Ranjan had really high fever when she went to check on him
She called Dr Baig, Mahavir gave her the number, she texted R&B

He walked down after his shower

"I think we should do something" she paced Ma & dad's bedroom
"Lets wait until he gets here" he reassured

"Its not OK for anyone around 70 to have such high fever you know" she channeled Periappa

"They say viral fever lasts long II" he was frustrated

"How do u know its viral he said it COULD BE" II argued

A quick smile came and went... on his face at her passionate temper tantrum

She would doubt Dr Baig's skills if she had to...

"Come here" he coaxed leaning on the door way

"No" she refused arms across her chest

Ranjan smiled  "Dr Baig ko main batata hoon ki tum uske diagnosis ko doubt kar rahi thi" he muttered eyes closed

II was startled "U ARE AWAKE?" she demanded

"Haan sun raha hoon" he said weakly, and sneezed, held his head

II felt his forehead "Romba sudradu da" (its so hot)

R&B sighed

"Khare hain news waale?" Ranjan enquired

"Kyon?" II asked furious

"Nahi" he shook his head weakly

"THEY DONT CARE u are sick or u dont feel good they will probably report it as a pretense" II was outraged, upset

"Haan apne benchmark reasearch complete kar diya hota to aaj baat final bhi ho jaati shaayad" Ranjan provoked her

"I SENT YOU what I had, you changed everything on me" II was furious

Ranjan leaned forward met his son's gaze...

"Gusse waali hai kyon?" he teased

"DADDD" II walked out of the room
He husband, stopped her pulling her arm

"Beta Baig ko dara mat"

"I WILL" she said turning to face Ranjan

R&B held her from behind, warm and secure


"Nashta to khilayin" he ordered

"I will bring oatmeal" she freed herself from her husband's clutches

she fixed Ranjan oatmeal sat him up and fed him a few spoons he ended up throwing up most of it
Mahavir and another help, cleaned up and helped him change
He went out to lay on the bed in the bedroom across the hallway


Manya woke and came down to find her Dad be sick, II heard Manya was leaving Tuesday
And Makarand did not spend the night afterall with her...

"How come nobody woke ME Dimpal?" Manya was offended

"I brought her from the airport and found him exhausted on the lounge couch" R&B told her

"Dr baig ko kaha?" she asked sipping coffee

II nodded "He was here and he will be here soon"

"why is he not in his room?"

"He ate oat meal and threw up so we moved him" II informed her

Manya sat by her Dad and checked her email


Dr Baig came by when his morning clinic closed for biz. Didnt have any new pieces of
diagnosis, just said if he cant keep anything down all day he needs to be admitted

She texted Amma Appa and akka... brought her laptop down and worked by his bed side

Manya showered and went out to "take care of a couple of things"

R&B had calls in his office all morning

She went up around 1:30 "Busy ho?" she asked gently

He shook his head

He ended his call, English... and hung up

She sat down by him on the couch, he never sat behind his desk, there was a bowl of candy on his desk she got up and
got one, nervously unwrapping he reached and grabbed it from her
She refused to hand it to him

He pulled it hard... "DONT" he ordered huskily at her defiance

"Its a CANDY" she scoffed

It was no longer about the candy... they both knew the issue in question was Ranjan's health crisis

He unwrapped it with ease and handed it back.. she asked for the wrapper he didnt give it to her

"I thought u just said I COULD go" he hissed (unhappy she was angry, after her own suggestion of asking him to return to Paris)

"KHUSH HOKAR KEHTI KI CHALE JAO?" she had BIG tear drops waiting to take the plunge down her cheeks


"I didnt mean that" he grumbled

"U should go" she said unconvinced, her candy beginning to melt he reached to picked it up from her palm, she withdrew, he pulled her towards him, grabbed it and fed her,
reaching for a kleenex and wiping her palm gently


"II" he begged

"Do u have to return because of a trek appointment?" she asked coldly

He didnt answer

She yanked her hand, or tried to... he wouldnt let go

"Does it make you happy to think u married a callous cad?" he asked softly

"Your actions have no bearing on my happiness" she said uncaringly


He was going to have to miss the surfing date and the trek date

"I better go check on lunch" she attempted to get up, gently chewing... he leaned and licked the corner of her lips, finding a chocolate bubble

She let him stroke, and get the whole thing off, she held the candy between her teeth, he became bolder and parted her lips
with her tongue and found  lumps held between her teeth, he tasted hungrily, as she moaned arching

She let him have the remainder, shutting her eyes leaning weakly, shuddering to calm her racing heart

"Its not like I cant take care of him" she told him off

"Ofcourse you can"

"Its not like I cant live without you either" she told him off again

"Ouch!!" he said and  half smiled...

They heard footsteps, it was Mahavir

"Vaqeel aaye hain?"

"YAHAN?" she said confused, and realized Ranjan only got sick early morning so they might not know

They went down... it was the Peaches & Tongs dude...😉

His face lit up when he saw II walk down the stairs with Mahavir...😳😆

Like most nights except when I am too tired, before turning in for the night, when I was catching up with the pages, clicked on Nivi's mom's link. Read the first one, felt heavy, was not sure I had it in me to continue reading but read the others too, teared up badly, couldn't let it out as hubs just got back in town after 10 days of travel, did not want him to wonder about this as I normally don't tear up easily. Went to the bathroom and let myself out.
Enna solradhu avan kitta, kya bathathi usko ki , that I am crying for a girl I don't know in person, for a mother whom I don't know, for the girl's beautiful family and her fiance whom I know only virtually that too indirectly virtually, and yes , somethings cannot be shared with anyone , it's just what you feel , within you.
I had told him about Nivi. And he was kind of taken bk abt the impact that had on me but beyond that we hv never discussed abt this .
As much as he loves me and our family, he wouldn't hv understood the pain behind my tears, a grief that even I fail to understand myself. We were talking yday abt Hershey wondering abt how much does one share with their hubs and I was thinking I am not able to share this grief with him.

I am thinking,there are people out there who go through irrevocable pain, and I hv been too self consumed and hv absolutely no business to complain abt the niggles of every day living.

Last night, I did not hv it in me to post even a reply to her entries but this morning I did. She writes beautifully. All her entries are treasures and was zapped at the similarities of Nisha's mentions of the little Nivi.
