I happened to watch this film recently, as I missed it in theatres...I didn't like the promos and I wasn't a big fan of Sid or Pari either (Sid's SOTY was hell annoying...he was presented as a male urmila matondkar coming out in trunks between the beaches, the film was a total male skin show and KJO took ramu's seat) hence I had zero expectations, even after the release, despite some great reviews the film didn't make any great noise. I passed it
but lately I got to see it on DVD as a friend of mine insisted it badly to watch it atleast once - true she had a thing - this isn't a mindblowing movie, but this is definitely a charming movie. oh boy did Sid really surprise in this one. You don't really care how he acts, his character is so lovably etched, the way he shows concern, care and warmness is enough to get u hooked. This is certainly his debut. he definitely leaves a mark.
Parineeti I guess is typecasted in type of roles, but she had a solid role to play, although I felt her real act starts from where she introduces sid to her molecule ball before that she has to rely on those weird expessions coming from her anti depressants. a brilliant scientist - Although this make sense into the real life zone but the characters are so wonderfully etched it does leave an impact.
Story is very subtle - warming - a little crisp editing would have made it more effective - suppose that weirdo from nikhil side falling for Meeta aping anu malik's voice was simply a character that made no sense. his scenes could have been easily cut out. The songs are definitely amazing. they look much better on screen than on your ipod.
All in all it was a very good different kind of movie which shouldn't have been missed. But I really wonder how could this movie missed out the mark to become a HIT. I think it should have been a complete success.
What went wrong - The Title Yes ! A big factor - there is nothing cuckin crazy about this film. it's far sensitive and warming movie. so a funny title doesn't make sense at all...boring promos too could be the reason because it tried to show it a wacky film but it turned out to be something else. this i feel went against the movie.
And I am reallhy sorry - no offence I was just going through the members reviews of this movie and have to say its completely bullshit 🥱 half of the thread is filled with people discussing movie's box office collections and its verdict...or others talking about how hot sid was looking😕 the film had much more to tell and I was looking for some decent reviews which I couldn't find elsewhere...
Anyways ! It does feel bad when a good film like this does not get its due
