What is Rasoi Ritual?

I'm half indian and not from India, can anyone help?

I have honest to God never heard of it 😕😆 Google wasn't any help either.

Well I've seen it in other shows, usually the morning after the suhaag raat the new bride makes breakfast for everyone, pehli rasoi apparently. But like I have a few issues with regards to that in this show.

1. It's way past the new bride's first breakfast in this show, so what up with pehli rasoi? Zoya has not stepped into the kitchen at all the past few days or what?

2. I seriously, seriously doubt that this rasam is carried out in Muslim households. Maybe it's supposed to be a cultural (Indian) custom rather than a religious custom. Who knows?

I think something lie newly wedded DIL of house cooks something for everyone first time..

It is like new bride cooking first time in her sasural but to be frank I am not sure if such stuff is done in today's day and age where many of the women are working and living in nuclear families...I think these age old traditions are only shown in soaps ...I could be wrong as I left India long long ago but it don't look practical to me based on current socio economic status of women.

I actually googled it but didn't find anything. It might be one of the many ridiculous tasks a woman is expected to do in India. I wonder what the males do? Do they even get a glass of water by themselves. It's pathetic really.

I only know abt it through indian serials but i know for a fact that it is not practiced in muslim tradition. but then again they will show it in the serial to make it seem that zoya is the real bahu of the family.

I hope Zoya orders pizza and diet coke for the crazy people 😊
