Sridevi demanded Rs 6 crores to play Ramya Krishnans role in Bahubali

Everyone has been praising actress Ramya Krishnan's performance in SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali. But did you know that the director first approached none other than the beautiful Sridevi?

According to sources, Rajamouli was keen on getting Sridevi to play the role of Sivagami. When he approached her for the role, Sridevi was interested but demanded a whopping Rs 6 crores to do the film! Apparently, Rajamouli was taken aback. This salary is on par with what many heroes in the south would demand but considering this was a big budget film that focussed on Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, the remuneration Sridevi asked for was too high.

Looks like Rajamouli and the producers weren't keen on signing on Sridevi after her demand and they approached Ramya Krishnan. Rama Krishnan gave a superb performance and is now being praised by everyone for her majestic acting as Sivagami. Now that the movie has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark, all those who have acted in the film and Rajamouli are extremely happy with the success.Guess Sri's loss is Ramya's lucky gain!

Sridevi meanwhile is playing a queen in Vijay's upcoming Tamil film Puli. If all goes well for her in this film, may be she'll bag more roles in the south. But she does need to rethink her salary!
