Shakuni considers the sons of Pandu to be a threat to the throne for Duryodhan just like Pandu was a threat to Dhridhrashtra and was made King.

Shakuni first felt betrayed when the sister he loved, Gandhari had to marry a blind prince. Her actions to blindfold herself made him vengeful. He blamed Bheeshm and the Kuru clan for this. Later with Pandu becoming King, Shakuni felt that his sister had been betrayed more. She was supposed to be the Queen (his idea) but she had been relegated to be a princess.. That is where his hatred starts.

Time goes on.. The Kauravas grow up.

Duryodhan is teased once that his mother had first married a plaintain tree before her marriage with Dhridhrashtra (this is to ward off some dosh in Gandhari's kundli.) Duryodhan and Dhrid find this to be a slight and are angered that they were not told about this before. In anger they punish the King and princes of Gandhar. They send the entire family to dungeons feeding them each just one particle of rice a day.

The entire family starved and gives the rice served to Shakuni who vows to destroy the Kurus including the kauravas as revenge for starving his family to death..

Shakuni keeps his revenge burning and his actions soon lead Duryodhan and the Kauravas to their death. He just sugarcoats those with statements of wanting good things for the Karuravas.

Correct and true information. Shakuni hated Bheeshma and his Kuru clan, he always had this thing in mind that Bheeshma used his power and influence and forced his father to say yes for Gandhari's and Dhrits marriage. According to him , his beloved sister deserved a brave and flawless man (which she truely deserved) but Bcoz of Bheeshma she had to marry a blind prince.

But when MB war was over Gandhari cursed lord Krishna that Bcoz of him her 100 sons died , he didn't spare even a single of her son alive... And yes, even God wasn't saved from a curse of mortal human ...
