I know that may seem cold to some ppl. but what shiv did was 100 times worse. yes, gauri found out. for the better. but still, he betrayed her. and this is sumthing he will NEVER be able to undo. And sumthing she will NEVER forget.

not cold, but impossible. and for several reasons --
1) shiv's parents would not allow him to do this to gauri. if the reason why he married her in the first place was not to be disowned (financial reasons), then why and how would he manage to convince his parents to let gauri go back to Kolkata for some time while he sits here "thinks thru the r/ship" and gets ready for it. that's just not how it works when u have an entire family and social status to care about...making such independent decisions are just not feasible.
2) why would gauri agree to it? why would she agree to stay away for undetermined period of time only to be waiting to be called back? she doesnt have any flaws in her nor is she desperate for him. why wouldnt she just break it off and leave?
3) shiv wants to remain good everyone's eyes and doesnt wanna take the blame for gauri's leaving him and the house (obviously b/c of his parents) ....he can't confess that he's the one not able to handle the relationship and he's the one who needs time.
4) bottom line, he can't, actually, handle being a responsible husband... hence he can't claim to be one.
also....i really don't see what was SOOOO horrible in what he did today that is was 100 times worse that sending her away and keeping her waiting while he takes his time to mature.
