SANDWICH?
I MEAN...
U LOVE TURKEY SANDWICH MORE THAN U LOVE ME NO?
HOW COULD U SAY NO IT?😭

"I can wake Nivi, and take her downstairs" she tempted him again

He bristled... not so much at her attempts to make peace but at his own weakness, of not being able to hold on longer to his feelings of hurt.

"I am going to the sun room" he said as he walked away

The boys curled up where Sahana lay before and she sat up staring at the wall across.

B II is already thinking that she has been rejected, dude is being cold and indifferent jabtak he doesnt blow off the entire steam - perfect scenario for a huge huge blowup ,a potential breeding ground for II to do something really drastic - says my evil mind which wants to create trouble so that the make up can be even more fantastic.
