My dear Chahat,

I am so glad that you liked my analysis so much. I must return the compliment, for I liked your comments just as much, and agree with all of them without exception.

Aunty...I was waiting so eagerly for this episode's analysis thread by you. 😃

yesterday's episode was such a treat, and i am so excited that whole this week, we'll get one hour special treat. Though even this one hour passes on so quickly!😆

I agree with each and every point made by you. For me, "the tika ceremony by Rani mainawati"; "The Muhdukhai ceremony"; Jalaal deliberately ordering this ceremony to take place; and "jalaal-Maan singh Encounter" were the bestest parts,

Its interesting and amusing both, that the mischievous Jalaal, deliberately wanted Muhdukhai ceremony to take place. Its his way to teach Jodha a lesson. and I am enoying each bit of it. Considering he is also being considerate along side. He wanted to watch Jodha's expressions on getting to now whom she is getting married to; and how could he miss this treat! So, he made sure, he used his powers. Like you said, he is controlling both sides, and this is what making it even more nice to watch.

"Rani Mainawati-Jalaal Scene" was the second best in my list. the way Rani was slightly fearful, if the Shahenshah would accept the Tika ceremony or not; and the way Jalaal regally but politely, and without saying a word, allayed her fears, was very-2 sweet. he had regards for the rani, he was polite, considerate, but at the same time exuding so much power and royalty. 👏 All the while his eyes never leaving Rani's face.

Muhdikhai ceremony: Jalaal is so clever, the wayv he circled the water bowl, and understood why it was kept, and the solution rajputs had found fr their problem. he understood they don't want Jodha to find out about Jalaal yet. the passionate and eager look on Jalaal's face and in his eyes, when Jodha arrived. Lost in his would-be-begum, even if its not love yet; its certainly something. Jodha is Jalaal's fancy right now.

It was interesting to note that when Jodha caught a glimpse f Jalaal in the water, and remembered the similarity between Jalaal's reflection which she hadseen in Amer previously, she took a step backward. wanting with all her being to clarify the doubts in her mind. But with no one in her own family, to clear them, it was Jalaal only, who wanted Jodha to know, that it is Jalala in front of her. Even if his purpose of doing so was mischievious 😛 But in this mischievious revenge/lesson too, he did her a favor! Saying out aloud deliberately, and telling her "Subhanallah, bahut fursat se banaya hai Khuda ne tumhe". Knwing his diction and sue fo words, his voice woudl undoubtedly make the storms inside her stronger, amd at the same time answering her own fears! n I was so in love with the background music! 😃 😆

All in all, a brilliant episode, portrayal by actors and picturisation, direction. n yes Rajat remains the star off the show. Today, I also loved the way Paridhi portrayed all the feelings of Jodha...she was pure brilliance. 👏 n loved the sensible Rani Mainawati too. 😊

Thank you so much, my dear Rose. You must have been as disappointed as I was by yesterday's fiasco as far as Jodha was concerned, but Jalal more than made up for it.

Yesterday's episode was the best so far. Jodha's brothers looked like they had all given up.. I was like..where did their pride go?
I just don't want Jodha to burn the gift.. she'll look like she has lost all her sense.
Jalal was too sweet, imo.. I loved the scene with Maan singh, Motu Halwai😆 and Mainavati.

The reflection moohn dikhai was clever, but it took too long for Jodha to see Jalal.., it was his reflection she had seen, the first time she saw him.

Thank you so much, Arnav.

Yes, it was very tough for Jodha, but she is a 16th century Rajput princess, and she should have behaved with more of icy dignity than she did yesterday, Tuesday.

And yes, this episode was superb right thru

Great post as always😳 To begin with, i just loved the way Jodha called her Bhaisa telling that some mughal is out there..its so natural..like a sweet little sister sharing her fears with her defender,i.e; her brother!! Loved that scene..and as you said the episode had all the ingredients includig comedy!! That Halwai scene was really a cute one..Coming to muhdikhayi, i loved the fact that Jalal respected their culture and bent his head to put on Tilak!! That definitely means a lot!! Not to forget the look MA gave!!! I can really feel for Mynavathi who couldn't get over it..If at all she remembers daadi sa's words instead of that prediction she would have felt much better!

Jodha had a shock of her life Here she's thinking that she's gonna marry saomeone who's brave enough to cut Jalal's head and what did she get to know?? That she's gonna marry jalal himselfShe deserves to know that much more earlier..atleastshe wouldn't be this hurt..Even then she gave it a chance to hear to her maasa..she tried to understand the situation after listening to her..
It must have taken every ounce of her will power to refrain from kiling herself Getting married to Jalal is no less than dying for her!Even though she gets ready..kudos to this brave girl!

If I really had Magical Powers I would wish for an Analysis for every episode, But I have to remeber you are a human too
And don't worry nothing like that will happen...Shahi Shaadi specials fill me with some energy, some positive vibes of Life[Though I am an optimist]
I think they know some magic
I hope they fill you with it too😛

Thank you for all your warm words.

However, I begin to suspect you of magical powers, for my hopes of having very little to analyse in this week are fading fast! If this goes on for another 3 days, I will become an old crock, that is for sure.

Thank you so much; you are really good for my morale!

What I meant was that since Mansingh talks of defending his buasa and his family, Jalal might have been reminded of Jodha's passionate commitment to defending her Amer. Not something she might have said about the code of honour in war.

One can hardly be bothered about 3-4 years too much for Mansingh, my dear, when Jodha, who was 22 days older than Akbar at the time of their marriage, is now stated in passing to be celebrating her 17th birthday, while Jalal looks to be 21 or 22. These people have an elastic time line, perhaps their characters travel faster than light and end up getting steadily younger!😉

You are correct about Akbar well post marriage to Jodha in 1562 (when they were both 20)/ In 1568, after a very hard siege of Chittor, when it fell, Akbar had all the defenders killed as an example to the rest who were still holding out. In the same year, Ranthambore took the hint and surrendered soon.

My dear,

I was so touched by the opening line that I, for once😉, do not know what to say in reply. That, methinks, is the best response I could give anyway.

As for the rest of your post, it is as perceptive as it is comprehensive. Thank you taking the time out to respond in such lucid detail.

i refreshed so many times just to check that your analysis must be already posted and the relief when my message box alerted me...beautiful analysis ,i simply loved the episode ..and those 40-45 minutes too felt so less...i must have watched the repeat so many times especially the whole mooh dikhayi scene, maan and jalal scene and the pre cap...

the only person other than the audience itself who enjoyed the whole scenario was Jalal himself😆..that smirk never lef this face atleast not untill after hearing ehr second shart...

jalal ka sarr is back in demand just when you thought she has moved past it ...lol...and the reason the second alliance impressed her is the same as for suryabhan ...she expects him too to present her Jalal ka sarr and that has made her accept it ...Paridhi looked stunning in this episode...not only that her command ,her elegance shone through...even when she was shocked into silence ,helpless on seeing Jalal and the betrayal of her family...and especially the last scene where she wipes her tears determined to stand strong and not fall into pieces...

Jalal has hopes of seeing her bowed down head😆...it is time for shock treatment next for him now...the sparks are already flying all over the place..am just waiting and waiting to see them confront each other alone in a room...now that is going to be a mahayudh😆

the confrontation between maan sing and jalal was another scene i loved...the kid had so much fire in him and courage yet honesty...no wonder Jalal was impressed ...am so waiting to see more of their scenes and his scene with his buasaa...they also have amazing chemistry

the hilarious scene with the mithai wala guy ...the way jalal poked his tummy was cute...

the whole tilak scene was so beautifully executed...both the mughals and the rajputs...jalal and mainavati...one lost in shaguni bai and her own discomfort ,the other enjoying thoroughly yet respecting the ceremony and his mother in law...MA ka expression when he bowed his head for the tilak

then comes the scene of the day...the mooh dikhai..the way jalal never took his eyes of jodha from the moment she walked in..trying to take a peak below her ghoonghat..and finally when they saw the reflections...Paridhi was brilliant in that scene👏...her shock then disbelief trying to move away and then the realization directed by Jajal himself when he voiced his admiration...it was all real suddenly, not bharm, not her nightmare, not her imagination...he was there ...and the wind it seemed was orchestrated by Jalal too coz her ghoonghat slides her shock on her face as she looks up..but through out the scene Jalal had the content victorious smirk plastered on his face...a director happy with his direction...this was exactly what he wished to see and he got it on a platter...poor girl ,the way she ran off, every scenario from past couple of months to past one week playing out ,the truth dawning on her and the first reaction ...to kill herself...impulsive yet she would embrace death that be married to him...only later does she realize the repercussions of her act ...she has to go through because the future of Amer ,her family depends on it

Rajat lives and breathes Jalal...leaves me speechless and like a blushing teen...am in awe of this guy ...such command he has over his character even the minutest details ..👏

for the first time mainavati stood upto her role as the Queen ,her sound advice cloaked with helplessness and desperation .It seems dadisaa did manage to drill some sense into her ...the scene froze on a determined jODHA wiping her tears ,strong willed once again and the pre cap

the calm with which she puts forward her shart and even when both the sides are on their feet, agitated ,perturbed ,she sits with the calmness of a saint ,eyes lowered yet determined just like a princess ...

the other scenes MA trying hard to instigate Jalal against jodha..am sure she is going to wonder in future as to why Jalal is willing to give into jodha ,she is going to be the first to realise there is more to this than political alliance or a game .I always thought it would be Ruqaiyya atleast smiley'e Ruqaiyya who would sense his beating heart for Jodha but with the new version i have no hopes...it is going to be MA who will see through and sense that there is more to this rajkumaari from Amer

thoroughly enjoyed the episode and cannot wait for the next one...cannot wait for them to reach Agra,to see the reaction of his harem especially Mallika-e-Hind...

RT and paridhi along with the entire support cast were brilliant and so was the set ,ambience and direction ...

My dear Anjani,

It is very nice to have you back. And at last I have a name to respond to! I prefer this, though the id was charming too, literally.

Your para on Bhagwan Das is very perceptive, and the first that I have seen, including my own, that makes this point and makes is so lucidly and convincingly. Very nice.

I agree with all your other, very interesting comments bar three.

1) This 14/15 year old is not the baby in the works you are referring to, for that bhabhi was not Bhagwan Das's wife but the wife of one of the other 3 - one brother and 2 cousins. It is not that the CVs do not goof up bit time, especially on dates and ages, but for once, not here. In any case, the place is littered with kids - see the 5 little saalis who turned up last night!

2) My dear, you are too idealistic about marriages, especially royal ones. A marriage is always about give and take, and this is rarely, even in the 21st century, and anywhere in the world, only about love - which is a rather rare commodity anyway, as distinct from affection, caring, loyalty and a sense of belonging together, To revert, why is it that many girls today would prefer a guy with a Ferrari to one with a Maruti Swift (the 800 having gone the way of the dodo!), or a guy who takes them to a five star eatery to one who takes them to a pav bhaji stall? It is natural, if superficial and somewhat mercenary. From the boy's side, he tries to to get the campus queen to date him. One wants one thing and the other wants another and so a deal is struck.

Similarly, in those royal alliances, especially when the lives of tens of thousands was at stake, a daughter is a useful bargaining chip. It is realpolitik, or raison d'etat, if you will, and it is still alive and kicking in 2013, only in a different guise.

3) As for Jodha's two sharts, they are not chosen because they define who she is as a person. They are chosen so that Jalal cannot, in Jodha's estimation of his character, possibly accept them., and so he will have to back out of the marriage. He proves her wrong, because he is a better chess player who thinks 2 moves ahead of his opponent, whereas Jodha can think only one move ahead. He is watching her like a hawk, the two pardhas notwithstanding, and he spots the telltale signs that show him what she is really up to. He immediately spikes her guns, and in style.

Ah, how I have missed you and your magical words. The way you bring the different flavors of this saga is as splendid as the man himself , The Great Akbar. I am sure he would have been beyond honored to be immortalized in words with such finesse.

So I finally caught up with the episode and my , have they not raised the royal quotient. Finally we see the grandeur of Rajputana.

Bhagwand Das - More and more I watch of Bhagwan Das, I get why Raja Bharmal selected him as the heir apparent. The man is non-conflictive, he is not driven by his sword , there is a sense of duty and restraint which suited the throne of Amer. He was a 2.0 version of Bharmal himself, who would rather marry off his sister to the enemy instead wage a war. A step Sujamal and the likes would never have given a thought even. BD sets the precedent of all the following Amer rulers who used the tact of diplomacy rather than the might of the swords to safeguard their territory.

The Emperor and his protege - Apart from the blooper that how come Man Singh grow up this big when last I heard Jodha finding out about the pregnancy during the war against the Mughals. Jai ho the creative liberties. The young Prince justifies all the laurels and accolade his name goes on to symbolize in the history books. He reminded Jalal of Jodha and himself. The virtues of a warrior yet the tact of a royal. He earned his respect from Jalal when he didn't mince words about his views on him as still being an enemy while knowing the stature of the man standing in front of him. His journey towards being one of the jewels of Akbar's court would be interesting. Jalal was both amused and proud of this young man.

Dulha confusion- Frankly, I just cannot relate to the fact that Jodha has been kept in the blind about her nuptials with her sworn enemy by the whole palace. What were the parents thinking that Jodha would be easier to appease once the knot is tied, she won't feel cheated and somewhat compromise herself for a life she would rather die than imagine. The hide and seek ,not letting her know the identity of her Dulha, what are they playing at . Surely a more articulate approach would be a heart to heart dialog with a daughter who is brave enough to put herself in the path of any obstacle to save the kingdom. I would be happy, if Jodha decides to give a cold shoulder to each one of them. It saddens me that beyond the royal finery these Princesses were traded for better deals, their life - a golden cage.

Jalal- Rajat Tokas, you are beyond brilliant, single handedly raising the bar of acting not only in your own serial but in the whole tubular medium. He lives and breathes Akbar. The slight smile and the flick of the eye , he makes Jalal a personality. Bravo , young man.
Major points for having an effective network of spies, now please extend that to your harem as well. he wants to possess Jodha , wants to drive amusement in watching a woman who dared to be-head him bow hers' willingly so that he can put a garland and call her his own. He wants to see the anger in Jodha's eyes as she compromises her ideals for her kingdom. This would give him immense pleasure and a sense of accomplishment. Hence his desire to make sure Jodha knows what she is signing for. He check mated the Rajputs when he suggested the Muhdikhayi, he intended Jodha to see her fate before she accepts it with her own will. He wanted to savor every emotion that she would undergo while realizing the fact, that was hidden by her own well-wishers. He made sure she saw and heard him, he relished very shade of expressions on Jodha's astonished face. His ego enjoyed at winning this battle with Jodha. But what he doesn't knowis that its this silent defiance of Jodha that will win her his respect and love.

Mainawati- Finally the women is coming to terms with the reality. Her hesitation during the Tilak ceremony, and again Jalal understanding the mother behind the MahaRani and tilting his head for the Tilak. That moment is so significant , marking the shift from the hostile policies of Mughals to more tolerant and secular ones, laying the foundation of the whole essence of Akbar's rule.

Maham Anga- this character once enthralled me but now is completely over-played. Her disappointment while watching Jalal being tolerant to the Hindu defeated royals had her flabbergasted, she sneered at Jalal speaking for Jodha, she has no idea what is going to hit her. Yet her overt expressions undermine her fine brain. The character should be more subdued as Ila Arun's, she made it cold and menacing without raising a single finger.

Shaifaudin- Sharp and clever. his slight sucking up to Jalal and his reference to his brother in law as Emperor still ,shows he is very much in control of himself than that good for nothing Adam Khan.

Jodha- Paridhi -hatts off. Whatever worries I might have with the character, you surpass each one of them with your expressions. The way her body reacts to everything Mughal and to her obsession with Jalal. I cannot wait to see her in Agra. The moment she saw jalal's reflection , her eyes refused to see and acknowledge the truth the water held, to the sheer shock and numbness when the dupatta flew forcing her to set her eyes on the man who is going to be the one she might have to pray for longevity was the same demon she wanted to be-head. Ah, the irony of life. Her instincts advising her to take her life, a fate much welcomed , to her disheveled self as she listened to her mother reminding her of the Raj Dharm, her transformation to a resolved, strong and willed Rajputani was phenomenon. Beautifully done.

Two conditions- The courage of Jodha , inspite of knowing the grave danger her Amer might face, she put forth two conditions she knows somewhat defines who she is. Ofcourse Jalal is going to agree letting the winds of Mughal empire change and probably by this move he would become more real to the people of his rule. And ofcourse he would be more fascinated by Jodha and her bravery. The ways of the heart.

My apologies and regret at missing last week of JA. But you as usual keep on spell-binding all of us with your magnificent narration. Loads of love.
