"Friends who pee together stay together" - or so Incredible India brand ambassador and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan would have you believe.

Of course, if the friend in question is another superstar, pulling off such an antic in public garners great publicity too.

On Thursday, Aamir tweeted a photo of him and Salman urinating together side by side, while looking over their shoulders at the camera.

You may love or loathe Aamir's maxim, or take it as a cute joke (too cute, maybe, for a couple of 45-plus actors). But when two superstars enjoy a pee together, you surely cannot ignore it.

Predictably, no sooner had the photo been posted than it went viral on Twitter.

"Why stop at peeing together... when you can potty together," tweeted a sarcastic Adi.

Others were more serious about Aamir's role as brand ambassador for Incredible India, whose TV campaign includes an ad where the superstar warns Indians against letting their country down in front of foreigners by peeing in public.

"Aamir Khan, brand ambassador of Incredible India, has posted picture urinating in open space (sic)," wrote Faking News.

In the same tone, @notramcguha wrote: "So never practice what you preach in 'Incredible India' ads, and act exactly opposite to what you preach, right @aamir_khan?"

Many feel the photograph was aimed as a gimmick ahead of the release this Friday of Salman's film Jai Ho.

In showbiz, as they say, any publicity is good publicity. This angle also elicited quite a few jokes.

Ramesh Srivats had this cracker, for instance: "Salman Khan: Hey Aamir, have you heard of this movie, Jai Ho? Aamir Khan: Yes yes. I heard urine it."
