Too bad have not been able to be on the Arjun AT as had to get settled in a new country.

Thanks to all members who have kept the Navi..Arjun AT updated .it feels nice to read the discussion on Arjun the great warrior.

I just watched today's epi and I must say Navi ..Arjun did justice to his scenes in his fight against Shivji.

I wished Navi was given more screenpresence in the show.

I must say Navi.Arjun is quite droolworthy in this exile avatar.

Hi Saveeta I am Lakshmi,Always wished to thank you for this AT as it gives an opportunity for Arjun fans like me to share some views on him. I would also like to praise Navi's performance as Arjun as he is the only attraction for me to watch SPK.Hope to interact with you on Navi and Arjun.

The sixteenth Day battle of Kurukshetra happened to be a matter of dispute as BR Chopra distorted the facts and mislead those who haven't read the Epic. So I would like to post in brief what happened at the end of the day.My source however is BORI Critical Edition Sanskrit PDF and KMG as there is no difference found as per this particular Event. I hereby inform that this is not for discussion and request the revered scholars and Analysts of the Forum not to discuss this Post here as this AT is exclusively dedicated to Arjun and Navi. Atha Karnastramastrena Pratihantyarjunah Swayam...Pravrinot Saravrishtibhih. Then Arjuna baffled all the weapons of Karna and covered the sky and earth with dense shower of arrows. The shafts of Arjuna fell like bludgeons and heavy clubs. Evam Tesham Tada...Girimastam Samasadya...Then the Sun approached the setting mountain and entered it. Kauraveshu Cha Yateshu Tada Rajan Dinakshaye ,Jayam Sumanasah Prapya Parthah Swasibiram Yayuh.. The mighty bowmen of the Kauravas retired from the battlefield fearing night battle.Upon the retirement of the Kauravas at the close of the day, THE PARTHAS cheerful of having obtained VICTORY also retired jeering their enemies and applauding Arjuna and Achyuta.(Vaditra...Stuvantachachyutarjunau.) Dhritarashtra Laments :::Svena chchandena ...Partho...Tenekena Jita Sarve Madiya Ugratejasah...Dhritarashtra said thus to Sanjaya.' It seems Arjun slew all of you at his own will.Indeed the destroyer himself could not escape him in battle.Singlehanded he gratified Agni.Singlehanded he fought with Mahadev... Tatah Abravit Karnah Kridhdhah Sarpa Iva Svasan ...Karna sighing like an angry serpant squeezing his hands and eyeing thy son said.( Karna said thus to Duryothan that night.) Sahasrastra visargena Vayam Tenaadya Vanchitaah.Svastasya sankalpam Sarvam Hantaa Mahipateh...Today by the sudden shower of thousands of shafts We were baffled by him.Tomorrow I will frustrate all his purposes.Arjuna is always careful, firm, possessed of skill and endued with intelligence. When time comes Vaasudeva awakes him... Summary: BoRi and KMG describes the end of the Sixteenth day alike. To sum up,Karna 's arrows were baffled by Arjun and then Sunset happened. The Pandava side rejoiced hailing Parth and Krishna for the victory Then Dhritarashtra laments praising the valour of Arjuna..Duryodhan was assured by Karna who admitted Arjuna baffled all of them with sudden shower of arrows. He assured Duryothan that he will frustrate Arjuna the next day. Then Karna praises Arjun and Krishna and asks Duryothan to arrange Salya as his charioteer. PS. The poem numbers I forgot to include But Any one can check in Karna Parva Shodasa Divasah..The Sixteenth Day .

Superb performance by Navi as Arjun. Even a Shaheer fan like me got bowled over by his sincere portrayal. Especially in Vana Parva Episodes he excelled in every aspect be it in looks, dialogue delivery or expressions. If Saveeta is active here she would have provided nice pictures of Navi as Arjun. Navi succeeded in luring me to watch the otherwise non sensical serial, the so called brain child of SIDT.Now I can watch whenever Navi is on screen and reduce the volume especially when GR is present with his lack lustre looks and performance. Good Job Navi. You won my heart.

Completely agree with you di. I saw yesterday's epi only for Navi. 😳 I liked his dialogues and expressions a lot especially in yesterday's epi.

IIM Kozhikode campus established a statue of Arjun with his bow and arrow ,taking aim that personifies his focus and dedication. It greets us as soon as we enter the campus. The purpose of keeping Arjun's statue is to inspire and motivate students to achieve their aim through hard work ,grit and determination. In a recent work shop conducted for new entrants the Director said that if at all the present day students learn one hundredth of Arjun's concentration and focus they will go places. He urged the students to have faith in themselves and achieve the target. He quoted Arjun's remarkable victories like hitting the Fish Target etc.He said Arjun's greed for knowledge made him ascend new heights again and again. In another event ' GurukulFor Gurus " The Director said that Gita is not a manual to read but it is a manual to practice. He praised Arjun for being the best student who can extract the ultimate knowledge from the Lord himself.

Arjuna and Achilles A comparison by Andreas Kluth. Wayang is an ancient Indonesian Tradition in which the shadows of Puppets are cast onto a screen. It is the story of Arjuna and his brothers. The great Epic The Mahabharata is for Asia what the Illiad and Odyssey and other Greek Myths are for the West . Wayang makes Arjuna the Achilles, the Odysseus ,the Theseus of the East.Arjuna, The greatest hero of the East heroism looks familiar in the West.He was a great fighter ,an ambedexterous and precise archer ,indeed an Indian Apollo with arrows. He practiced in the dark to make himself better than anyone. He won the hand of his wife Draupadi in an archery contest remarkably similar to the one Odysseus won against the suitors at Ithaca to regain his wife Penalope.Arjuna was the biggest hero in the biggest war of Mythological India . WHAT ACHILLES WAS TO THE GREEKS AT TROY ARJUNA WAS TO THE PANDAVAS AT KURUKSHETRA. Arjuna also lost his own loved ones. His sons and nephews died in battle just like the Trozan heroes lost their relatives and friends in war.Achilles's Wrath in Homer's Illiad is the best known part of the story of Trozen war.Similarly The Gita The Song Of The God is the result of Arjun's sorrow. The Gita is History's most fascinating dialogue about how to yoke the human mind into harmony with its situation.

Famous Gujarati writer Kajal Ojha Vaidya's novel Draupadi was translated into Hindi by Dr.Anjana Sandhir.Kajalji is the visiting professor of Gujarat University and some American and London universities.

EXCERPTS FROM HER NOVEL THAT EXPLORE DRAUPADI'S FEELINGS FOR ARJUN:

"I became lonely enduring separation from Arjun.
Bheem Ofcourse is sensitive and emotional towards me. But he is unable to gauze through the inner recesses of my heart. In his love I can't find the small small romantic gestures that I find in Arjun's love for me. Nakul and Sahadev are younger in age.I am more like a mother to them than wife.Yudhishtir leads the life of an ascetic. He used to call me Priyamvada in Indraprasth but now he addresses me as 'Devi' and hardly converses with me.

Even in the forest Arjun used to bring colourful flowers to me daily. He used to bring delicate deer skin for my upper garment. When I wear those flowers in my hair, he used to praise my beauty. I used to blush on hearing his lovely words.Even when my year is not with him,I always desired to be with him.
Arjun has indescribable charm in mesmerising a woman. When he touches me by chance while exchanging things I used to feel thrilled and experience immense pleasure of being a woman.Even when I spend time with my other husbands,in one corner of my mind,I always used to think of Arjun.

Perhaps Krishna separated him from me time to time to make him achieve the purpose of his birth.Whatever it is,being away from him,I feel I am drifting away from myself."

Draupadi's Thoughts...Translated into English by Lakshmi Telidevara.
