Kangana Ranauts luscious curls are heavenly! Every curly-haired girl knows that the longer your hair, the better it tends to look. But there are times when you get sick of it and want to just chop it all off. You might think that's why Kangana cut it, but it turns out she's taken the plunge for her new movie, Rangoon. And you've got to admit, it looks hella good.

Stylist Ami Patel dressed her in a gold Sabyasachi lehenga and I feel like her new haircut makes her look edgier than ever.

While she's styled it in soft curls for the wedding, the movie will have her sporting a rather '30s style do. Sure it might be a little hard to maintain, but it isn't anything Queen Kangana can't handle!

Mirror brings you the action from the World War romance.

Set against the Second World War, Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming Casablanca-like love triangle, Rangoon, featuring Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor, is being filmed at Mumbai's Film City studio. "A large wooden set has been constructed on top of a large pond and the entire set has been cordoned off from the outside. A 50-foot flag of England forms the backdrop and the set resembles a theatre stage. Late on Tuesday, Kangana was on that stage, dressed in a kind of a uniform with a sexy spin to it, whip in hand, along with a white horse, as director Vishal rapped out instructions," says Mirror lensman Raju Shelar who sat with starryeyed kids in the jungles of Goregaon East overlooking the set.

The unit has been shooting since Saturday with Kangana and Saif. On Tuesday, the shift was from 7 pm to 2 am, and Kangana who plays Julia, an actress from the '40s, caught the eye with her chicly short Marilyn Monroe-like hairstyle, which has been styled by Adhuna Akhtar. "She will be seen mostly in western clothes, including halter-neck dresses and plays the ultimate seductress," a source informed Mirror.

"On Friday, Saif who reportedly plays a filmmaker, sporting really short hair and a trim moustache, was filming on the same set, with one functional hand. His other hand was bleeding and bandaged for the shot," Shelar added.

In an earlier interview with Mirror (May 27), Bhardwaj had revealed that Rangoon has been a dream he had nurtured for the last seven years. Describing the film as "Moulin Rouge meet Saving Private Ryan" he had confessed that this was his most expensive film to date and will be very musical.

"If you visit a cemetery in Imphal, Manipur, you will see the graves of so many young soldiers who lost their lives in the Second World War. And the dark irony is that Indians were killing Indians because some of these soldiers fought for the British army against Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army in Rangoon," Vishal had explained just before his film rolled. After bringing you an exclusive peek at Kangana Ranaut's look in Vishal Bhardwaj's ambitious Casablanca-like love triangle, Rangoon (December 3), Mirror recently snapped leading man Saif Ali Khan in action at South Mumbai's Eros Cinema.

While Kangana had dominated on stage, dressed in what looked like a military outfit with a glamorous twist, whip in hand, Saif looked serious, sober and staid. The actor who reportedly plays a '40s filmmaker, was clicked by Mirror lensman Raju Shinde as he stepped out to give a shot. Dressed in pinstripe trousers, a classic white shirt, and a narrow, printed tie, Saif was sporting a really short cut, his hair slicked back, and a pencil-thin moustache, looking like Clark Gable as Rhett Butler from Victor Fleming's Oscarwinning 1939 historical romance, Gone with the Wind.

Interestingly, while co-star Kangana started prepping extensively for her role months in advance, Saif took his time to shave off his stubble, lose the muscles he'd gained for Phantom and get into the foxy '40s till Kabir Khan's spy thriller released. Earlier, during a shoot at Film City he was spotted with a bloodied and bandaged left hand. This time it was in a cast.

Meanwhile, the film's third lead, Shahid Kapoor, was sporting some serious facial fuzz for months but recently shaved of his thick beard. Buzz is, Vishal and he have been experimenting with three different looks but have yet to fix on a look for Shahid who plays an army officer.
