I am liking this show. I had watched Airlines but couldn't connect to it, but this show I am able to connect to the characters. But one thing I need to tell the story is kind of inspired from Arthur Hailey's book " The Hotel " and since last week it is revealed that Annie is Mr Jaitely's grand daughter it reminds me of the Malyalam movie Santhawanam also.
But all in all I am liking this show , but afraid also because due to its different concept it might not get the TRPs and SP has the habit of pulling down shows.
I have still not forgiven them for ending EHT the way they did, rushing a show which was after all was only for a year. 3 months they couldn't give. I hope they give Gulmohar Grand 26 episodes as every story needs to be told in a pace that gives it a proper closure.

@ Bold: Honestly I agree. SP has always had a bad rapport with good shows. Private Investigator was another show they just simply suddenly rushed to the end. There were only 17 episodes and the last episode announcement came like 2 days before the show was to air. Then there was EHT and Kaali Ek Punar Avatar. Both had rushed endings with lots of questions and problems left at the end. I really do hope that GG goes through the 26 episodes or at least if they think about ending it early, the producers and directors are given an early enough warning so that we get proper closure.

On Last Sunday they show Annie is the grandaugter of Mr. Jeity and she try to help her grandpa to come out of anger from her mom.hope thing work out soon. So many characters are interesting here and I like all the staff they are very friendly. Otherwise the story is fresh start and interesting concept every week they had new ploblem to deal with the story. So far so good.😊

Yes, the makers have laid the stage for 26 episodes and i do hope it completes all the episode and what they wish to convey. At times when they have written a script which is meant for 26 episodes and suddenly getting a closure notice and having to end it in just 1 or two episodes makes they lose a large chunk of portion which disrupts the flow of the story and also ruins the experience for us who have been following the show. This was the case for Airlines and i really hope it does not repeats here. In terms of characters, even the characters they cast for the weekly episodes are some good actors instead of getting some random actor or worse still, people who can't even act or emote. So that's another good thing in the show 👍🏼

I guess not many shows have been made on the Hotel industry and the problems they face. Hence this is something fresh. Airlines was also initially good but ruined after sometime. I actually fail to understand why would they compare a weekend show's TRP to a regular show's TRP. Weekend shows should be left out of the TRP race and give value for 'Quality' instead of 'Quantity'. We just hope the show completes its 26 episodes and gives us a good ending.

Strangely enough, SP has the eye for innovative and shows which are different. Shows like EHT, Everest, Airlines were different from the others. But the greed for the TRP makes them end good shows with good story. I think Everest had its course but Airlines faced the chopping board and the end product was a half baked closure. Hoping GG does not faces the same and it would be a lost to SP for doing it.

So true. But I believe apart from Everest, finite series and different concept shows have never done so well on SP. Kaali was a daily like EHT, but it never did too well in terms of TRP. And then they announced it's ending and the show was rushed towards the finishing point leaving me feeling very angry. Even when PI first started on SP, I was worried that they would ruin the show, but it did really well with good character development until the last episode. Out of nowhere they brought Bhupinder Singh into the show as Raffe's criminal dad and then we have this rushed episode where he disappears leaving them alone. Of course it also left the show open to come back for a second season, but personally I don't know how much to trust SP with such shows anymore.

Everest got its end because of 2 things. First it was pre shooted and second it was produced by Bollywood big wig Ashutosh Gowarikar. SP I guess didn't want to meddle with him as they too need Bollywood biggies to invest in their channel. That's why irrespective of an average TRP Everest had those 104 epi.
Other PH which are airing finite shows don't have that luxury and are mostly treated shabbily for TRPs. Channels should base mark some minimum TRP for such differential shows and they should not be compared to SBS TRPs.
You don't compare a Dabaang with a Kahaani. Both are success in their own way. One set is star power which attract the masses, and other is power of script which attracts classes at first and slowly word of mouth ensures masses are attracted too.
But sad part is channels are not doing that. SP actually has the option of getting multiple revenue streams by airing their shows in dubbed version in sister channel. Last heard EHT is airing in Srilanka's Hiru channel and Malayalam dubbed version is airing in Asianet plus since last week. Even I am watching it. So I hope they evolve a better model and give the differential shows and their viewers something to look out for in TV.

^ Absolutely! And if they can't divide by genre then at least divide between weekday and weekend shows. A show airing 5 or 6 days a week will obviously have more TRPs than a show airing only on one day. I've never liked this concept of comparing TRPs irrespective of what the show is or when it airs. That's why I often like the "less-popular" channels in the sense that they really don't rely on the TRP game. Big Magic, and Disney India are quite along that path and I like that shows on these channels run their course and then end or go through revamps.
