The two troubles are just speechless for a while (very unusual for their type) then suddenly

AN: Masi is this a joke

N: That Kirpa, she is such a pethatic thing, she couldn't get hold of Angad so now she worked her charms on Prithvi and she is marrying him quickly so that he doesn't have a chance to re-think.

AN: Masi have you noticed that Angad has been out of the house a lot and Karthik has missed a couple of meetings at the office too, do you think that they are at dadi's helping out for the wedding

N: how can that be, Angad hates Kirpa (open ur eyes lady)

AN: but he is a changed man since he came back from his holiday and to think of it he came back early and was very disturbed.

N: (hmmmmmmmmmmm)

Next morning Angad and Karthik come down dressed nicely, Naina, Anita and Mr Khanna are sitting at the table having breakfast.

Mr K: Where are you two of to dressed all smartly, some meeting?

KA: No papa I have cancelled my morning meeting, there is a little get together at Dadi's, we are going there.

N: Oh so r we not invited

A: No its only for people close to the bride and groom. (Acid)

KA: we will be back very late so don't wait up.

N: (descretly to Anita) whats with Karthik

The two brothers drive up to Bose residence and pick up Mishti and Mrs Bose. Mishti is looking very pretty in a yellow and green plain lehnga and Damini Bose has a black and blue Saree on. Before they leave Angad goes to Prithvi and

A: 3 days left Prithvi, are you still counting

P: What do you think, I cant wait to see her it has been 4 long days (he has the love of the world in his eyes)

A: I have a surprise for you, you will get it today.

The foursome go to dadi's house where they are putting up decorations for the wedding. Kirpa is ready to go to the parlour for her pre wedding treatment but dadi's driver is off sick, dadi will not allow Kirpa to go by herself.

M: Dadi can I take her, I have to see my hairdresser as well.

KA: I will drive you two there, ok.

D: Yes that would be ideal.

K: Thanks Mishti

They leave in dadi's car while Angad is finalising the drinks, entre and main meal list so he could give the order to the hotel where Prithvi had proposed (just because Kirpa liked the food over there)

Karthik drops Kirpa at the parlour and promises to pick her up in 2 hours. Karthik and Mishti are sitting in the car, Mishti realises that Karthik keeps looking at her (doosey eyed). Karthik stops the car infront of a shop

KA: I will be back in a minute

M: ok, I'll just wait in the car

Karthik goes in the shop and buys Hugo Boss Deep Red and gets it gift wrapped. He goes back to the car and hands the gift to mishti.

M: What is this

KA: its just a small gift for you, open it

M: (flattered) thanks

She unwraps it and is amazed to see that it is her favourite perfume (my fav)

M: Karthik how did you know that I like deep red?

K: (being a man of few words) just a guess

Then he drops Mishti at her hair dressers and tells her he will be back in 1 hour. He goes to the office and checks some paper work and sign some documents that are needed urgently, he picks up some work that he can do from work and leaves to pick up Mishti. Once on there way to pick up Kirpa the tyre punctures and the spare is punctured as well. Karthik is frustrated but mishti tells him to relax and calls Angad on his mobile,

M: Angad where are you

A: I am at the restaurant, just finished the food order

M: good, u are near the parlour. The bad news is that Dadi's car has a puncture, it will take an hour or two to repair can u pick up Kirpa as she will be free in 20 mins.

A: Ok, I'll leave straight away, you don't worry

KA: Good thinking Mishti, you solve problems so easily, not just a beautiful face ( he goes all soft again)

M: stop it Karthik, you are praising me too much.

In the meantime Angad goes and picks up Kirpa, he tells her about the puncture.

A: Kirpa I met Prithvi today he is missing you so much, he hasn't spoken to you for 4 days and he looks like a lost soul.

K: I know he did call but was told off by dadi!!

A: I feel for the guy so what I am going to do is keep everyone busy once we get home and you can talk to him on my mobile. If anyone asks I'll just tell them that u r resting.

K: Thanks Angad

A: no problem

They get home, the decorations are up and it is looking very pretty, Mrs Sharma asks if they should serve lunch but

K: Mishti and Karthik will be back in an hour so we should wait, I want to rest till then.

D: Ok beta you have had a long morning, go to your room.

K: thanks dadi

Angad leaves the grown ups busy talking and slips from there unnoticed. He goes to Kirpa's room and dials Prithvi's number.

P: Hello

A: Hi how r u

P: same as this morning

A: I have been very busy all day I think this is the last job I am going to do today

P: what is it

He hands the phone to Kirpa and leaves the room

K: Hello Prithvi

P: Oh hi Kirpa

K: Angad has changed a lot

P: Yes he is. He had promised me a surprise this morning and this is brilliant

K: If I cant see you atleast I am able to hear your voice thanks to Angad.

They have a nice loving chat for an hour. Then dadi comes up calling Kirpa's name. She hurriedly

K: Oh Prithvi, I have to go dadi is her, if she catches me we are in trouble

P: I feel like a child again and I am enjoying it, you go bye

K: Bye see you in 3 days

Dadi enters the room as Kirpa hides the phone and pretends to yawn and get out of bed.

D: beta come down for lunch, everyone is waiting for the bride to be

K: (BLUSHES)ok dadi, I'll be there in a minute

She freshens up and all of them have a pleasant lunch. Kirpa looks at Angad with gratitude in her eyes and Angad acknowledges. All the while there is this thing going on between Mishti and Karthik (ankhion hi ankhion mai teri meri baat hoi). Again love is in the air.

Angad and Karthik leave to drop Mishti and Mrs Bose at home. When they reach to Bose residence, Mishti remembers that she had to drop an invitation at her friend's house. Karthik offers to take her, Mrs Bose invites Angad in while Karthik is taking Mishti for the errand.

M: I don't have to go to a friends house Karthik, I just wanted to spend some more time with you

KA: I don't understand Mishti

M: I think you do, but you have always been the quite one to speak up. I have seen you very closely today, you are always over shadowed by Angad. Even at home, I have only seen you in the background, today I saw you and your love for me in your eyes and gestures. I want to tell you that I am flattered by all this. I have never felt like this, I can see it in your eyes….

KA: (In a very lost voice)what can you see Mishtiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

M: an ocean of love for me, I want to spend time with you to discover you. I never thought you would be so interesting, even without speaking so much, you have said so much today. You have said what counts. You know my likes and dislikes, can we be friends and see where this takes us?

KA: I would be honoured

M: Its getting late now, can we go home.

Karthik takes her home and like a gentleman opens the door for her. She gets out and invites Karthik in the house. He declines and asks Mishti to send Angad out.

A: Karthik lets go

A: Hello (waving a hand infront of him)

KA: oh sorry I didn't know you had come

A: I can see that, whats up brother

KA: nothing

A: don't give me that, you were lost in ur thoughts all day today. If I didn't know you I would say that u were in love ( and lets out a laugh)

KA: (in a dreamy voice) I am in love

A: What, When, How, who with………………….

KA: It's the most beautiful, caring person in the world. I didn't even have to tell her, she just read my eyes and knew. I will love her all my life and she has given me a chance to show her by being my friend, can u believe it she wants to spend time with me.

They go home and both go towards there rooms as it is too late.

A: Good luck bhai

KA: Don't need it Lady Luck is with me now.

A: (Thinking of the time, when he realised he was in love with Kirpa) I hope you are right bhai because I don't want anyone to suffer like I am suffering but I deserved it.

Next morning, everyone gets up really early, Angad comes down to the dinning table where Karthik is already having breakfast.

A: Going to work really early bhai?

KA: No I have taken care of the important stuff at work, I am now heading to the wedding house.

A: then wait up as I am heading that way too.

KA: No you are not, you are going to the Brides house and I am going to the grooms!!!

A: OK, so you now are changing parties because Mishti is there, but go for it bhai, you hardly enjoy urself, you know with mum always pushing you to look after the business and me towards my career.

N: Oh my two boys, where have u been, I have hardly seen you two

KA: Mum you know it is Kirpa and Prithvi's marriage, so we have been helping them out.

A: Yes mum and we are going there straight after breakfast today too.

N: No u r not, your 2 weeks are up Angad and you have to start rehearsing for your next album, the recording is after 15 days and you haven't sung since ur last concert.

A: But mum……………

N: NO I cant let ur career suffer.

A: My career can be on hold for another 2 days, it will not be the end of the world (and under his breath) and I wouldn't mind if it was for me…………

He walks out without listening to his mother's scoulding

N: (turns to look at Karthik) Whats wrong with you, haven't you got to go to the office!!!

since when have you become this social, you are the practical one, why are you throwing it out of the window.

KA: Mum all ur bringing up of us both had separated us brothers, I had actually started despising Angad but spending these few hours with him has shown me that he is as human as me and that we are so much alike

N: What r u on about, Angad is a super star

KA: Yes you have made him that alright, but he is a human as well and I like that side of him. I am also going to start taking some steps towards improving my life and don't even try to stop me. (He walks off too)

N: KARTHIK……….KARTHIK

Mr Khanna: Naina its no use, if you would have loved them like normal mothers do, this would have never happened

N: Oh you shut up

Mr Khanna: see that is ur attitude, still not changing not accepting ur faults, learn from ur son Karthik, lighten up

Naina goes to her bedroom huffing and puffing. Mr Khanna leaves for the office.

Kirpa has some friends around how r putting uptan on her, she is wearing a yellow dress with Gota work on it. Dadi walks in and says that she is really looking beautiful, Kirpa goes all shy. At that very moment Angad is walking past a window to that room and sees Kirpas blushing face.

A: (praying for Kirpa) God please keep her happy and beautiful like this always.

In the meantime, Karthik reaches the Bose residence where Mishti opens the door. Karthik just keeps looking at her, Mishti suddenly breaks the silence.

M: Karthik, I kept thinking about you all night…………

KA: did you ( cant believe his ears)

M: I kept going over what we had said and what we understood when we weren't talking.

I think you are a very good person, my opinion about you has changed in a very short space of time.

KA: What did you think about me before Mishti

M: Don't be offended but I thought that you were boring and a bit too uptight, I always liked Angad more out of the two of you……….

KA: well everyone does

M: but that's it, I just realised that I don't love Angad its just his rock star, wild persona that I was awed by, what I really want is a stable always loving and caring person as my partner. I don't want a fling – that's what Angad is.

Karthik can't speak, lost for words

M: (carrys on) With you I can be myself and that's why I can open up with you, this might come as a shock as we have only spent a little time with each other and I don't know how you feel but I think I am falling in love with you and might decide to spend the rest of my life with you – that is if u ask me to…………… ( she has been bold and said it but now is blushing bright red)

KA: Mishti (all the words in a dreamy voice) I cant believe it, you saying that you prefer me, you saying that you can open up with me, you saying that you are falling with love me……

M: Sorry I think I have said too much, you can think about this, I am not pushing you………… (feeling all embarresed now)

KA: No No No, I mean I have loved you since I have known you but I always thought I was not worthy enough for you.

M: Oh, I am so pleased that you told me this, I will remember this day forever.

P: Sister, whats up who is at the door, u've been down here for so long any problem.

KA: Oh its only me, I came to ask if you need any help with anything

P: Mishti you have got Karthik standing at the door for the last half an hour, where are ur manners.

M: Oh sorry Karthik, I'll go and get something to drink

KA: I'll have a juice please, its really hot out there

P: and Mishti making u stand there, how rude

Mishti has this glow on her face when she leaves the room and then again when she comes with the juice for both the men. Prithvi sees this and can not understand this. When he asks her to sit down, she goes up the stairs saying that she has remembered that she still has to collect her clothes from the designer so she is just gonna get ready to go.

P: These ladies, she was perfectly dressed but no she has to change to go out to the shops!!!

KA: Its ok Prithvi, as I said I am here to help do u need any help (he looks at all the decorations around the house and it looks a lovely set out of the movies)

P: Almost everything is done, except for taking the ladies here and there for last minute shoppings. Why don't you help out at the otherside!!

KA: Ahhhhhh…..(what should I say) well there are more people there and almost everything is done there too and by the way its uptan day there so not allowed in most of the house….

P: Ok, well then we can do separate runs with the ladies as both of them want to go in different directions.

Both laugh

Another update will be sometime later today....thanks for being paitent all weekend

Prithvi calls Mrs Bose at her office to see if she is free to go to the flower shop to place the order. At the same time Mishti walks down the stairs. Prithvi mouths to Karthik:

P: you take Mishti, I'll take mum

KA & M: Bye, see you later

Mishti and Karthik are very happy to be with each other again and they talk about there likes and dislikes and find out that they have a similar taste of music (both are hopeless romantics behind there hard exterior).

Preparations at both the houses are complete. Everyone is exhausted and go to there bedroom to enjoy some sleep. Karthik and Mishti are re-living there last few days and smiling to themselves. Kirpa is anxious about her and her baby's future. Prithvi can't wait to be married to Kirpa so can't sleep due to excitement. Angad, well he is full of resentment and hopes that Kirpa always remains happy.

While all are sleeping or trying to sleep, sleep is no where to be seen for Naina. She is seriously thinking is she has been such a failure? Has she done wrong in trying to build a future for one of her kids? But then she thinks she wouldn't have been able to make one a rock star if she had tried with both her sons. She thinks to herself that she might have to change herself and may be if she tries now she might get close to her boys (Can u believe it Naina is changing, well atleast in my story)

One day to go for the wedding, all last minute rushes for nothing, just checking that all the arrangements are in place (you know the manic panic in a wedding surrounding). Angad and Karthik wake up and get dressed to go to the busy houses, they come down to have there breakfast.

KA: Angad!!

A: yes bhai, whats up

KA: Just come down and you well know

A: is teddy back from his holiday or is the cook in early this morning???

KA: Don't know, Teddy……….Teddyyyyyyyyyyyy

N: What do you want beta, you know Teddy will be back on Monday

A: Oh then it must be the cook, is the cook coming early while teddy is away mum?

N: No beta, why do u ask

KA: because this breakfast is here

N: oh I thought I would make breakfast for my sons, is there something wrong in this!

A: No, just surprised

KA: Lets have breakfast then

All three are sitting down when Mr Khanna walks down as well:

Mr K: I can smell Parathas

KA & A: dad come and have breakfast with us, mum has made it (Mr K raises a brow and sits next to Naina)

All of them sit there and have a nice family breakfast.

KA: I didn't know that you could make parathas, and tasty as well

A: yeh this is a surprise

Mr K: well ur mother was a very good cook before you guys started growing up, I fell in love with her for her simplicity and good food. She used to be my neighbour in nainitaal, quite a love affair………..

N: Enough Khanna, these are our kids

KA: No dad please tell us more, I like our old mum if that's how she was

Mr K: well I miss her too ( and looks at Naina)

A: wow, this is cool someone else on this table is in love

KA: (Trying to stop Angad from talking, gets up and runs after him)YOUUUUUUUU

A: I didn't take ur name but you have given it away

N: come on Karthik tell us please

KA: Not yet mum, she has not said yes properly

Mr K: but she has hinted?

KA: Yes

A: Dark horse you didn't tell me this

KA: It was yesterday and I came back late and tired to went straight to bed

N: Karthik, you were out with Mishti yesterday!

KA: (gets all red in the face) Yes mum it is her

N: Oh I am so happy

Mr K: I am happy too beta, just let us know when you want us to go to her home to ask for hand

KA: Thanks mum. Thanks dad

Both of the brothers walk out of the house, Naina calls them. They stop,

N: Angad you can start ur practice for ur album from Tuesday and after this I will check all dates with you and Karthik as for office, u do a superb job which I have never appreciated but for the next week u can take time off and enjoy urself. I will help ur dad in taking care of the business side.

KA & A: (about to speak, when Naina interrupts)

N: No need to thank me because infact I have to thank you for opening my eyes.

Both hug Naina and leave.

Karthik says that he will be going to Kirpa's as there is not much to be done at Prithvi's. They sit in Angad's car.

KA: Can you believe it, mum has changed

A: and that is overnight change

KA: I will never want to eat out now, she seems to be a pretty good cook

A: yeah I have to admit this but if I carry on eating her parathas I will have to increase my exercise regime

Both laugh (and Karthik thinks to himself)

K: I would have never thought I could laugh this much with Angad

At the same time at Khanna residence,

Mr K: You never fail to surprise me Naina but this time after a long time it was a pleasant surprise

N: stop it, u were embarresing me infront of the boys

Mr K: Come on they have to know that we were once a loving normal couple

N: What do u mean were?

Mr K: ( moving closer) well we could again rediscover being a loving couple.

N: Mr Khanna…………….. (and both laugh together for a long time after a long time)

All the fresh flowers are put up as well now on the mandap and mehndi is put on Kirpa's hands, everyone has finished all the work and are now a bit relaxed that all is done. They only have to get ready for the wedding.

At dadi's house, all sit down to have dinner when Naina and Mr Khanna walk in

Mr Khanna: is there place for two?

Mr & Mrs Sharma: Oh come here

Dadi: what a nice surprise, both of you haven't come in here since………..

N: I know mum we haven't been around for 8 years but can we………..

D: you are always welcome, I never closed the doors to you (Naina goes and takes her blessings)

All of them have a pleasant dinner. Naina and Mr Khanna give there blessing to Kirpa and leave, Angad asks permission to leave as well and the Sharma's thank him and Karthik for there help too.

KA: Dadi we will come at 5pm tomorrow for the wedding tomorrow as the Bose family will come at 7pm, is that OK

D: Yes beta that should be fine, all is ready now so you go and rest for tomorrow

A: Ok bye everyone and take care.

All go back home and then to bed, Angad goes to his room and takes out the only pic that he has of Kirpa and hides in a pile of compositions which he had written when he was young and just starting towards stardom. This was his most important belongings and he never let anyone touch them so he thought that it belongs here to be hidden deep down in his memory but very safe.

Mrs Sharma is in Kirpa's room packing Kirpa's stuff and she takes out all her clothes and books and puts them in the suitcase. Kirpa is all teary and hugs her mum,

Mrs S: Beta it is ok, what happened is the past and now you have made the right decision.

K: Sorry mummy for the pain I have caused to you and daddy

Mrs S: Like I said its ok

Everyone is asleep now.

Big day is here, Kirpa is in her room when dadi calls her down for breakfast. She goes down and hugs dadi, dadi separates her and sees that she is crying.

D: Kirpa whats wrong, why r u crying (could it be wedding jitters)

K: Dadi I am going to miss you, you have supported me so much, what would I have done if u weren't there for me

D: don't be silly, I have offered you to start a business from my out house so you can have lunch with me. Remember I am ur Maika away from Nainitaal

All sit down and have breakfast. In the meantime at Khanna house, Naina has made Channa puri for breakfast.

A: Mum don't u want me to be the No.1 super star?

N: Why do you ask beta, you are No.1 beta

A: Won't be for long if you feed me like this

KA: No Angad don't say that, you can exercise more, don't let us suffer.

All of them laugh and have a second great start to the day (I could do with more of this, thinks Angad)

Meanwhile in the Bose household, Prithvi is up really early (as you can imagine). He goes to Mishti's room and sees that she is still sleeping. He notices that she is smiling in her sleep and her face is glowing.

P: (gently) Mishti……….Mishti

M: Hmmmmmmmmm

P: Mishti, its 8 wake up

M: (She sits up realising that its Prithvi) Oh bhai,sorry what time did you say

P: 8Am

M: Only 8, let me sleep I need my beauty sleep, before ur big evening

P: Well I can see all the beauty I can on my sisters face (looks at her knowingly)

M: Bhai u r such a lady pleaser

P: No I mean it sister, I don't know what it is but I would like to find out

M: Well bhai, I thought about what u said and yes Angad was just an infactuation, I have found my soulmate

P: wow wow slow down, we only talked about it 2 weeks ago, how could you have found someone already

M: well since that time you are getting married as well (raises a brow)

P: Well pointed sis!!

M: Bhai I never hide anything from you but I wanted to be sure first, bhai I like Karthik a lot and he has said in clear words that he loves me.

P: What Karthik said that…………I can't believe this

M: That's it bhai, we didn't know this Karthik before he is amazing.

P: I am glad that he makes you feel this way. Are you thinking marriage here?

M: Yes bhai, I can't tell you how happy I am

P: I am happy for you too

Mrs Bose walks in,

Mrs B: What is this all about?

M: Just congratulating bhai on his wedding

P: Lets go downstairs and have breakfast, I haven't eaten properly now I feel I could eat for an army.

They have breakfast and Prithvi takes Mishti to her beautician to get ready.

Kirpa is also being made into a bride as it is 5pm and guests of the girls side are expected from 6pm. Kirpa is wearing a red Ghagra with dull gold zardozi and beads work on it, she has an offwhite chunri that goes in her neck and she is wearing delicate jewellery. Her hands are full with Gold and Red bangels and she is a blushing bride.

Karthik calls Prithvi:

KA: Hi Prithvi, I am on my way to Dadi's do u need any help before I go there?

P: Yes you could do something actually, I am getting late as it is and Mishti is at the beauticians waiting to be picked up, could you do that for me

KA: (huge grin on his face) Yes I will

P: You will what!!! (Giggling to himself)

KA: I'll go and pick her up, should I bring her to your house then

P: Yes, thanks just saved me from getting late for my marriage, I owe you one

KA: No problem mate

Karthik goes to pick Mishti up, when he sees her he is lost for words. Mishti blushes

M: Where is bhai

KA: are you not happy to see me!!

M: No, I mean yes but ………

KA: he asked me to do this as he was not ready for his own wedding.

M: You know I told him about you this morning, so I think…….

KA: he did this on purpose, how sweet he is setting us up

They drive off and Karthik drops Mishti at her house and heads towards Dadi's house.

Sorry IF Friends I am not v good at explaining weddings, dresses and stuff
