Mommy Zarina Wahab says Jiah's mother Rabia Khan is defaming her son

There was a fresh twist in the Jiah Khan case yesterday - CBI chargesheet reportedly revealed that Sooraj Pancholi had extricated the foetus when Jiah was pregnant. However, the Hero actor's mother Zarina Wahab vehemently denies these accusations and firmly states that her son is not guilty. In an exclusive chat with 9xe, Zarina opens up like never before. Excerpts:

So, the Jiah Khan case has come back to haunt you all again...
What wrong has my son done? Is it a crime on a guy's part to tell a girl that he doesn't want to continue his relationship with her? Why should the guy be blamed if that girl then goes on to commit suicide? My son is being framed. He is innocent. This is just not done.

Reportedly, Sooraj extricated Jiah's foetus and disposed it off in the toilet...
Rubbish. Is removing a foetus easy and my son, a medical expert?

Did you know about Jiah's pregnancy?
I came to know it through newspapers. Look, today's youngsters are very smart. They fall in love, have sex and get abortions done without telling anybody. Jiah died because she was depressed that she was rejected by the Telugu industry. She was trying for a Telugu film but failed. She had called Sooraj before going for the Telugu audition to tell him that she is going to make her career in the South industry. If she had got that film, she wouldn't have committed suicide.

Did she die due to her pregnancy?
The pregnancy issue happened several months before she died, Rabia is needlessly mixing up things. She is simply out to tarnish Sooraj's name (pauses).

Go on...
Rabia changed her statements several times. First, she said that Jiah committed suicide because she was depressed about not getting work. When she later learnt that the last call to Jiah had come from Sooraj, she put the blame on Sooraj. Then she returned from London to say that Sooraj had murdered Jiah. Now, she isn't satisfied with the CBI inquiry too. I don't think Rabia was even close to Jiah. If she had been close, Jiah wouldn't have taken such a drastic step. Wouldn't she have shared her problems with her mom then? When Sooraj was dating Jiah, there were times when I felt that Rabia was mentally unstable. Look at her today. The lady has undergone botox, she knew that she'll be facing the camera again. See her recent pictures carefully, the loose skin on her face has become all tight.

Buzz is, your husband Aditya Pancholi travelled to the Capital to meet politicians to lobby for Sooraj...
Another load of rubbish. Aditya went to Delhi to settle a property dispute, We lost that case, but that's a different story.

How's your state of mind now?

Extremely troubled. I haven't slept a wink since the past two days.

Have you appointed a lawyer who will represent Sooraj in court?
Aditya is handling that. I would like to propagate a lesson from Sooraj-Jiah love story for everybody.

What's the lesson?
Cut off ties with your lover if he/she is suffering from depression. I have sympathy for Jiah. Sooraj always spoke highly of her. Think of it, I used to warn him about Jiah's past but... (trails off). Anyway, let's not rewind so much. For now, kindly pray for my son. I conclude by saying that Jiah's soul must be crying over what her family is doing to her boyfriend.

Is Sooraj worried?
Why should he be worried? He is not guilty. Mujhe insaaf chahiye.

WORST piece of advice, or life lesson or whatever she was trying to make it out to be. It is not somebody's fault if they are going through depression. It is not something that they can control, and isolation does nothing but make things harder.

It just gets too much dealing with a person who is self obsessed and destruction. Just my opinion bt the person who should always come 1st is yourself and no 1 else

God the way she talks is so insensitive!! Where the f did Botox come from? 😕 it's so clear from her interviews she is one of those obsessed mothers who think their child can do no wrong, & would go on to defend EVERYTHING they do!!

Sorry, I disagree. In that state of mind, it's not possible to think clearly and work through everything. Most of the time, there's so much the person is going through, they don't know how to handle it. May be I feel this way because I am speaking from personal experience, but I would much rather go through that distress and help the person through it then do nothing and lose that person and live with that guilt my whole life. Just being there to hear them out and giving them someone to talk to is a huge help.
And I know you didnt mean it in a negative way, but someone going through depression is not self-obsessed or trying to take advantage of anyone.

It needs to be the partner's decision. If they love enough they will stick around if not they are allowed the leave. A person who doesn't want to stick around but still stays will only make things worse for the person suffering from depression. They don't need that.

I agree. No one should be forced to stick around, because that never helps anyone. I just interpreted it as her saying "No matter what, get out of the situation."
May be I just interpreted what she said negatively because the whole interview just seems negative to me. "My son did no wrong, everyone else is at fault"
