Drona can't be held responsible alone for Abhi's vadh. The other seven were equally responsible. In fact, Krishna said that all were sad except Karn and that Duryodhan who laughed loudly after the boy died. One more culprit is dat Jayadrath.

i think there were six warriors who attacked abhimanyu at last and drona was one of them he is the one who suggests that to kill abhimnayu he needs to be divested of his bow, armor,his horses and his chariot.I think he is the most whitewashed character when it comes to depiction of abhimanyu's killing

Today was another stretched episode

only arjuna and krishna ji scene was good and worth watching.Krishna ji finally became arjuna's saarthi who will guide through the war path

Pooja was ncie as well but yudhiishtir asking for ashriwaad scene was unnecessarily dragged .What with kauravas and their cliched villainous laughter and yudi staying quiet all that while

Let me clear what happend inside the chakravyuha.

After Abhimanyu had a blood bath with everyone including Karna, no result was seen to come out. Karna immediately after having a duel with Abhimanyu, in which both bathed in blood, consulted Drona about Abhimanyu.

Drona then told Karna that he sees no weakness in Abhimanyu's archery - which can be exploited. Drona asks Karna to break his bow ( not from behind ) if competent, and the other warriors will take care of his chariot, etc. Karna, within the next second, broke Abhimanyu's bow, he did not do it from behind, he did it upfront.

After he was snatched away from his bow by Karna, Kritaviram slew his steeds, Kripa slew his charioteers and others covered him with arrows. Abhimanyu then took a shield and sword which was cut off by Karna and Drona respectively.

Abhimanyu then took a Mace and rushed towards Ashwathama, but Ashwasthama avoided him, Abhimanyu was slaying many warriors when Dushashan's son challenged him with his mace, both fought each other and both of them fainted. Dushanshans son recovered faster compared to Abhimanyu and after recovering, Dushansh's Son struck his mace on Abhimanyu's head and the latter was killed.

So before blaming anyone about what he did, think for a second about who did what. Karna did two things- Broke his bow and Broke his shield. I know this post is useless, but I thought it would be nice to give a short summary of what happened.
