Hey everyone.. Arjunians, ETF-ians,  Arakshians..  πŸ˜ƒ

Here's something dedicated exclusively to Arakshi-lovers and of course, my regular readers, who I love torturing, as always.. (And MY BB's)

(Wrote it in a hurry and had to post it off, else I'd take forever to wrap it up.. Please excuse errors, if any)

Anyhow,  like they say, 'Love is a sweet poison.. It kills you either way..'

So am I.. Like me or hate me, I don't really care as long as you stay within permissible limits..

Limits crossed and then you'd see a very different Avantika, my loves.. And that's a promise..

As the hotwa says, 'Jo main kehti hoon, woh main karti hoon.. Aur jo main nahi kehti, woh main zaroor karti hoon.."

That's all for today..

Cupcakes, frozen yoghurts, rotten tomatoes are welcome.. Sugary-fake, wannabe sarcastic comments aren't..

Anyway, enjoy a new offering..

P.S.: It's really long.. But I thought of posting it all together rather than to keep u waiting..

SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE..

Sakshi Anand had been a happy go lucky girl, 3 years back..

Success and fame as an ace crime reporter at an early age wasn't something she had aimed for as a child.. But then, when had her life ever followed the usual norms..

She had lost her mother at a tender age and watched her father struggle for every breath he took, yet she refused to break down..

She had realised it early in life that if she did not stand up for herself, no one would..

And hence, she had strived hard day and night in a man's world and had reached her final destination, the ETF..

Back at the ETF, her life had turned upside down when the unexpected happened..

Amidst goofy smiles, cheeky grins and cold glares, she had lost her heart to a cold and ruthless man, ACP Arjun Rawte..
Strike 2 - yet another unplanned occurrence which threw her life off course..

Sakshi had initially brushed away her feelings as a passing attraction or even hero-worship, only to realise later on that what she felt for him went way deeper than all of that put together..

His raw power and sheer strength floored her but it was the compassionate and warm man who hid behind the facade that she had fallen for..

Strike 3..  Arjun had finally fulfilled his promise to his dead wife and just when he was losing his purpose in life, a budding beautiful sensation was slowly gripping him..
To his utter surprise, he had started to find solace in Sakshi's company..

Her banter and always-there plastered smiles no longer annoyed him and his sharp glares had slowly been replaced by warm smiles..

Unspoken words were being said between the two but it were the others that needed to be voiced out, that gave them both nightmares..

Sakshi wasn't sure of how to approach him.. She hadn't realised whether it was love or not; but she knew one thing for sure.. She needed to be around him for herself to remain sane.. His mere presence in her life assured her that it was worth living for.. And yet, it was the very thing that scorched her from within..

Arjun's state was no different..
Having believed in 'love happens only once', all his life, he failed to understand if what he felt for Sakshi was remotely close to the relationship he had shared with Roshni..

Even while their hearts were involved in a conflict with their over-analytical minds, both failed to fight off the temptation..
Affectionate eyelocks in the rear-view mirror, moments of long silence upon bumping into each other were slowly replaced by walks along deserted streets after work and unspoken words being said and heard by the other..

But it was only when Sameer and Ayesha had intervened and brainwashed both of them into realising their feelings that they had understood the depth of the unnamed relationship binding them..

A warm confession from Arjun put her inhibitions to rest and she had given in, though only after revealing her truth to him..

Sakshi's father, ex-ETF Chief, Amar Anand was now lying on a hospital bed surrounded by beeping machines, counting his last breath.. Her mother had already succumbed to fatal injuries in the attack on the Anand's home years ago..

Sakshi had been at hostel, during those days and had escaped all of it.. Though not afflicted by any physical injuries, Sakshi had suffered from enough mental trauma for nearly half her life..

A warm, consoling hug from the man she loved was all it had taken for the broken girl to pick up pieces of her life and attempt to put them together..

Arjun and her relationship had changed overnight followed by the revelation..

He had realised that he had misjudged her all along.. She too, was a replica of him, hiding her true self behind a mask..
Each time he saw her smiling, it pained him, since now he was aware of the storm brewing within her.. Having been at the receiving end once, he knew if not contained within time, it would rip her apart..

And it was that very realisation that made him take a step he'd never thought he would..

Sakshi Anand had become Sakshi Arjun Rawte in a few day's time and her life had never been the same since..

The blissful marriage had brought along its share of beautiful moments, responsibilities and healing powers.. Just when the couple was getting used to the new developments in their relationship, things turned sour one morning..

It had been the day of Roshni's 5th death anniversary.. And as always, Arjun had been at his ruthless best, thwarting every comforting advance made towards him; even Sakshi's..

Though she had been deeply hurt when he had locked himself up all day, a deeper and grave fear bore its seed into her mind that night..

Was he regretting their relationship? Had he still not moved on? Was Roshni still the centre of his world? And would it be, that way, forever?

Sakshi had witnessed his love and dedication towards Roshni in the past.. And having loved and lost her dear ones, she knew losses were irreplaceable.. Nothing could ever make up for Roshni's loss in his life.. Not even her..

Though it hurt her at times, she knew the man too well to hold anything against him.. She had witnessed his love, affection, anger, guilt, pain, hatred, indifference, all of it.. And hence she knew better than to doubt his love for her..

Sakshi dismissed her inhibitions and insecurities and began making new attempts to save her marriage from crumbling further..

And yet again, when she had brought him out of the shadows, her own life was on the verge of being plunged into darkness..

During one of her private investigations, Sakshi had stumbled upon evidences pointing at a renowned politician being the mastermind behind the attack on her father..

The first sensible thought that crossed her mind had been sharing the news with Arjun, her husband.. But another look at ACP Arjun and she wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do..

Revealing the truth would mean, Arjun would personally take up the investigation and hence, get the ETF involved as well..
Sakshi had enough evidences to realise that the people behind the heinous crimes were still roaming around scott free, working behind the scenes and were untouchable..
Though she never doubted Arjun or the ETF's efficiency in her right mind, the traumatised 15-year old girl within her could never overlook the dangers it possessed..

Though unreasonable at first, the feeling only grew stronger as she began digging deeper into the case and she had made up her mind.. She would never endanger their lives, knowing the possible repercussions of her actions..

While Sakshi had been stressed about reconsidering her  decisions, all hell had broken loose when Arjun had accidentally stumbled upon the evidences gathered by her..

After a series of arguments and reassurances between the two, the ETF had officially taken charge of the case..
Just when things were progressing too smoothly to be true, Sakshi's worst fears had come true..

The ETF's integrity was being questioned by the media, by their superiors and by their own people since the case involved an ex-ETF Chief..

Matters began to worsen further when Arjun was framed with tampering of evidences and consequently dismissed from service temporarily..

Those had been true testing times for Sakshi, both the ETF-ian and the wife..

Having known Arjun's tragic past and his not-so-healthy relationship with his father, he knew the job meant much more to him than a meager source of income..

Having worked beside him, she had witnessed his passion and his flair at work.. She had often watched him being restless and tossing in bed, all night when they'd left a case pending overnight..

Sulking all day at home, while the rest of the team was busy dodging volleys of questions and snide remarks thrown their way, the incidents had taken their toll on him..

And on their relationship too..

In a fit of rage and momentary loss of control, he ended up blaming it all on Sakshi..

The emotional wreck that she was back then, it was too much for her to bear..

Her father's name being dragged into controversy, the ETF being attacked, her failing marriage and watching the strong cop crumble right in front of her made her take a drastic step; one she'd never even dreamt of..

Being the filer of the complaint, she withdrew the case, causing more chaos in their already turmoiled lives and earning Arjun's wrath..

Eventually, when she couldn't take any more of his anger and indifference, she left..

Leaving behind a part of her with him.. Taking away a part of him..

If their lives had been difficult before, it had gotten worse after she left.. He was too angry and mad at her to miss her initially..

But it was only when his anger subsided and her reasons for leaving him dawned upon him, did he sense the hollow she had left behind..

Yet, his ego and pride refused to let him bow down to her and get her back..

Though he would feign ignorance at the mention of her, only his heart knew how much he missed her when he returned to the confines of the home they had built together..

He missed her warm embraces, her silly banters, her cheeky grins and the unspoken love in her eyes..

Arjun had loved and lost his only family; a second time.. And this time, he had turned even more reclusive and reckless..

Sakshi had received an unexpected call from Sameer few days ago, requesting her help with some information on the mafia..

Though her heart had leaped at the prospect of seeing Arjun after a span of two years, she had silenced its protests and offered to help him over the phone..

And yet, when her aching heart won over the rational side of her, the first thing she had done was dashed towards the ETF Headquarters only to be greeted with a distressing news..

Sameer and Arjun had gone in, without waiting for the backup force and were outnumbered in the fight that had broken out..

It was only a miracle that both had escaped with a gunshot each, but their ladies wouldn't have any of it..
Ayesha had put Sameer under house arrest, while Arjun had fled from the hospital without informing the others..

Ever since her return, Sakshi had been by his side nursing him without any words having been spoken between the two..

Arjun had been disappointed when she chose to leave every night only to return back in the morning, before he was awake..

Sakshi was hurt because he hadn't asked her stay back..

They had both come to believe that it was all over.. The relationship had reached a point of no return and try as much as they would, it wouldn't work out..
Until this morning..

The cracks in their voices, silently conversing hurtful eyes and warm gestures had awakened frail hopes within them..

Maybe all wasn't lost yet..

They knew talking it out would solve most of the issues between them and yet that is exactly what they dreaded..

For, they'd never been good with words with each other but this time around, Arjun was determined to have her back..

To hell with her reasoning, she's not leaving me.. I can live with her hatred and indifference; but not without her.. Never without her..

A tear rolled out of her eye and she raised her hand to wipe her moist eyes, but to her surprise, warm fingers had already done the job and were now caressing her cheek..

She tilted her head to look at him and found Arjun crouched on one knee in front of her..
His eyes held immense warmth and a depth, she could drown into that very moment..

Her fingers found their way atop his and she cupped his palm, pressing her cheek into it..

This was her heaven..

She had missed him and his loving gestures..
Every pain and suffering ceased to exist when he loved her like a woman always wished for..

He was the reason for and yet the only cure for the fires seething within her.. Her need and attachment to him was unfathomable, even to her, at times..

And now that he was close to her, after what seemed like ages to her, she was struggling to hold herself back and give in to her heart's temptations..

Arjun felt her tears drip down his palm and raised himself on a knee. He wrapped an arm around her waist pulling her into him, placing her head on his shoulder and sat on the sofa chair

Sakshi closed her eyes and snuggled into him snaking an arm around his neck and hugging him gently..

The couple sat still, conveying apologies and demanding forgiveness for their rash actions in the past, pleading and asking for a second chance..

Maybe, words weren't needed at the moment.. They never were..

She buried herself into his inviting chest and wound both arms around him, crushing her soft form against his muscular one..

Arjun let go of her face and held her head gently, entangling his fingers into her soft hair as the other arm pulled her further into him..

Both knew each other well to guess that once they got over the trance-like state, they were in at the moment, they would end up hurting each other, though unwillingly..

Sakshi couldn't stay back as much as she wanted to; not until he admitted that he wanted to..
And yet, she wasn't sure if he would, since she had realised it long back, that her husband was a unique specimen..

Jo main kehta hoon, woh main karta hoon.. Aur jo main nahi kehta, woh main zaroor karta hoon..

Not trusting herself and her betraying heart anymore, she slowly released herself from his hold and moved away.. Arjun let her free her hand and grabbed her wrist, when she stood up to walk away..
Sakshi hadn't expected him to do that and stumbled backwards, gripping his shoulder for support..

He decided to make the most of it and walked her backwards to the wall behind her with his eyes fastened onto hers..
"Wapas kyun aayi ho?"

She lowered her lashes and tried to move away but froze when he placed both palms on either side of her trapping her.

Arjun gently shook his head and tried another one,
"Toh yeh bata do ki chali kyun gayi thi?"

Sakshi swallowed the lump in her throat and looked away, not trusting herself to speak.. But it was only when she heard his next words that the spark within her was reignited..

He moved close to her until she could feel his breath on her face and whispered,
"You wanted to stay back at ETF.. Tum hi ne mujhe challenge kiya tha.. Phir?"

She looked at him with disbelief and tears and then shrugged away her weaknesses. She glared at him with wide eyes, "Tum nahi jaante, main kyun gayi thi? Sach mein, ACP Arjun?"

Arjun smirked since he knew better than to be provoked at her words,
"Kyunki tum kamzor thi, Sakshi.. You were weak.. Tum naahi apne aap ko sambhaal paayi aur naahi humare rishte ko.."

She stared at him for a moment and then looked away when his words hit home..
Yes, she had been weak to not hang in there, until the brewing storm had subsided.. She had chosen the escapist way..

Her eyes welled up again and she stood still, not being able to retaliate back..
If there was one thing, Arjun could never stand, it was tears in a woman's eyes..

And Sakshi's tears stabbed at his heart every single time..

He knew he had hurt her but he needed to show her the mirror.. He needed her to know that her walking away had made a difference to him..

She felt his hands drop down and slowly slip around her waist, pulling her flush against him.. She clenched her eyes shut, wanting to get away from his probing touch that very instant..

Arjun shook his head and resisted the urge to engulf her in a tight embrace.. My naive wifey..

Yet, he was far from giving up.. He needed her to say it aloud to convince them both.. He leaned closer and whispered
"Toh ab bata do ki wapas kyun aayi ho? Jab Rathore ne tumse kaha tha ki tum apne Papa ko insaaf dilane ke baad humein join kar sakti ho, tab tumne mana kyun kar diya?"

Sakshi had enough of his interrogation.. She held his hands and wriggled in his arms, "Chodo mujhe.. Tum kabhi nahi samjhoge.."

Arjun grinned at her failed attempts and held her chin, "Aadhi baat toh main bohot pehle  samajh gaya tha.. Ab baaki tum samjha do.."

Sakshi sniffed and finally gave up.. She looked away for a moment and then glared at him,
"Fine! Bulvana chahte ho na? Toh bol rahi hoon..
Tum dono jakhmi the.. Chot lagi thi tum dono ko.. Kaise nahi aati?"

Arjun sensed the cracks in her voice but decided to press her further; he knew she was never leaving him ever again..

He crooked a brow and stepped back, "Oh.. Toh tab kyun nahi aayi, jab tumhare team members bula rahe the?
Shree, Chotu, Ayesha, Sam sab ne tumhe wapas bulaya.. Tum humari help karti rahi phone par vital clues dekar.. But.. You never returned.. Why?"

She parted her lips to speak but he beat her to it, "Toh ab kyun? A bruise or two is a normal thing, right and you know it.. Phir?"

Tears continued to drip down her cheeks furiously and Arjun placed a knuckle beneath on her damp cheeks,
"Jaanta hoon.. Ek nahi do goliyan thi..

Aur tum wahan baithkar kissi corrupt ganje criminal pe investigative report taiyaar karti baitho.. Yeh toh impossible tha, hai na Miss Publicist?"

Sakshi's nose flared at his teasing tone and she shrugged his hand away.. The next instant, he felt a push at his shoulder and saw his fiesty wife with a red nose glaring at him..
He grinned at his victory and waited for her to explode.. True to her nature, she did..

She grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him closer, "Bata nahi sakte the? Ayesha ka call aane par meri jaan nikal gayi thi.."

Her fingers grazed past his bandaged arm and forehead, "Waise toh doosron ko samjhate phirte ho, khud itne laparwah kaise ho gaye? Superhero samajhte ho apne aap ko? Agar kuch ho jaata toh?"

Arjun moved his hand to the back of her head, pulled her closer and whispered against her lips,
"Toh  itni si baat ko kehne ke liye, itna attitude kyun dikha rahi thi?"

Sakshi raised her brows and stood on her toes, winding her arms around him,
"Kya hai na.. Ab tumhare saath rehkar, thodi si bigad gayi hoon.. Aur phir, itna toh mera haq banta hai na, ACP Arjun Rawte!"

He chuckled and nuzzled her nose, "Haq toh humesha se tumhara hi tha, Mrs. Rawte bass tumne kabhi jataya hi nahi.."

She looked at him through teary eyes and cupped his face, "Darrti thi, ki kahin tumhe pasand na aaye toh.. Kahin tum.."

Arjun had realised her insecurity long back and had wanted to clarify things with her.. But, his ego had held him back at first and then she had walked away..

But today, that he had a chance, he wasn't going to let go of it..
He gently spun her around and pointed towards a painting on the wall..

Sakshi knew what he meant and looked at him but he held her chin firmly and made her look at it while he spoke,
"Roshni isse adhoora chodkar gayi thi, Sakshi.. And you completed it...
Aaj bhi mujhe uss painting mein Roshni ki jhalak dikhayi deti hai.. Jaanti ho kyun?"

He spoke up when she looked on, "Because you haven't wiped away her existence; neither from the painting nor from my life.. But, you've complimented it.."

Sakshi shook her head to protest but he silenced her with a finger on her lips,
"No.. Let me speak.. I know, I've been a fool at times.. I should've helped you get rid of your insecurities long back.. And by the time, I'd realised it, it was too late.."

She sobbed and he held her closer, "Roshni kabhi humare beech nahi thi..
Kyunki tumne usse humari zindagi ka hissa bana liya tha..

Tum dono hi mere wajood ka hissa ho.. I've lost her already.. Ab tumhe nahi khona chahta.."

That was more than what she had ever expected.. It was a confession of his love and dedication to her..
She spun around and hugged him, unleashing the reins on her fears and doubts..

Arjun winced in pain at the sudden jerk but held her close when she tried to move away, "Stay.."

One word.. The very word, she had been yearning to hear for the past two years..
She knew he wasn't referring to his embrace but to his life which was now incomplete without her..

Sakshi nodded and went into his inviting embrace, vowing to herself to never desert him ever again..

Arjun tightened his hold on her and burrowed himself in the crook of her neck and shoulder, relishing the warmth, he had missed for years..

They stood still for what seemed like ages, attempting to heal each other but soon the warm embrace wasn't enough..

She felt his hands explore her back and whispered, breaking their trance,
"Arjun.. I think you should rest.. And you're breakfast is waiting too.. "

His lips curled into a smile and she felt it against her skin..
He pecked her softly and released her, only to grab her wrist when she moved away, "I've been waiting for you too.."

She chuckled at the desperation in his voice, "Get a grip, ACP.. You're hurt.."

Arjun walked her backwards to the bedroom and grinned, "And only you can heal me.."

Sakshi was soon trapped between the shut door and his muscular form and let out a gasp only to be silenced with a light peck on her lips,
"Shh.. No more words, Mrs. Rawte.. We've talked enough.. Definitely more than we should have.."

She turned a shade of crimson red when he lowered her onto the mattress and sprawled on top of her, "Waise.. I'm warning you again ACP, you're hurt.. We could stop now, if you want.."

Arjun pressed his lips together deliberating over the suggestion and pinned her arms above her head the next second, "Considered and dismissed, Mrs. Rawte.."

Sakshi chuckled when he threw her scarf over his shoulder and dipped down to kiss her..

Her chuckle had disappeared in an instant and she knew she was finally home..

Rathore slammed the phone on his bed, "Dammit! Yeh Rawte bhi hadh karta hai.."

Ayesha held a mug of coffee for him, "Samjha kijiye, ACP Rathore, Mrs. Rawte is home again.."

Rathore chuckled and clinked his mug with his heavily pregnant wife as she settled next to him..

Life was bliss.. Who said cops didn't have a life!

Yeh tune kya kar dala behna, mar dala...(Madhuri ishtyle!)πŸ˜†

Wow, this was too good behna, you just made me fall in love with our favorite pair all over again.

Okay, we may not get to see this type of love between them in the show anytime soon, if at all, who can stop our imaginations, right?

This was emotional yet so so lovely. I loved the way their friendship evolved into a loving relationship..it sure wasn't a easy journey, and you proved that there is more beyond love and confession of love.

They both made mistakes and misunderstood each other, words spoken out of anger and frustration were taken to heart, the trust was shaken and restored...it was just so beautifully written that it wasn't hard to imagine the whole thing.

If one is stubborn than other is no less yet in the end their love won over everything. They both realized that what they had between the two of them was too special to let go so easily.

Loved that he understood her insecurities and finally put them to rest and from there it was nothing but happily ever after.

Sweet poison is a very apt name for you because I am sure not only me but many are going to die by your sweet poison.πŸ˜‰

This was perrrfect...πŸ˜›

P.S. It seems Arjunji has thought you his style of SYS, πŸ˜† That was also nothing less than perfect I assure you.

Love, your other half of RMJ.πŸ˜ƒ

Very Sorry My Sweet Poison...

I m late..

But Today I wont talk about the beautiful story you have written.. After reading this I have something else in mind..

Well, Avni di...

Your Works were the first and foremost reason that made me a part of this Forum (I wish "Ppl" read thisπŸ˜‰)

And it were your this type of OS or SS that had hooked me here.

We had & have  plenty of work works where Arjun is fightng something, or getting away from his past. etc etc...

But in-midst all these a few works where Arjun and Riya were a couple and in a married life or something else, was very refreshing.

I m so so so glad that U have drafted this OS in the similar fashion.
πŸ˜ƒ

I had missed this type of work and you brought it back..

Please continue giving more work in the similar fashion.
(Married, kids etc etcπŸ˜‰)

Oh yeah..

Thank you so muchπŸ€—

I love you My Sweet Poison❀️

Avantika this is one of the best OS I have read You described their feelings perfectly

They couldn't live without each other but their ego was not letting them apologize

" He wants to say I love You, but keeps it to goodnight. Because love will mean someone falling, and she is afraid of heights"

The insecurity which Sakshi felt was natural as she thought that he will never give her the place he had given to Roshni

Even if they were staying away from each other, the memories of their moments together were alive in their hearts and minds.

"When my heart  refuses to hate you, my mind plays the last memory of us"

I just loved the ending. They sorted out their differences and decided to stay together.. Forever β€οΈ

Do write more stories. You are an amazing writer.
