Apparently, Anil Kapoor requested Salman Khan to put in a word for daughter Sonam Kapoor for 'Dolly Ki Doli'

If sources are to be believed, Anil Kapoor apparently recommended Sonam Kapoor to Salman Khan for Sooraj Barjatya's upcoming film.

Says a source, "When Arbaaz Khan approached Sonam for his project, Dolly Ki Doli, she agreed to star in his film. So recently when Anil Kapoor got to know that Sooraj Barjatya has been looking for a lead actress opposite Salman Khan in the film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Anil decided to suggest his daughter's name to Salman."

The source points out that since Anil is anyway a close friend of Sooraj Barjatya, the latter was more than happy to sign on Sonam. "After Anil recommended Sonam's name to Salman, Sooraj got to know about this. Since he's a good friend of Anil's, he had a chat about the same with him and Sooraj then decided to offer the film to Sonam. Both he and Salman felt that she would fit the part," says the source.

It may be pointed out that Sooraj Barjatya had initially approached Deepika Padukone but she couldn't do the film due to date issues. After this, several names, including Anushka Sharma and Nargis Fakhri, were rumoured to have been offered the part but the fact is that neither of them were finalised for it.

Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya and Anil and Sonam Kapoor remained unavailable for comment.

Lol someone rightly said sonam is misfit for bollywood.
Only reason she came this far is bcz of papa kapoor..
Alia and shraddha's 3 yrs in industry r more successful tha talentless kapoor girl's 8 yrs.

Stating that Sonam is a misfit, is too early. I am sure if Sooraj thought that she wouldn suit the role, he would have rather casted a newcomer.

Lol if that's the case then why Anil didn't recommend Sonam as heroine or any plump role in any of his films...!! Nepotism is just crap excuse given by all new comers/outsiders..!! If you have talent then you can be successful. If nepotism is ruling then why Sonam has more flops in her kitty ? It's because of wrong choice she made. Raanjhana Director did what other couldn't. I feel Sonam can perform very well if she is given chance. And no doubt she is fashion icon and nobody can deny that. I truly believe that whatever Sonam has so far achieved is on her own and nothing because of nepotism.

Why do we even compare them? Just because they started together? They both have had different career paths.

Deepika has been doing extremely well for herself and so Sonam getting PRDP is not going to damage her career in anyway. So Deepika's fans need to chill.

Also bashing Deepika is not going to do any favors to Sonam either so Sonam's fans need to chill too.

Deepika has an epic movie in form of Bajirao Mastani and Sonam has an epic movie in form of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo this year but they are releasing so far from each other that there is not even competition.

Lol she is only here because thats how bollywood works.

There r so many talented people around but daddy can get her films and if not produce them.

Trailer is enough for any sane person to see what a misfit she is.

Sucking up to Bhai doesnt work for her or her fans. 😆

This Movie will work for her if she has many scenes as she had in BMB. 😆

Talent wise, she is no competition to any other heroine today. What a waste.

as long as sonam doesn't do sexy, which i don't think she will

I think she is perfect in the film

i loved the salman sonam jodi in saawariya

but coming back to if jaap about deepika's pr, I think she is least pr made star at this point, she actually has given the performances in her movies. if she was a pr made star, her movies would have been hits when she was on kwk with sonam.

and I think she really was the first choice for prdp, esp remembering salman''s deepika deepika answers in kwk

and when have we seen sooraj barjatya at a party ever but at deepika's success party?
