He's not a poor actor at all! He's got his father's genes in him! His style and everything resembles Amitabh but there were many reasons he didnt,

-- First he lacked the Junoon in him.
-- Continuous comparison with his father somehow may have hampered his career
-- Failure in choice of Right Scripts!

its just another flop for kareena, abhishek and hrithik that moment. trust me teh film wasnt even noticed and as far as Hrithik being criticized was concerned, everything was forgotten when 2 months later koi mil gaya released, yes KMG released just after two months of MPKDH ..

and here the topic wasn't about how MPKDH couldn't beat salman's prem, but why Abhisheklh couldn't make it big ?.. and obviously, its not becos MPOKDH was a flop.. becos even with this big flop Hrithik and Kareena emerged out as the topmost actors of their generation, they literally ate up any1 ... Abhsisekh restricted himself to a good son, awesome husband and now a good father...

I disagree... I remember an interview post MPKDH flopped in a magazine and he was asked why the film didn't click as well as the OTT acting aspects of the movie and obv a point made by the interviewer was that HR and abhi failed to live up to the Prem we've seen in sooraj's movies in terms of strong character appeal and acting... and that's when HR said that salman was the original prem and will always remain it and no1 intended 2 replace him. the thing is when this film was announced automatically comparisons were being made and u know media's obsession with one actor replacing another and that's what was said at the time and when the movie failed - every1 was like they failed 2 replace the original prem- and obv HR made it a point to say he was the original prem. its an old magazine article - I doubt it wud b online but if u read it u find he tries 2 justify the film and gives the typical star statement that they all worked hard but somehow the film jus didn't click with the audience. he like other stars doesn't try to bring out the flaws in the movie.

I am aware that the topic isn't abt MPKDH, but if u notice I quoted someone who mentioned abt HR and abhi's movie 2geva earlier in their careers and the movie that came 2 mind was MPKDH which didn't bring out HR to be the stronger performer hence I made it a point to say that HR was criticised 4 this movie.

as Ksh pointed out... abhi lost out due to various reasons one being lack of lead ladies 2 pair with. rani was someone he looked the best with but cos of aish he didn't work with her post LCMD and there r some problems with PC too... his friendship with rani and PC was really strong but now its not and ppl do say its becos of aish so he restricted himself by making the choice to work with only those whom his wife approved- and that resulted in few options left for him 2 work with and also losing out on the actress he looked the best with- RANI.

I always felt abhi acted the best with rani - his confrontation scene with rani in KANK was mindblowing...u actually feel for the character of rishi- rani always bought out the best in abhi. I loved that scene a lot... the way he cries and says he loved her so much then why did she do this 2 him. that scene proves he can act well but sadly u don't see such acting 4rm him much

he is very lazy!! when every1 is working out to get a decent body he is happy with his family pack

he have this same look and expressions in every film!!! so he is monotonous!! hence he could maintain his fan base so basically if ur not salman or aaamir or the mix of both SRK u ill forever remains a abhisekh

I dunno why you guys are still saying he failed bcuz he was being compared to his father. That is not true, it was true for the first 2-3 years of his career...but when Yuva, Bunty Aur Babli and Guru happened and he was reinveted and accepted by audience...the guy had his own image, own fans and own identity. Remember when Rani/Bipasha/Lara/Preity were going gaga over him and he was the most eligible bachelor? There was something there that he could have made into a superstar.What failed for him is horrible choice in films, lack of PR/branding, and laziness. I don't think it has anything to do with Amitabh. Eventually people got over that.
