Discussion in going on Mani interference in IshRa's life and on Raman's emotions but I wanted to make a post on Ishita.
When Raman told Ishita (quite abruptly) to eat, she refused. At this point I thought she had the right to do so because why not. But in fact i was mostly thinking about Raman's anger : when i get shouted at, you can be sure i'll do the opposite of what i'm asked. That's why i didn't see anything wrong with ishita's refusal.
But then i thought of all this staff that was on strike but when back on working for HER only.
I also thought of all the people who doesn't get medical care and here she was, getting all the attention they could give to her but she was refusing to do her part of the healing process, she was refusing to eat.
She mentioned that she couldn't break her fast because she promised it to Toshi. I think that she has misconception of what Toshi expect of her. We all know that toshi is quick to anger and to take the opposite side of Ishita, but didn't she show her mother side too? I have a hard time believing that Toshi would put that promise over her bahu's health, over her son's wife's health, over her grand daugher's mother's health.
She also said "jaan ki baat kahan se agayi ?i'm fine, i'm not that weak". Well Ishu, i'm pretty sure that if they hadn't brought you to the hospital and put a glucose drip in your veins, you would be in a coma right now.
When she said "I won't eat for Raman, or for Mani or for my own health." I was literally angry at her. What is that ? An invitation to death? Is fasting more important that one's own health? Wasn't she being too stubborn right here? I was quite shocked by her words.
Also on a practical thought : i don't know much about fasting but i know a bit about the muslim fast : when a person is sick, they are allowed to break the fast. And when a person gets unconscious like she did, the fast is automatically considered as broken because one does not feel the fast when they are unconscious. What I mean is that fasting are never a way for God to break us down, God and divinities understand human's majbooryaa just like Ruhi perfectly explained it ! So why was Ishita still so stuck on her fast? If she has been fasting since childhood, doesn't she now that type of rules?
I've had a hard time watching the scene with Ruhi because to see her crying breaks my heart so i skipped the scene twice before finally coming around to it. When i watched it, it broke my heart because of Ruhi's crying, but also because it reminded me of something that happened to me. When i was younger, my mother got hospitalized for an heart attack. And i when i went to visit, she started crying because she couldn't bear to know that her children were waiting for her at home and that she wasn't there for them. How could Ishita, as a mother, forget that she had Ruhi waiting for her, alone, at home. Yes there were other persons with her, but IshRU bond is special and Ruhi can't even sleep without her mother; so as long as Ishita is not by her side, she is "alone" in someway.
Basically i understand devotion and piety but i really had a problem with ishita's attitude today.
