Chapter Two
Yash was about to turn when a hand tapped him on the shoulder. It was none other than Arpita. Yash saw her and smiled.
Arpita: Yashji, could you see the girl who was singing. She had such a lovely voice isn't it?
Yash: No Arpita. She just disappeared and seemed to be in a hurry. She even left her little paper with a couple of lines.
By then the kids came there and all went for a snack break.
That night when Yash was lying down he kept thinking about this girl. She would have been the perfect one for him to launch. But he had no clue how to go about looking for her.
Arpita came next to him and ran her hand over his hair.
Arpita: Rest Yashji, I know you are still thinking of that voice. But if you have to find her you will.
She gives him a gentle kiss on the forehead and both hug each other and go off to sleep.

The following day
The door bell rang and Shobha opened it to see a bright and vivacious Aarti.
Aarti: Hello aunty.
Shobha: So, you got a call from him.
Aarti smiled and she hugged Shobha.
Aarti: Yes aunty.
Shobha: For how long are you going to keep yourself from telling him that you like him?
Aarti: Aunty, I can't ---- it is not so easy and you know that.
Shobha: At least let me do it for you then. He is after all my son. Let me tell him that I have a found a girl for you and that is Aarti. But you don't want me to do that either.
Aarti: Please do not say anything to him. Let me see if he feels the same about me first.
Shobha: I just can't understand you two. You both have known each other for two years now ---- yet this delay in saying the most important things!!!!

Aarti stayed at an orphanage and met Shobha Dubey during one of her visits to the place on the death anniversary of her husband. Aarti was working there in charge of the administration of the institution.
Shobha developed an immediate liking for this girl. There was simplicity along with passion in every conversation she struck with anyone around her.
She began frequenting this place often and during one of her visits, she was accompanied by her son, Prashant.
Aarti saw him and kept looking at him. There was something different happening to her and for the first time. Prashant was cool and met her like he would have any other girl.
That was when Aarti had given her heart away to Prashant who had left soon after wards to pursue his higher studies abroad.
Shobha could sense in a few months that Aarti had developed a liking towards him. She asked Aarti who did not mind sharing with her that indeed Prashant was on her mind all the time ever since she saw him first.
But Shobha wanted to speak to him in person once he returned after his course and so things just stood where they were --- Aarti dreaming of a life with him and Shobha fully supportive of that.
However, the man in question was unaware of all this.
Shobha managed to tell him to talk to Aarti once in a while saying she had no one in this world and if he could talk to her she would be happy.
And that's how that call had come while she was busy penning her thoughts in the garden while humming to herself too!
The excitement of a call from Prashant made her leave that piece of paper which reached Yash accidentally but little did the three realize that their future was being designed by destiny!

A week passed and Yash wondered where and how he could possibly meet this young lady again. He was returning home when he saw a lady stop his car for a lift.
It was Aarti.
Aarti: Excuse me Sir, could you please drop me off at the hospital a few kilometers away?
Yash: Sure, please get in madam.
Aarti got in and looked very worried. She was praying that Shobha aunty should not be too serious.
Yash took a look at her and said: Is everything alright? You look quite disturbed.
Aarti: Yes, my aunty slipped and fell in the bathroom and she had to be admitted. I hope she hasn't suffered any major injury.
Yash: Don't worry. She will be fine.
Aarti: Please stop here. I'll manage from here on my own. Thank you Sir.
Yash: You can call me Yash.
Aarti: Thank you Mr. Yash.
Yash: You are welcome Miss ---??
Aarti: Aarti.
She rushes out of the car and into the hospital and as Yash saw her disappear again he felt she looked the same as the girl he had seen at the garden.
Yash shakes his head at his craziness and how this girl had been haunting him for a while now.

Aarti went and met Shobha who was not too serious. It was just a minor fall and she would be back home soon. Aarti was relieved.
She sat outside the room where Shobha lay and opened her little book and started writing ---
Kuch ajeeb si hai dil ki baat
Keh doon? Nahin --- abhi nahin
Na jaane unke dil mein kaun?
Wo hum hi to nahin--- kahin?
It's a peculiar feeling in my heart
Shall I say? No --- not now
I wonder who is in his heart?
Maybe it could just be me?
She had just finished writing this much and her mobile rang.
"Prashant calling---"
Aarti smiled at the perfect timing.
Aarti: Hello ---
Prashant: Aarti, how are you?
Aarti: I am fine but Shobha aunty ---
Prashant: She will be fine, don't worry about her. I need to ask you something Aarti.
Aarti wondered what was more important at that hour than the recovery of his mother.
Aarti: Yes, please ask me.
Prashant: Once I'm back in India, will you stay with us?
Aarti: Stay with you all? I did not get you.
Prashant: I mean, in our house. Will you make it your home too?
Aarti could not believe if she should conclude that this was his way of proposing to her.
She kept quiet for some time. It all seemed too rushed and an inappropriate moment for her to talk about this matter.
Aarti: Please, we'll talk about this later as I am not able to understand you right now. I am worried about Shobha aunty.
Prashant: Aarti, let me come to the point. Will you marry me?
Aarti heard those words and her mobile just slipped off her hand and she was in a daze.
