Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Heading To Create History
Wednesday 11 November 2015 12.30 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is heading to create history tomorrow by recording the highest opening day in history and beating the opening day record of Happy New Year. The film has good advances with around 10% tickets sold for the four day weekend though the percentage goes higher for the first day. This is very good for a social family drama.

The first day of the film is the best day for box office collections in the year and the audience on the day will see it through to an all time record. The target for the film is not really the Happy New Year opening day but to break that 40 crore nett barrier which may enable the film to remain at 30 crore nett or higher each untill Sunday if content is there.

The Diwali period has just one all India holiday and it is about what the film does after this big holiday. Last Year Happy New Year set records on the opening day but could not do another 30 crore day after day one. This business on Friday will tell what are the real levels of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and more important than day one being an all time record is day two being a non holiday record for long term success.

Salman Khan's much awaited magnum opus family drama Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is all set to hit the screens this Diwali on 12th November 2015. The film also features Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher and Swara Bhaskar in pivotal roles. The film marks a comeback of Salman Khan with director Sooraj Barjatya after 16 long years. The film has created has enough buzz to become the highest opener of 2015 as per the predictions of Distributors and Exhibitors.

According to the distributors across the country, the film will be Salman Khan's biggest opener till date. The film will enjoy its long box office run as there is no big release after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Tamasha will be releasing on 27th November, so PRDP has good 15 days to perform at the box office.

Here's what Distributors are saying about the film so far:

Ajay Pal from Bangalore - "The film is expected to get a big opening of around 38-40 croreswhich is fantastic. The film might beat the opening day collection of Happy New Year which is 44 crores."

Brijesh Tandon from Delhi - "The film is all set for the massive opening and can beat the highest opening collection of Happy New Year'. The extended weekend of 4 days is one of the biggest plus point for the film."

Arun Mehra - "It will be the biggest opener for Salman Khan and 2015 as well. The film will remain in the range of 30-40 crores in its 1st extended weekend, which will indeed be a great business."

A Distributor From Mumbai - "The film is already getting great response in its advance booking. The film is set to open with fantastic numbers on its first day. This family entertainer is all set to break many box office records."

Well, looks like Salman is all set to cook up a storm at the box office this weekend!
