What is a definition of a fan for you ?

This seems quite subjective after being here for few weeks. So if you are a fan, what is your definition of a fan and if you aren't one, what is your take on it ?

Definition of a fan ?

1.an apparatus with rotating blades that creates a current of air for cooling or ventilation.

2.a handheld device, typically folding and shaped like a segment of a circle when spread out, that is waved so as to cool the person holding it.

3.cool (someone or something) by waving an object to create a current of air.

4.increase the strength of (a fire) by blowing on it or stirring up the air near it.

Not cracking a stupid joke about it being a machine, when I say fan it's someone I appreciate(for whatever reason)..it's not permanent, definitely not unconditional..I stop being a fan when the person does something I don't agree with/it has lasted too long and I need change..and most of the times it's restricted to what they do on screen/on the field/on the job

So for you, is there a difference between a supporter, admirer, appreciator or a fan ?

Umm..I don't think they need my support as individuals/professionals..I'm a supporter of Team India, not a fan..I'm a fan of Virat Kohli, not a supporter

But yeah admirer=appreciator=fan..this stays till they do what they do well..

There are few people like Dravid and Kumble I admire for what they are off the field also..but that's more respect

I am sure Definition to a fan is something very subjective..

But what I feel is that..

If I am a fan of someone..as in a true die hard fan..I will Never bash him to prove a point that I am an unbiased fan..

And if I am a fan and my favourite has done something unworthy..I should be bold enough to accept it and not come up with a counter argument to support my favourite..
