Sam, Congratulations on finishing your exams. You must be looking forward to your holidays.
Very nice analysis. But does Anjali really always do what Niranjan wants? (your lines in bold)
Today, it seemed to me that she listened to the conversation, marched to Shlok's room and provoked him into going for the HM quite deliberately - something Niranjan absolutely does not want. She also looked satisfied when Shlok told her firmly that nothing would stop him from going to the HM.
Anjali's spirit has broken greatly, but there is a rebellion in her that comes into play. It seems that that rebellion is connected to Shlok. She submits (though reluctantly) when it comes to Jyoti, but it seems that she does not want Shlok to be another Niranjan.
Jyoti is one character who is one of the most strongest and sweetest character. Her will to live and her love for her siblings has survived years of brutal abuse. She is different from Anjali in that context.
Astha's strength comes from her background and there is only so much that she would ever take even from Shlok (she still harbors hope and hence her tolerance). Once she gains the wisdom to look beyond the surface, she would be able to rise.
