Disappointed with the portrayal of Chanakya

I know, many will retort that its too early to judge the portrayal of any character, but I believe that first impression is the last impression.

I believe all those who have been avid watchers of Chandragupta Maurya will agree with me at least to some extent. Comparisons are bound to happen.

I was trying hard to find the fire in the eyes, the boom in the voice and an undying 'tej' on the face of Chanakya but failed in my attempt. The dialogues delivery seemed monotonous too.

Or maybe the CGM hangover is pretty much still there. 😆

I liked the overall episode too! Chanakya was the only character that disappointed me to some extent. The cinematography, beautiful natural locations and the ambience that was created was enough to make me look forward to the other episodes!

@bold: Manish Wadhwa set TOO HIGH a benchmark for anyone to even touch a little chunk of it.

About history...I'm not very knowledgeable. 😆 I read a lot and forget a lot. 😆But as far as I know Chanakya was alive during Ashoka's time, and one of Bindusara's minister conspired against his death. I'm not sure though. 😆

Too early to form opinion yet but I also hope to see a very cunning Chanakya. Hope we will not be disappointed.

The first scene - Chanakya mentions name of Radhagupta - I had read he was Chanakya's grandson & huge supporter of Ashoka later.

I feel all the actors need to work on their acting actually...the casting is bang on, but all are not exactly in their best shape yet

Heya Hiru! 🤗 I absolutely second you! The cast is superb but they need to brush up their performances a little more. But I had probably way too high expectations with Chanakya's portrayal and that's why I came out pretty disappointed. He seemed way too plain and lacked the strong & luminous persona IMO. Lets hope they put on a better show in the upcoming episodes. 😊

This man Manoj is portraying character of Chanakya from last more then 20 years

kinda agree, one would expect chanakya to look very shrewd
