All Time Top Overseas And Worldwide Weekends, PK Ranks Among Top

Shahrukh Khan starrer ''Happy New Year'' was much awaited release and film fulfilled all expectations. Film managed to create new record on opening day in domestic circuit and now film has also delivered some sort of big numbers in overseas as well as worldwide market.

Film collected 7.25 million dollar (44.30 cr) over weekend in overseas market which was 2nd best of all time only behind ''Dhoom 3''. Film created new record in UK with highest weekend ever (10 cr plus) which is quite a stagnant market as far as Hindi films are concerned. Though from high standards of Shahrukh Khan, it did underperformed a bit.

Film grossed 189 cr worldwide in 3 days and that is only 2nd to ''Dhoom 3'' (207 cr). This was a huge figure surpassing big hits like ''Kick'', and ''Chennai Express''. Film can become 2nd highest grosser in terms of lifetime numbers if it continues at same pace. But Aamir Khan starrer 'PK' collected 8 million dollar in overseas which was 2nd best weekend of all time only behind last year release 'Dhoom 3'. Film collected 95 cr nett in domestic market over weekend and thus 146 cr nett worldwide which was 4th best weekend worldwide ever.

PK Crosses The 150 Cr Mark In 6 Days | 1st Wednesday Box Office Collections

PK remained rock steady over its sixth day as well. The film collected 19.56 crores on its first Wednesday i.e. Day 6 and now stands with a total collection of whopping 154.84 crores at the domestic box office.

The film is performing extremely strong in multiplexes and with a Christmas holiday on Thursday i.e. today, the advance bookings have shown a good response and the film will surely get a good peak. The Rajkumar Hirani film has received a lot of appreciation from critics as well as audiences.

Starring Aamir Khan in the lead, PK has been consistent in the mass circuits too. The urban centers such as Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore are excellent. Looking at its current pace, PK may have a brilliant first week with collections estimated around 188-190 crores, which will be the Highest 1st Week Collections of All Time.

I love it when such movies do well. Content def. matters!

IMO, their marketing strategy is the best. Keeping the story under wraps. Even from the trailer you can't really get what the it's about. Builds curiosity. And eventually, WOM is key.

Amazing indeed. At the rate its going it is gonna beat Kick's lifetime (highest grosser this year and 2nd of all time) in 10 days. Insane trending.

And if the WOM is indeed like 3 Idiots, I shudder to think what will happen when its all said and done.
