When Farah revealed the change of the shoot location of the song to SRK, she clearly specified that no compromises would be allowed. Farah told SRK that he would have to jump, prance, go down on his knees, and do everything that was expected of him at ground level. Recollecting the conversation with SRK, Farah revealed "Shah Rukh was game, promising that he'd kill it for any other actor. He was enthusiastic and super energetic, refusing to wear a safety harness and even threatening to dance on top of the engine room till I pointed out that the gushing steam would burn him. As it is, at the end of each day, we'd be covered in soot, with pieces of coal clogging our noses, ears and stuck to our hair!"

^^ I remember reading an article ages back that Mani Ratnam was unhappy with Shilpa's weight so he dropped her from the song..Not sure which reason is true 😆 And did you guys know Kajol was the first choice for Dil Se? Not surprising that she rejected it though 😆

This song makes me feel high. Those beats, voice, visuals and dance were mind blowing. SRK's energy was damn infectious. This song and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani title track made me love SRK as a kid. I don't think anyone could have done this with the same charm.

She turned down Khamoshi too 😆 No wonder SRK once mentioned that they are always ready to have her but she always ditches them 😆 Not sure if her presence would have helped..As much as i like SRK-Kajol, i thought Manisha was fabulous in the film..Ditto with Khamoshi..Manisha owned every frame..

Manisha was awesome to say the least in Dil Se (I've never watched Khamoshi)...but, it still makes one wonder what could've happened if Kajol was in it since she has turned down some really good roles plus she's a good performer herself.

I remember reading somewhere that she also rejected DTPH, Chalte Chalte and Veer Zaara as well..Of course KANK.Am sorta glad she rejected all these films though..DTPH was a great decision..She is obviously not as good a dancer as Madhuri or even Karishma and i don think i can take Shahrukh choosing anyone over her 🤣 Ditto with Chalte Chalte..It was a bad film IMO so good choice again..Not sure why she turned down Veer Zaara..I din particularly like the film anyway and thought Rani was better than Preity 😆 Dil Se of course was a really challenging role so again not sure why she she said no 😆
