Some more facts i would like to share:

1. Ajabde died in 1591 and got her little sister to marry pratap forcefuuly as her last wish. Her sister was nearly 17 years younger to pratap and was too much too herself, only later did she change for good. Pratap's patience and persona was the key to it.

2. Rani Jaivanta Bai died 10 days after pratap's Death.

3. Pratap married phool in 1563, 5 years after he married ajabde and almost 1 year later than rao maldeo's death in 1562.

4. 2 of pratap's brothers, shakti and sagar singh, returned to join forces with him after leaving the mughals, and sagar singh later committed suicide in shame.

5. The trigger for battle of haldighat- Man singh, brother in law of Akbar, demanded from pratap that he attends a grand feast organised by Akbar, but Pratap instead sent his son rather than going himself, which was seen as insult by Akbar.

6. When Pratap's general donned Pratap's clothing and armour, it went unnoticed, thanks to the chaos of the war, but for two Turk knights from the Mughal army. They could not communicate it with others in their group, due to the linguistic barrier (the appropriate language would have been Persian, Marwari or Arabi, given the composition of the Mughal army). They immediately followed Pratap without wasting time. The moment they started chasing him, Pratap's younger brother Shakti Singh, who was fighting from the Mughal side, realized that his own brother was under threat. Pratap's general's sacrifice had already been discovered by him. He could not help but react against a threat to his own brother. He followed the Turks, engaged them in single combat and killed them.

7. The impact of the battle on the Mughal army was also significant. In terms of numbers the Mughal army suffered heavier losses. This was also because of the intensive arrow showers by the Bhil tribes of the surrounding mountains who had sided with Pratap. To honour their contribution, a Bhil warrior was placed next to Pratap in the Royal Coat of Arms of Mewar.

8. Before the Battle of Haldighati started, Man Singh Kacchwaha was out hunting with a few hundred retainers. Pratap's Bhil spies reported this to him at his camp a few kilometers away. Some of Pratap's nobles suggested that they seize the opportunity to attack and kill Man Singh. Pratap refused, demonstrating his sense of rectitude.

9. The womenfolk of Abdur Rahim Khankhana, a Mughal officer, fell into the hands of Pratap's son, Amar Singh. At this point of time, Khankhana was actually on the march against Pratap, and was camping at Sherpur in order to make preparations for an assault against Pratap. Nonwithstanding all this, Pratap commanded his son Amar Singh to arrange for the safe conveyance of the Mughal ladies to their camp. Khankhana was so affected by this incident that he refused to campaign against such a chivalrous monarch.

10. Pratap was hugely built, nearly 7.5 feet tall, and carried armour and weapons weighing nearly 100 kg. Even Chetak ( marwari breed horse) stood nearly 10 feet long.It is said that when the maharana used to swordfight with knights, he used to cut in half the rider as well as the horse with his heavy 30 kg sword.

11. Death of pratap- There came an immense tragic and disheartening day in the life of Pratap when while tightening the string of a bow with arrow, a muscle contracted in the intestine causing internal bleeding. Pratap fell down on the surface and died in Chawan.

Will follow with more facts after some more research.

1. Wait, MP was born in 1540 and died in 1597. If Ajabde died in 1591, this means he was 51 years when he married Rattan. And he had two more wives even after her. If Ajabde was two years younger to Pratap then she was 49 when she died and Rattan was around 15 without a doubt. Then its a 34 years of age gap between the sisters. I mean that's not even possible. Even if they had the same father but different mothers. Heck I am even not making sense to myself.

10. 7.5 feet tall??!!!! That's not even humanely possible unless of course if you have some kind of hormonal imbalance that is.

Dude, i just stated facts, nothing is out of the ordinary. There was a very considerable age difference b/w pratap and ajabde's sister. I said there was 17 years difference between them , so there is about 20 years difference and not 34 years between both sisters as ajabde was 3 years younger to pratap. And this surely makes sense, as at those times marriages were done at very early age and kings married even when they reached 50-55 years.
Even if you look at the show right now, ajabde's brother is shown being born now. She is already 13-14 years. So, a sister being born after 5-6 years from present show timeline is nothing extra-ordinary.

Coming out to the question raised about the height, it is certain that neither me nor you have actually seen him. It is all what historians and poets of the time write. Rajput clan certainly had well built soldiers . Even prithviraj Chauhan was around 7 feet.
Akbar , on the other hand , was medium built man, about 5 feet 7 inches.

Hope it clears your doubts.Anyway, beleiving or not believing is up to you.

Thanks for liking the post. I actually have a book from which i stated these facts. It is also mentioned that ajabde's death was maily due to her ill health owing to prolonged sufferings she had to bear wandering around in the jungles for food, proper shelter etc.

And yes, last 10 years for MP were relatively happy as Akbar turned his focus towards Punjab rather than the Rajputana. In fact, MP was able to win back most of Mewar but not his palace.

More facts:

1. When Akbar sent his army to alwar, its ruler haji Khan fled to Ajmer. Rao maldev sensed this oppurtunity to loot him and sent his army. Haji khan sought Udai's help and mewar too sent its army. Maldev seeing this ordered his army to retreat.
In return for this help, Udai singh asked Haji khan to give his wife( rangrai patar) to him, which was protested by many nobles of Udai . This time Haji Khan went to marwar for help, and combined army of 8500 soldiers of marwar and Haji khan defeated mewar's army.

2. Rao Maldev wanted to marry the second daughter of Jaitsingh also, as shown in the show , according to history books, Jaitsingh refused to give away his daughter to Maldev which l infiruited him with anger , he threatened to attatck him. Fearing this, Jaitsingh asks for Udai singh help and also promises to give her hand in marriage to Udai Singh. A battle b/w marwar and mewar took place where marwar was defeated this time.

Really! these kings had nothing else to do, they were fighting for women..
War brings so much suffering, and they were willing to sacrifice their soldiers just to satisfy their lust.

no wonder India was taken over by foreigners

Think you for sharing the info.

I would just want to say that at those times, the marriageable age for girls was 13 or 14. Rarely any women crossed the 20 bar, let alone 25. So, Its weird that Rattan Punwar remained unmarried for 34 years... she would be considered completely unmarriageable. I think there is some thing wrong with the numbers.
