I agree with you. He had huge pressure to match upto his father and thus he suffered. I also feel he could not survive the competition with Hrithik as every single day there used to be a comparison between him and Hrithik.

He was not a bad actor. But he didn't have the hunger, the drive in him- none of his roles essayed his desire or passion to make it big.

Too much expectation- this is why none of the major starkids make it big. And it is people like the B-grade Roshan's son, Rishi Kapoor's son who make it big. Because people don't have too much expectation from them, given who their fathers are.

Also, the lack of scree presence. There is not a single role Abhishek did where he was not replaceable, except for maybe his Yuva role. Replace any good actor with Abhishek in his movies, and you won't even notice he is gone. That is a major problem. You may love the actor, hate the actor- but if he doesn't keep your attention fixed on him, then he can never make it big. This is precisely why SRK and Salman made it big. Average lookers, but you cannot look away from them when they are onscreen.
