On Tuesday, a new track started - that of the downfall of Sharifuddin.
Just as Maya preceded Krishna's birth and warned Kansa about his imminent downfall, a little girl is born to Bakshi to sound the "death knell" of SD.
On Tuesday, we saw SD pronouncing ominously to Bakshi that she had to deliver a boy child and that she shouldn't even think of a girl at that moment. She tried to tell him that it was not in the hands of a woman to decide whether the child would be a girl or a boy and that it was all decided by Allah. But he would hear none of it.
A frightened Bakshi informs SD that she has delivered a boy, just to buy time, hoping that he will get attached to the child and will gradually accept her as his own. Little does she know her husband and his narrow-minded thinking.😕
She pleads with the Hakima to keep the gender of the child a secret till she herself reveals all. The good-natured Hakima agrees reluctantly.
God knows how long Bakshi intended to carry on her act, hoping in Fate not to get caught. Unfortunately for her, the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. So does her poorly thought out one. For Jodha, (who else, ?), discovers the secret in just her second visit to the child. Bakshi tries to gag her by a zubaan, but, Krishna has other plans. And without intending to, Jodha lets out to Salima BEgum about Bakshi's secret. 👏
The ever-practical Salima Begum first wants to inform Jalal immediately. But he is away. She then decides to approach Malika-e-azam, Hamida Bano. All the royal ladies are shocked by both Bakshi's misrepresentation of facts and SD's antipathy towards girls. Hamida leads a delegation to Bakshi's hojra to confront her on this issue.
At the same time, SD takes the child for a ritual (circumcision ?) and discovers the secret, to his shock and anger. Tonight we will see what happens when all of these parties congregate in Bakshi's room. The story is interestingly poised. 😊
I am leaving the discussion open with regard to Bakshi's behavior in this situation. Please post freely whether you agree or disagree with what Bakshi has done.
Personally I do not approve of it. But some may say that she did it to save the child from SD's wrath and possible harm. Should she have taken her brother or mother into confidence or did she do right in safeguarding the reputation of her husband?
Does saving the life of an innocent child justify cheating one's family, including the emperor, and the awaam? One day, the truth will be out and then what will be Jalal's reputation in front of his people?
Isn't this lady being extremely selfish in only thinking of her own life, marriage and child first and always? Earlier too, she had easily acquiesced to SD's plan to implicate Jodha in the FP case, just to please her husband.
Even now, she has no plan in her mind. She is just trusting to Allah that her idea will work. It's really amazing how this royal lady behaves. She never thinks of her family's honour and is never worried about hurting any of her family members, esp her loving brother. She is totally cut off from them, in spite of living in the harem and never bothers about their problems. She should consider herself lucky that she has such a loving and caring family who take such good care of her, in spite of her self-centred ways. Ignoring them, she shows complete devotion to SD who only treats her with contempt.
Oh! What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!
To cover her lie, she is forcing others around her to be deceitful and cheat Jalal and Hamida. The poor Hakima cannot be dishonest with her profession or king, yet she cannot disobey the sister of the king.
Jodha is tied with a zubaan - she is torn between her desire to be completely honest and transparent with Jalal and the word she has given Bakshi. Luckily she is delivered from this subterfuge by Kanha.
But now it seems that Bakshi is vexed with Jodha for revealing the truth to Hamida. It would be interesting to see what she does "to get even with Jodha". As it is, she is uncomfortable with Jodha because of her husband's obsession with the latter. She is afraid to say anything to her husband and is OK with watching her husband misbehaving with her bhabhi (equal to her mother, in our culture), even when the latter is pregnant. But she doesn't mind being sharp-tongued with Jodha and ask her not to come to her hojra.
At first, I thought that this is because she is concerned for Jodha and doesn't want her falling prey to SD's antics. But this sudden concern doesn't gel with her earlier rudeness with Jodha. Then I understood that she is only faking concern to keep Jodha away from her husband.

This track is obnoxious because once again the CVs are lowering the image of a legendary queen. After the ignominious Khyber track in which they showed Jodha running off with Khyber and spending the night with him in a hut, now this!
Why????
In the olden days, there was a lot of protocol that was followed wrt how people behaved around royalty, esp the king and queen. I remember Jalal had once curtly told Ben that no one could sit near him till he said so. In fact, during the Ben track, Jalal asked Jodha also to follow protocol around him a few times.
When a queen visits someone in their hojra, an announcement is made and the place is cleared of all males, apart from her husband, brother, son or father. It is impossible for someone like SD to be standing next to her and touching her so easily.
There is a limit to NR. I can understand showing the girl child track in the name of NR. But showing someone behaving so grossly with a Queen, that too, a Chief Queen who is expecting babies, is beyond permissible etiquette.
How did the portrait of Jodha land in SD's custody again? Or is it a new one? Even if SD had to be shown obsessing with Jodha, it could have been more decently shown without actual facial expressions and groping with hands. Isn't this supposed to be a family show?
When will Jalal learn about the surung to Jodha's hojra and confront SD? Tomorrow in the proposed MahaShukravar?
I really wish Jalal gives him a befitting punishment for behaving so crassly with the queen and his wife and to-be MUZ. And also for abusing Bakshi and pressurising her to deliver only a boy. (as if a woman can just ask God for a boy and pay for it!)

More than anything, I want this track to be wound up tomorrow - whether SD is punished or he flees - this track should end.
I cannot see a woman and a queen be so degraded by the CVs for the sake of TRPs. 🤢

Please tell me that this track isn't true! That would be the worst possible snippet of history for me.
PS: I also cannot forgive the CVs for showing Jodha to be so naive that she cannot guess SD's intentions.😡
