Bollywood directors dating and marrying actresses is not a new story in the tinsel town. The latest couple in the list is reportedly director Punit Malhotra and Esha Gupta. Latest reports suggest that the duo has begun dating on the sets of "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" (2013), which had Kareena Kapoor Khan and Imran Khan in the lead. Esha had done an item song in the romantic comedy film.
Earlier, Punit, 33, was in an alleged relationship with his "I Hate Luv Stories" actress Sonam Kapoor, which reportedly came to an end after the release of the romantic film. Esha was been linked to Delhi socialite Feroz Gujral's son Armaan, but the two have called it quits. Though initially Punit and Esha were just getting to know each other, they have grown much closer during the last few months.
Punit, nephew of popular designer Manish Malhotra, began his career in the entertainment industry as an assistant director to Karan Johar in "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" (2001). He has also assisted Nikhil Advani in "Kal Ho Naa Ho" (2003), Amol Palekar in "Paheli" (2005) and Tarun Mansukhani in "Dostana" (2008). Meanwhile, Esha will be seen next in Neeraj Vora directorial "Hera Pheri 3", which has Paresh Rawal, Sunil Shetty, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles. "Hera Pheri 3" is the third instalment of "Hera Pheri" film series and a sequel to Phir Hera Pheri (2006).
