We don't know what a member is like in real life to pass a judgement about that member as a person, we can only judge their views. We may want to believe that we know what the person is like, but in reality it is still a speculation that we are indulging in. We might think that her views are incorrect or inconsistent, but we cannot assume that she as a person is not genuine in her liberal views.

Sorry, but I absolutely do not support what you said in this matter. I believe that our opinions should be confined to the subject we are debating and should not transgress into the territory of speculating about someones personality or character.

Sorry souro, I didnt meat to shoot off you shoulder but I couldn't resist...I don't get personal except this one time with @bazigar but if you look back I was termed rapist for that single comment of mine...I don't hold that against but the same person went cray cray when I made a generalized statement on her...and his is not the first time she has made personal attacks on me...happened quite a few times in the past too...
Also even after that fake apology, she went and made that nazi comment on me😆
I just wanted to shed light on hipocrisy...that's all !

PS: As a moderator, I don't think you should be allowing or encouraging behavior that attacks the person rather than the argument.

😆

Sorry I can't help but chuckle given some of you dedicated few pages generalizing a member's personality over her virtual remarks, to an extent of tagging her as the rapist. The irony just died considering you being an ex-"moderator" 😆

Hahhaha, I rather people keep up with their insults and attacks than handing out fake apologies. But that's just me 😆

Good discussion so far.

You raised some good points. I am curious about your actual opinion on the documentary.

Documentary - yay or nay?
Ban on documentary - yay or nay?

Or are you still processing data?

Exactly...I have had enough of the fake concern as someone other than me also pointed out...hence made my views about her clear for once n all but I guess even there I was made look like a villain...

You just cannt win with them now can you?

@K.Universe: tbh Udwin was criticized after she said this -> "I think Bollywood movies are po*nography. I think that women are objectified. It's all part of this disease, this culture".

What do you think of our home minister's comments...and Delhi Police's action against your film?
A. It is an attempt to block... an attempt to derail the film. It is very sad but it is hardly surprising, in any way. And it does not really worry me because this is a sick society. And look where the men are looking - they are looking in the wrong direction. They are looking to keep the status quo. They want to keep their power; they do not want women to be emancipated. So, of course, they react like this.

^^ It may or may not be "generalization" but people are going to interpret her words differently. Sick society. Was this necessary to say after her film got banned?

She ran away from the country instead of confronting the problem. Not everyone is going to look at her as a victim of documentary ban.

She only mentions it is a global problem when she is asked if the documentary undermines India.

Her documentary is not globally based. Again I can't read her mind, but she needs to be her mindful of her words especially the use of the words "sick society", because she is out there to promote a documentary based in India (not entire world).

Most have no issue with her being a foreigner, but if she starts to call Bollywood as "po*nography" then one really can't be expected to praise her for her dumb remarks.

Exactly.
When she was in India, she ignored the request of the govt. that they be allowed to review the content before airing the documentary.
When she left India and India decided to ban the documentary, then she declared that she wants Modi to view the documentary and lift the ban.

Why did she choose not to show the documentary to Modi and discuss with him before airing it and while she was in India?
And if she considers Indian society to be sick as per her own admission, why did she come to India in the first place? India ne invitation bheja tha? Ke aao aur hume gaali deke jao?

I don't understand why she fled unless there was some illegal business going on. Probably it ain't legal to interview a rapist while his case is on going ? Either way her fleeing and ignoring the request and not co operating shows the kinda "concern" she has for India and Indians.

Edit: Or probably because she paid a chunk outta her pocket for the interview/s ?

You can't make me watch a 50 minute documentary on the computer, even if it decodes the universe, RTH.

The way I see it, if it is a fact, I already know it. if it is an opinion, I don't give too much importance to it.

I think she did spend some money.
"I am personally 120,000 in debt. I could not spend much and interview hundreds of people. But I tried to keep it concise and beautiful."
