So, I am midst my annual exams and a bloody hectic MUN, and ho! Here I am with a lame, impromptu OS. Because, well, writing down figments of my careless imagination is the best stress buster. 😆
In the era of some borderline annoying drama in QH, I was in dire need of some light moments. As usual, my thoughts wandered and a little, happy sequence popped up and that's all I pen down here. It has both SaHil and SeHan with equal footage. 😊
Notes:
*This is has no Billi Drama. Like, I have totally exempted the character Tanveer. None of my time and words wasted on her.
*The twins were not separated. They both spent their childhood together.
*To avoid any interference, Sanam and Rehaan were never involved. Not even infatuation.
*Dlishad's back, all healthy. I kinda miss her.
*I was teensy weensy confused on Seher's persona, as her transition from con woman (Sunheri) to Seher was poorly directed, and so I have portrayed her JUST like Zoya. She always reminds of her. :') 😊
ALL SMILES
"I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!" Sanam shouted at the top of her voice, causing Seher to topple over her own bowl of kheer.
"Relax, Sunshine", she said, placing a shoulder around her hyperventilating sister. "You are reacting as if I am pregnant!"
"Seher!" Sanam reprimanded her twin for her ever-so careless words, but she was too happy to even pretend to be angry at her. "I can't wait to tell Aahil about this", Sanam added, excited like a child.
"Woah, hold your horses, Sunshine. You aren't telling your husband a word till tomorrow evening", Seher stated, returning back to more important things, that is, her kheer.
"But why?!" Sanam screamed, evidently scandalized. "You know I can't lie to Aahil." Sanam was stricken with this new found worry in her paradise, and when she saw her twin licking away the bowl of kheer to glory, she said exasperatedly. "Seher! Please, please, please! Please let me tell Aahil."
Seher was amused. And Sanam's too good to be true goodness never failed to amuse her. Was this woman for real? People like her rarely existed, and though Seher valued and cherished her sister, she couldn't help but muse over her weird sense of goodness.
"Dude, you don't have to lie to him. Just hide it from him. And Sanam! It's hardly a matter of 24 hours. Even less, in fact", Seher explained. But when she saw the inherent stubborn frown still adorning her sister's pretty face, she had to play her trump card. "Meri khaatir, Sunshine?" she asked, sporting her trademark puppy face.
"Fine. I hate you, though.", Sanam said grumpily. Seher laughed victoriously, throwing her arms around Sanam. "I love you too, Sunshine."
"I hate than name, too", Sanam said even more grumpily, and hugged back Seher at the same time.
"But aren't you?" Seher said. "Our life's sunshine, spreading warmth and happiness everywhere."
Sanam smiled. "I'm so happy for you, Sheru", she whispered.
"EH!" Seher said, pulling back from Sanam's hold. "I downright detest that name", she announced, banging the bed dramatically.
"But aren't you?" Sanam mimicked cheekily. "The toofani tiger of our lives?"
Before Seher could give a witty come back to that, a voice echoed from the hall. "Sanam!" It was the deep, husky baritone of the Nawab of Bhopal, Mr. Aahil Raza Ibrahim, who was back from work. And everyday, the first thing he uttered entering the house was his Begum's name.
"Lo aa gaya bulawa", Seher said. "I swear Sunshine, what magic have you done over Jeeju? He is such a joru ka ghulaam", she joked.
Sanam hit her arm playfully, and got up to make her way to her bedroom. Wifely duties beckon, after all.
Seher watched her Sunshine's retreating back, and smiled broadly. After so much struggle and hardship, they were all finally in a happy space. She wished Badi Ammi was here, and could not wait to meet her.
Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone's ringtone playing on full volume. The rustic music of "Blue Eyes" announced a call, and Seher reached for her phone. Seeing his name flash on the screen, she blushed despite herself.
"Hi", she said, shockingly soft. This man did something to her, tamed her madness with his overwhelming love.
"Seher", he said, in his even, silky voice.
She closed her eyes, relishing his voice. Though she had been with him only this morning, she had missed that voice so much.
"Seher? Snap out of it", he said, laughing.
She did, coming back to herself. "Mr. Rehaan Imraan Qureshi", she said. "You were supposed to call me when you reach Agra. And I am sure that had happened quite some time back."
Rehaan smiled. He could almost visualize her blushing crimson, but putting forward her nautankis to hide it. "I forgot, Seher. Maybe I was a bit too lost in the memories of the previous night?" he said cheekily.
And had he been there, he would have witnessed Seher's face go plain white, then deep red and finally dash in the pillow, hiding herself from herself. Her heart skipped numerous beats as she remembered last night.
"Seher Ahmed Khan, give me the privilege of marrying you. I am ready to handle all your nautankis, bear all your nakhdas and fulfill every wild demand. Marry me."
The words were etched in her mind, and her heart still fluttered as she recalled them. Needless to say, she had accepted the proposal only too eagerly. And what had followed, and was brought to a painful end mid-way, was something that made Seher dig herself deeper in the pillow, heat rising up her body, some invisible hand ticking her in all the places.
"Seher, you there?" Rehaan asked softly, he himself lost in the beautiful memories of the previous night.
"Hmm", she answered, and after some seconds of an encompassing silence, Seher regained her composure and manged to say. "I told Sunshine."
"Aren't we discussing the minutes of last night, Madam", Rehaan teased her.
"Rehaan!" she said, in an attempt to scold, but her voice was too feeble. She heard him laugh victoriously. She wasn't that easy to defeat. "You stop now, Mr. Qureshi", Seher said, "or it won't take me longer than a second to break the news to your Aahil Bhai."
"Woah", Rehaan said, chucking. "That's more like my Seher."
Seher smiled, and Rehaan wished he could see that pompous, victorious smile adorn her face, her eyes light up, and that twinkle swirl in the caramel pool that take his breath away, once again. "By when will you be back? Sunshine's impatient already", Seher said, laughing.
Her words brought back Rehaan, and he laughed along. "Typically Sanam. I knew she won't be able to keep it from Aahil Bhai."
"Tch, I will make her keep her mouth shut. But even that is not possible for a long time. So, you have to come soon!" Seher said.
"Is that the only reason you want me home soon, or some other unfinished work?" Rehaan asked in an almost seductive voice.
Allah, he is on a roll today, Seher thought. But two could play this game. "You know Sunshine is just an excuse, don't you? I just cannot wait to kiss those yummy lips again", Seher said, matching Rehaan's seductive tone, if not better.
Rehan was stumped for a second. That was not a reply he was expecting. But isn't that his Seher? Unpredictable and unprecedented. He smiled, and whispered."That's why I love you like no tomorrow. I'll be back by eight in the evening tomorrow."
Seher smiled. "Come soon", she whispered, before hanging up.

Meanwhile, Sanam was wandering in the corridors of the Ibrahim Mansion, avoiding to face Aahil. She had already heard him call out her name thrice. But Sanam knew herself too well. She just could not keep secrets, and certainly not from three people- Badi Ammi, Sheru and Aahil.
Worried crazy, that lest she spilled the beans, Sanam reluctantly made her way to the bedroom. From the doorstep, she saw her husband's back. His bare back.
Aahil was only wearing his track pants, and probably looking for a fresh shirt in his wardrobe. Seeing the flawlessly sculpted back, the perfectly located depressions, the rawness of his olive skin, and a exclusive scent that made him officially edible- Sanam forgot all her worries. Heck, she forgot everything.
"Sanam yaar!" Aahil shouted again, impatiently, oblivious of his wife's ogling. His screech brought Sanam back from AahilLand, and she thought. This is the prefect plan. I forget everything, make him forget everything. No scope of any spill.
Smiling both shyly and slyly, Sanam closed the door behind her, putting on the latch. Aahil turned around, hearing her come in. "Sanam, meri white..." He stopped in his tracks, seeing Sanam poised on the door, leaning back, a rare sexy expression gracing her otherwise innocent face.
Aahil raised his eyebrows at her, and Sanam walked towards him wordlessly. She pushed him backwards, tracing the skin on his chest lightly with her fingers. Disoriented, Aahil watched her amazed, and was soon pinned to the wall.
Sanam traced her index finger over Aahil's abdomen, making circles near his belly button. Enough with teasing, Aahil caught hold of her hand, and pulled her towards him, their bodies against each other. "Kya baat hai, Begum Sahiba?" Aahil said in his husky voice, his breath brushing over Sanam's lips.
Sanam circled Aahil's neck with her hands, and pecked the hollow of his neck. Aahil raised his eyebrows again, quiet taken aback by his wife's changed demeanor. "Aaj bada pyaar aa raha hai humpe", he said, lifting up her face. "Not that I am complaining", Aahil added, stroking Sanam's cheek with his knuckles.
"Shhh", Sanam said, moving closer to Aahil, and standing on her tiptoes. She placed her finger over Aahil's lips, and leaned near his ear. She whispered, as Aahil hid his face in her hair, and inhaled her heavenly scent. "Baatein kam, kaam zyada", she said.
Aahi smiled against her hair, and whispered back. "Jo hukum, Begum Sahiba."
With that, Aahil carried his wife in his arms to fulfill her demand. Needless to say, Sanam's mission was accomplished. She was safe till the morning.
*********************************************************************************************************
Aahil was seated in the living area by the pool, where Sanam and him had got a little coffee table installed, where they shared morning tea and evening coffee. He was engrossed in his file, when a cup of tea, with the trademark Sanam aroma, was kept on the table. Naturally assuming it to be Sanam, Aahil caught the hand.
But for some reason, Sanam's skinny hand was a tad more fleshy. Preoccupied with the readings of the file, Aahil looked up perplexed. And withdrew his hand in the speed of Usain Bolt when he saw Lateef standing in front of him, blushing away to glory.
"Sorry", he muttered, embarrassed.
"Haaye Aahil baba", Lateef said. "Aap aisi galtiyaan baar baar karein."
"Lateef!" Aahil huffed. "Anyway, Sanam kahaan hai?" Aahil asked, getting down to more important things.
"Sanam toh kitchen mein hai, aur kahaan", Lateef answered, matter-of-factly.
"I mean", Aahil said, already irritated, "Why isn't she here? She knows we have the tea together."
"Woh toh mujhe nahi pata", Lateef said. "Par haan, she has given a note for you", he added, wagging a piece of paper in front of Aahil.
"Note?" Aahil said, taking the chit. "Toh yeh pehle nahi de sakte the?" he said to Lateef, annoyed by his morning ritual being disturbed. "Ab jaao."
"Haan, mujhe waise bhi kaafi kaam hai", Lateef said, and made his way back.
Aahil opened the note and it read:
Aahil,
I am busy this morning. Can't have tea with you. Will see you in the evening. Sorry. Bye. I love you.
~Sanam.
"What the!" Aahil said, perplexed. How busy was she that she couldn't come and even meet him? What urgent work must have come up? But before he could make sense out of this, he was met with another shock. His saali, Seher Ahemed Khan, who didn't leave her bed before 11, was all up and about at 8 in the morning.
"Seher?" he called out to her.
"Jeeju!" she greeted him, in her usual chirpy voice. "Good morning, handsome", she said, winking at him, and taking the chair in front of him.
"Good morning to you too, beautiful", he said, laughing. The chalk and cheese kind dissimilarity of his Biwi and Saali always succeeded in amusing him.
"Where is Sunshine? Oh wait, let me take a picture of you, without Sanam!" Seher excitedly jumped to her feet and fished out her phone from her jeans pocket.
"What? Why?" Aahil asked, rightfully confused.
"Say cheese!" Seher said, ignoring his query. Aahil, bending to his Sahil Sahiba's demands, flashed a million dollar grin. Seher clicked the picture, and satisfied, resumed her seat.
"May I know why were you so eager to click me without Sanam?" Aahil asked, as Seher showed him the photograph proudly.
"Of course, Jeeju! See, it's very simple", she began in a business like manner. "Whenever you are inside the mansion, you are always with Sunshine. And if not physically present with her, either calling out her name, asking about her whereabouts or, often, lost in her thoughts." Aahil chuckled sheepishly, and Seher continued. "So, the rare moment, when there is no trace of your Begum jaan around you, just had to be captured."
"Well, I am sorry to disappoint you, Saali Sahiba, but I am sitting here with Sanam's note", Aahil said, showing Seher the paper. "Tough luck", he added with a smile.
"Damn!" Seher laughed. "Stupid me, wishing the impossible. By the way, what is that? A love letter?" Seher asked, wiggling her eyebrows at Aahil.
"No", Aahil said, disappointment clear in his voice. "It says she is busy and can't meet me this morning. Weird, don't you think?" he said, back to the original worry.
Seher just twitched her lips. She knew exactly why, and even mentally did a faceplam at her sister's lame attempts at avoiding Aahil. She wondered how the secret had lasted the whole night.
"Anyway", Aahil said. "What makes you wake up so early?" he asked, sipping his tea. At least the tea filled in for Sanam's presence.
"Just a good day", Seher said, shrugging. Aahil did not miss the dreamy smile on her face.
What's with everyone acting so weird today, he wondered.
Just then, Seher's phone rang, and she was on her feet as soon as the first beat of Blue Eyes played. "I need to go, Jeeju", she said hurriedly. "Be home by eight today! Bye, love you."
And before Aahil could ask why, she had already ran off.
"These sisters will make me go crazy", he sighed, and resumed reading his file.
*********************************************************************************************************
In the Evening:
Aahil was driving back home, and his watch showed the time to be five minutes to eight. One of the reasons why he was heading back home an hour early than his usual time was certainly his Saali Sahiba's request, or rather, order. But the focal reason was Sanam. She hadn't picked up any of his calls all day, and had given cryptic replies to his messages, like, "Will talk to you later." "I am busy, sorry. See you soon." Aahil was perplexed, and exasperated. Something was certainly amiss.
One more weird incident had occurred in the afternoon. Aahil had called up Rehaan to inquire about his return from Agra. And Rehaan stammered and fumbled like he had been caught red handed doing something terribly wrong.
"Aahil bahi, aap, hello, sab theek hai na?" Aahil could swear he must be shivering.
"Relax, Rehaan. I just wanted to ask by when will you be back."
"Eight. I meant around eight, Aahil bhai. Whenever you say. You will be home, right? No, you must be in office. Okay." He was rambling.
"Rehaan, Rehaan. Relax, dude. I will see you soon, I guess", Aahil had said, hanging up. His brother was clearly not in a sate to talk.
How unlike Rehaan, who was always calm and sorted, Aahil thought. But then, wasn't everyone unlike themselves today?
Aahil entered the mansion, and was met by Sanam's sight, for the first time in the whole day. He smiled, for a moment, all the confusion in his mind evaporating. But then he noticed what Sanam was doing, and when he became aware of the attendance of his drawing room, the confusion was back.
Sanam was roaming around the living area with a tray in her hand, which had coffee mugs, and Lateef was following her with another tray, that had kebabs and other snacks.
Aahil saw Badi Ammi, Rahat, Haya, Seher and Rehaan seated around the living room. They all were dressed up more than ususal, and Badi Ammi was now giving Seher a bear hug, with evidently teary eyes.
"Sanam?" Aahil said, and the hall fell silent. Everyone looked at him, all at once, as if he was standing there naked. Aahil looked back at each of them, confusion written all over his face. "Aap sab yahaan? Badi Ammi? Aap Chandigarh se kab aayi?" Aahil started to say, as he went up to Dislhad and hugged her.
"Woh mujhe Rehaan le aaya, Aahil", she said, smiling at him. "Kaise ho tum beta?"
"Jee, sab khairyat hai", Aahil said, in an unsure voice, at which everyone laughed. He looked back at Sanam questioningly, who was smiling too.
"Aahil bhai", Rehaan said, walking up to him, and they were now standing in the center of the sitting area. "I have something very important to tell you. In fact, to ask you."
"Haan, Rehaan?" Aahil asked, uncertainly.
"Aahil bhai, you're a father figure to me. And whatever I do or achieve in life, nothing and no one is more important than you are. And so, I seek your approval for everything."
"Rehaan", Aahil said, holding him by the shoulders. "Baat kya hai?"
"I'm in love, Aahil bhai", he said, and Aahil's jaw fell open in shock. "WHAT! You're in love?"
Rehaan smiled. "Jee, Aahil bhai. And I want to marry her."
"Ya Allah Rehaan!" Aahil said, at loss of words. "That's..that's amazing! Who is she?" Aahil asked. And Rehaan just gave him a smile in return, indicating, you are smart enough.
And then it dawned to him. He saw Sanam smiling broadly at him, Badi Ammi looking over them with teary eyes, Haya, Rehat flanking Seher, and Seher, adorning the rarest expression- a shy, soft blush.
"OH. MY. GOD. YOU AND SEHER?!" Aahil said almost to himself, and the audience laughed out loud. "God, Rehaan. I am so happy for you", Aahil said, engulfing him in a hug.
"Kab? Kaise?" Aahil asked.
"During the Kohinoor Project, Aahil bhai. When Seher was working with us", Rehaan answered shyly.
"And you are telling me now?" Aahil asked, mocking hurt.
"So much was going on, Aahil bhai, mauka hi nahi mila. Now that everything is finally back to normal, we thought of getting married. And I wanted to break this news to you myself."
"Normal nahi mere bhai, this is absolutely amazing", Aahil said, taking Rehaan into another hug. He ruffled his little brother's hair, and whispered. "Allah tumhe humehsa khush rakhe."
And then his eyes fell upon his dear Saali. "Saali Sahiba", he said, waling up to Seher and kneeling down next to her. "Aapne to humara dil tod diya", Aahil joked, his eyes brimming with tears of happiness.
"Don't worry, handsome", Seher said. "Nikah ke baad, pehla affair aap ke saath", she teased him, her voice heavy with emotions.
Aahil laughed. "Deal, Saali Sahiba", he said getting up, taking Seher by her hand. He walked up to Rehaan, and Sanam joined them.
"But Rehaan", Aahil said. "You have to agree to a little condition before I grant you permission."
"Bataye na, Aahil bhai", Rehan said.
"Humaari Saali Sahiba ko kabhi bhi koi takleef nahi honi chahye. It's your responsibility to keep her smiling, always", Aahil said, putting his arm around Seher. Sanam looked from Rehaan's side, thanking her lucky stars to bring a man like Aahil in her life.
"Always, Aahil bhai, I promise", he said, looking Seher in the eye. She smiled at him, sniffing. "Jeeju, guarantee kya hai?" she asked, nudging Aahil.
"Guarantee main leti hoon, Sheru", Sanam cut in. "Mera dewar, is one in a million. You won't find a guy more loyal and loving than him. Tujh jaisi paagal ko yeh mil gaya, yahi bohot badi baat hai", Sanam said, holding Rehaan's arm.
Everyone laughed at that remark, and Seher stared at Sanam in mock anger.
"Bohot mazaak ho gaya", Badi Ammi said. "Ab ring ceremony kar lein?" She brought the rings to the couple, and Haya and Rahat joined.
Rehaan took Seher by the hand, while Aahil went up and held Sanam by the waist. She tugged at his shirt and whispered, "I am so sorry for ignoring you all day."
Aahil whispered in her ear. "Punishment's due for tonight, sweetheart."
Rehaan went down on his knee and slipped the solitaire in Seher's finger. He kissed her hands, and whispered against them, "I love you." He stood up, and Seher made Rehaan wear his silver band, conveying from her eyes that she does too, and always will. As everyone applauded, Rehaan hugged Seher, who was now officially his fiance.
Aahil and Sanam watched the most important people in their lives, after each other, get together in the pious tie of marriage- nikah. Sanam turned in Aahil's hold and hugged him. "I love you, Aahil", she whispered. "I love you too, Sanam", he said.
"Aahil?" she said after a while, seeing Rehaan and Seher hug Haya and Rahat. "This is not a dream, right?"
"Bilkul nahi", Aahil whispered. "It's all smiles from now."
