Love in a cup
Appa relaxed on the sofa
The boys jumped on II's bed, Amma lay down with them "attempting" to make them take a nap
"Cam me stay heeya" (Can we stay here) they begged her
Laying on Amma's squishy belly
One coughed and the other sniffled
Amma's heart went out to her own kozhandai
She didnt like to side with Appa but had to admit, R&B's back and forth and II raising the 4 wasnt an ideal situation
She was afraid to push II also
Many in her friends circle... (only 5 betwen school colleagues and bhajan mandli) their kids had separated or divorced
Amma feared II forcing him to return or throwing a fit may not yield good results
She liked R&B a lot
Quiet, polite and charming
He seemed to feversihly love their daughter, II, Amma saw it in his eyes
II craved to be with him just after spending one night at Rohini
Sid slowed down and kicked his leg, cooing to himself Amma dragged him over her chest and patted him
"Paatti, I mant pos pickle Paati I mant pos pickle" Ved punched the bed
"Mant um ille pant um ille, padu da" (lay down) Amma whispered
He wasnt happy
"I mant to sweep on ur thoppe" (lay on ur belly) Ved whined
Amma didnt know what II did when both craved for her touch
OR ALL FOUR!
"Ayyo paavam" Amma cooed to her invisible daughter in compassion
Somehow, after a herculean effort she got both to start sleeping
Appa unable to sleep peeked in
And smiled WIDEE
"Sema vaala irukanga toongarche ethana sadhu... avana madiri... kanla kurumbu" (how naughty they are when awake, look at them now, such sad creatures, they match their Dad R&B's expressions, wily guy)
Appa couldnt let an opp to knock R&B pass by
Amma grunted
"U go to that room naa pathukaren" (I will watch) he sat on the foot of the bed
Amma shook her head lovingly
"Can u imagine, we always thought she will marry late or never marry... she will always say... after Subbu, na indathlaye iruken Ma" (I will stay here only no)
"Now he doesnt even send her for two hours" Appa grit his teeth
Amma giggled "Wud u prefer her to be here?"
"No... not when I look at these two... so innocent... I was paying at Mother Dairy for milk Sid wanted money I gave him a Rs, 20 bill he says
"I am wich I have ome humdred" (I am rich I am have 100) Appa laughed heartily, his soft aging body shook
"they dont know anything di" Appa said
"They have so much money" Amma sighed
"They didnt ask for anything, no toys, no snacks nothing" Appa choked up
"Chamathu na rendum" (they are so well behaved) Amma said smugly
Appa lifted the edge of his veshti and wiped under his glasses and nodded furiously in agreement, though he was al choked up

Ii took a nap on the first floor first time make out day bed
Nivi lay by her reading a book
Sahana? Well who knew where she was, between Ranjan and R&B
Mahavir wandered the lawn sadly not sure what to do with all the safety he felt
He was getting used to being threatened and living in fear
At night when he was back in his room (at times his family visited his wife and son shared the apartment)
he pretended to be one of those cool super heroes(from the shows the twins watched )and played self defense games with the other househelp
But none made him stronger
The boys always took him by surprise
They spoke to him in rapid fire English that was all gibberish
"Wiw u open the dough."😆
Ved spoke chapters like II
He wud begin at his play school wave his arms and legs to describe some thrilling situation, talk about daddee Dadu... and end at "Amma toaded me u cam give me thuff.".. he wud begin
At the end of it Mavvy looked up at II seeking help
"Ek cup mein kuch de do aap usko" 🤣II's standard response after listening to Mavvy's appeal of being helpless in trying to
decipher Ved's "book narration"
He will then fill a cup with some snack and hand it to the kid
Ved will take it and nod
"AHH!! MOTHERS!!" Mavvy wud look at II in awe
She didnt have any time to figure out what he wanted, her easy solution was a cup with "stuff"
R&B wud half smile
What wud it to take to get laid... and if he could deploy Sid's tactic and speak a page or
two and see if it resulted in mid morning sex during weekends
She only spoke to him on weekends when the kids drove her insane
He brought a blanket to drape her with and took Nivi with him

"Umm... she will be OK" he whispered
