Indian Idol Junior Top 5 Contestants

Indian Idol Junior is India's first Indian Idol version for kids who aspire to become singers. Now, the show is approaching its crescendo and iDubba brings you profile of final top 5 singing superstars. These kids have shown India how talented they are. Even the judges had a hard time choosing them. There were times when all three judges Vishal, Shekhar and Shreya found themselves in utter dilemma to announce the results. With super sonic performances, these Junior Singers have paved their way into Top 5 places.

1. Sughanda Amol Date

Aged 8, from Nagpur

Family Background: Father works in the Postal Dept. at Nagpur. Mother was a music teacher, but quit her work to concentrate on Sugandhas music and studies. She also has an elder brother studying in class nine.

Singing training backgrounds: Started learning music from her mother when she was five years old. Started her formal training (light music) when she was six years old with Shri Anirudh Joshi.

What do you want to be when you grow-up: Playback Singer.

2. Nirvesh Sudhanshubhai Dave

Aged 14, from Ahmadabad

Family background: Father is an accountant at a Private firm and mother is a housewife. Father and mother sing sometimes. Elder brother plays the synthesizer.

Singing background: Learning since he was four years. Had learnt classical from Preetiben Vohra. He is now learning semi-classical from Aniket Khandekar.

What do you want to be when you grow-up: Wants to be a successful Music director and a Singer.

3. Debanjana Karmakar

Aged 14, from West Midnapur, WB

Family background: Her father works in a bank, while her mother is a housewife. Her father is also a music teacher and teaches children from home.

Singing background: Learning classical music from her father, since the age of four. She is learning from Sri Joyonto Sarkar (Kolkata) since the age of 10.

Biggest Dream: Wants to meet Lataji and get some good tips from her. Also get famous as a playback singer.

4. Anmol Jaiswal

Aged 14, from Jammu

Family background: Father is a singer and teaches singing to children. Mother is a Housewife and also a singer and gives training to children from home. Family " Parents and two younger sisters.

Singing background: He started singing since he was two and half years old. He learns classical from his father who is also a music teacher.

What do you want to be when you grow-up: He wants to be an all-rounder in music (playback singer and music director).

5. Anjana Padmanabhan

Aged 10, from Bangalore

Family background: Her father is a chartered accountant at a big firm, while her mother is a housewife.

Singing background: Has learnt Carnatic music for one year from Akila, and has been learning Hindustani Classical for the last three months from Shriman Pandit Hegde. Bollywood songs, she learns from her father.

What do you want to be when you grow up: Singer and a Pilot.
