Aren't you extremely self-restraining, always making efforts to control your actions?

We all live by our own set of rules. Everyone has a way to work. I neither demean nor belittle others for the manner in which they function. But I know what works well for me and suits me that's why I follow it. This is how I work and I'm very comfortable doing. This is neither better than anyone, nor inferior to anyone. When I meet people, they call me modest and humble. But I'm neither, that's my make! I'll look like a wannabe if I blow kisses at my fans, it just doesn't come naturally to me. In my head, I thank all my fans for their unconditional love because I know there is nothing very special about me. There are moments when I feel the need to tell everyone that this happens because I consider them on the same platform as mine. You may be in a bank, doing your job in the way I'm doing my job as an actor.

Do you follow awards functions including National awards?

I don't follow any awards. I don't look forward to any awards because my first experience wasn't very pleasant. After the release of 'Aamir', I was nominated for a couple of awards. But not invited to any of those award functions. That was quite off-putting. The fact that they didn't invite me proved they had already decided the winner. May be someday I will attend these awards thinking they are genuine. How is it that the actresses and actors who are present for the award function end up bagging the awards too?

I found the highlighted bit interesting...I too wondered why he didnt turn up at Filmfare when he was nominated for 'debut award'...Everyone knew Farhan would win for 'Rock On' but not inviting an actor who is nominated is just too much...Sorry but so many useless/out-of-work actors/actresses turn up for award shows that its really not funny when you dont invite actors you have nominated just coz they dont have a PR agent...then why nominate?

I felt that this was quite an honest take...hez not saying I never believed in awards...the experience he had made him give up on them..atleast hez honest to say 'Alright...I never got invited...so I didnt come'...now even if you invite me I wont come... Aamir was a very good film..

Woah, I had no idea he wasn't even invited. That sucks. And also makes no sense to not send out an invite to a nominee 😕

The guy is very down to earth..Has always been like this..I remember even when he was at his peak of stardom during his television stint..he was so humble and nice..I wish he had won the NA for Aamir..completely deserved it..Its disappointing to see a talent like Rajeev ignored in Bollywood..

Rajeev was way better than Farhan, but most of the awards were shared between Imran and Farhan.

very modest otherwise tv actor act in interview like an ass , i read some interviews of gc's here n he sounded like a arrogant ass in dem
