I've always wanted to write a review on this show and somehow i miss it week after week. Nevertheless, its better late than never 😊
Coming to the show, good job to Star Plus for bringing shows like this which steers away from all the regular soaps of scheming saas-bahu, runaway brides, extramarital and just name more illogical ideas and you get the TRP gaining shows. I wonder if its only me who find the concept of the show similar to Star Plus's previous show Airlines which i also used to follow.

A different problem everyweek, and a mystery behind one of its staff. If in Airlines, it was Akash, here its Anahita. Coming to the concept of a hotel, its refreshing and what is more beautiful is the usage of a real hotel. The hotel seems perfect to be termed as Gulmohar Grand with its majesty build exterior and interior.

Coming to the characters in the show, we have Mr Jaitley, the owner of Gulmohar Grand. From what we have seen, he seems bitter and hot tempered. Is this the real him or is it out of frustration and anger? From what we've seen so far, he has a daughter which he displays on his table. What we could make up from here is his daughter could have done something against his wish, hence the anger. My guess is his daughter could have married someone without his approval. Hence he must have disowned her.

There was an article of Pratyusha playing a role of Parinda whom her parents are forcing her to marry and she runs away. Mr Jaitley could relate to this and we could see his flashback or the reason for his anger.

And Anirudh who is the only one who can pacify Mr Jaitley. Its really nice seeing Gaurav playing the calm Anirudh and an understanding person. He seems to give more importance and neglecting his family. Perhaps more insight into this could be shown in coming episodes.

Neel, an ex police officer who joins the security force of Gulmohar Grand. He seems perfect for the role of the security officer. Tall and the physique is convincing and his flashback was revealed that he was terminated from the police force for being under substance during a shootout causing a victim to die. This has been really haunting him and hopefully we get to see him getting rid of this guilty conscious in the coming episodes.

Anahita is a mystery so far. She seems to be finding a room and what could it be? Could Anahita be related to Mr Jaitley or his daughter? Under the influence of substance last week, Anahita said she is the owner of this hotel. Could she really be the owner? Could she be Mr Jaitley's granddaughter and the mission is to re-unite her mother and Jaitley? The possibilities seems to be open for now and shall see what happens next.

And of course, not to forget the chemistry of Neel and Anahita. Both joined on the same day and have so far bonded though the cat and mouse game is going on. Hopefully we get to see love blooming between both of them soon.

The supporting casts of Teeshay and more have been good so far. One thing i really liked about the show is it has not been dragging and its faced paced. Hopefully the show is given the time to open up and not treated like Airlines but not airing on certain weekends and eventually ending it before its allocated episodes timeline.

Overall, its a good show with good potential 👍🏼

yes even i used to follow airlines and this show .Both the show are very similar in the way of presenting drama one incident every episode and mystery with main characters .
I loved annie character and her secret
This show is doing good i hope they allow it to complete 26 episodes and let full story unfold not like airlines end it abruptly

Yes, the story telling is similar with a different problem/story each week and how the team deal with it. The concept is refreshing and the characters are spot on i would say. Curious to know what is Annie's secret though its most likely a positive secret. For all we know, on the last episode, Anahita could be the owner of GG. Hopefully Star Plus don't ruin this show at least.

A wonderful analysis dear.
I too love these type of shows which steer away from the normal saas-bahu sagas...and other similar TRP garnering tracks...

Airlines was also a favourite show of mine and the treatment Star Plus gave it really angered me...

I believe these shows are for the classes and not masses, henced we have to bear the brunt of the step-motherly treatment they get.

So far GG is going very well...Lovely setting (An actual hotel), good characterisation (mystery romance-in-the-air etc,),... Different story tracks each episode...Just hope it keeps going in the same way...

Hoping to see your posts more frequently on this forum...

Hey Visha!

Personally I'm loving the show. I left Airlines midway only because I couldn't see Tulip's character being the problem solver every time. Here what I like the most is that Anahaita isn't solving every problem. The baby-being-sold episode showed Neil, Teeshay, and Tina resolving everything.

The other thing I really love is the characterizations. They're all real, relate-able, and believable. And they all have something or the other in their pasts that bring them together in uncommon, but realistic ways.

I like that the setting is an actual hotel, there are different tracks each week and not all are criminal or have some problem to be solved, and that the characters are being developed at a good pace and relationships are also being developed at a good pace. For example it didn't feel weird at all that Neil was watching Annie dance with some sort of surprise and fascination. It makes sense and feels like the perfect next step to a new relationship between these 2.

The only thing I am having issues with (for lack of a better word) is Anirudh's involvement. He's there all the time in the thick of every problem. Then he's also there to save people from Mr. Jaitley. Then he's also there to hear the conversations that remind him of his past. He's human, not Superman that he's always in the right place at the right time. I would like if they stopped doing that. And same with Annie.

I agree, it was a good show but got bad treatment from SP. Hope GG is spared from all of that.
Yes, this week was another interesting episode with Paachi's story next week.

And the thing about the show is they don't make you wonder what is the secret for long. Now we also know Anahita's mission and can't wait to see her convince Mr Jaitley.

Thanks and hope to see you around too 😊

Hey Shreya,

Actually after you said it, its actually true. Any problem, Ananya would be there and she would solve the problem 😆

Yes, everyone are getting prominence in the story and in each episode that its not centralized on only a few characters. For example, Anirudh, Neil, Anahita, Teeshay, Mr Jaitley and the other girl with Teeshay are all the main characters with a role to play in each episode.

And this week was a light feel episode. Anahita's secret is revealed and i guess her mother could have passed away and she just wants to re-unite with her grandfather and for him to forgive her mother. The ending part made me smile. Slowly Neil is falling in love and the way he was watching her dancing with a smile was really good. And Mr Devadar's anniversary story was heart warming. This shows they don't really need an action packed episode every week.

Regarding Anirudh, yes. Even he has problems. Like he is separated from his wife and goes dating with other girls and yet he misses his wife Pallavi. So he too has a loop hole which he needs to tie together because giving advice is easy but solving it on our own is difficult. Hope he would also be able to mend his relationship with his wife. Perhaps since he is a manager, so he roams around frequently i guess 😆

Yes, lucky they didn't show those jealous co-workers or any of them having evil intentions. Anahita just wants to mend the relationship with her grandfather and i guess in between this, she would also fall in love with Neil. Already rooting for their pair. I guess in the upcoming weeks towards the end, we may see the terrorist drama and they may take the Mumbai Attack for inspiration i guess but lets see how they play out the story as it has been good so far.
