Chunky Pandey's brother Chikky testifies for Salman Khan in the drink and drive case
The
hearing for the 2002 hit and run case, where Salman Khan was accused of
culpable homicide and rash driving, was held yesterday. During the
hearing, one of Salman Khan's childhood friends and also the brother of
actor Chunky Pandey, Chikky testified for his friend and claimed that
the actor hadn't consumed liquor during the incident.
Apparently, Chikky mentioned that he visited Salman Khan's house six
hours after the accident, at around 9.30 am when he learned about it
from the guards at his building. When he met Salman Khan, knowing the
bond that they share, he hugged to pacify the nervous actor and also
told the court that the superstar did not smell of alcohol during that
time. Further adding that the Land Cruiser did not belong to Salman
Khan, Chikky explained that the car belonged to Abdul Rehman Husain.
Salman had helped him to clear the import duties of the vehicle which
was imported from Dubai and he was to use the car until Abdul cleared
his debts. For elaborating on the process of import duties, Custom
clearance agent Salim Patel was called to testify in the hearing.
However, the person missing from the hearing was Salman Khan. The reason
was said to be that the actor was busy with the wedding preparations of
his sister. While his rakhi sister Shwetha Rohira tied the knot with
long time beau and actor Pulkit Samrat recently, his other sister Arpita
Khan will marry her boyfriend Aayush on November 18. The next hearing
date will be on November 24 and 25 for which Salman Khan has been
summoned by the court and the other witnesses will be examined in front
of him.
