"Because it cant be DAD" she said firmly
Sending a sharp stab of anger mixed with jealousy... she believes Ranjan cannot hurt anyone?
She was willing to offer unquestionable trust to Ranjan but not HIM?

Or did he spin some unbelievable tale for her?

He sat down and began wearing his ear plug as he lifted a paperback lying on the side
"U are completely unconcerned about anything in this house" she accused
He didnt respond, just too irritated, at her unwillingness to even give him a chance to defend himself
"I doubt u wud behave this way if Tan came" she reminded
He yanked his left ear plug out and warned
"I greeted him, and went out to the lounge, I didnt talk with him"
"EXACTLY..." II was deeply hurt
"BECAUSE HE WAS TALKING" (to Ranjan) R&B declared
"TUMSE milne aaye ya DAD se?" II asked hands on her hips
"Oh ya I forgot... the word Dad cant be mentioned, we have to pussy foot around the word" she whispered
"Enough" he warned
"U didnt even talk to him? He was UPSET" she began to cry
"He was upset because he believes Appa handles me with kid gloves and he seems to have gotten a raw deal in marrying Vandita" he bit out slowly.
"Maybe I should have told him, what Mr Iyer truly thinks of me" he spoke silkily.
To II it sounded like "Tumhare Appa ka pol khol doon" types
II was stunned, as she cringed on that interpretation
"He did not say that!!!!" II began to cry

II felt like he had slapped her

She turned away running inside... sobbing
He stared out at the gate... as guards changed duty for the night, he raised his lil angel and
groaned in her neck as she stirred, patting his hair gently with her tiny fist.
