"How dare you!" Sharon Rai Prakash
frowned at a 19 year old boy who by mistakenly hit her. 

"I did it by mistake, miss attitude
queen." The calm 19 year old boy answered. 

"Don't you dare call me that!" She
said, still frowning. "And don't you dare try to be over smart with me." 

"I'm not." He said calmly. "I'm just
stating the facts." 

"Guys stop it! For the last time both
of you are on a trip here and you are not supposed to argue here."

"Tell this jerk to stop!" Sharon said loudly.

"You started yelling at me for no
apparent reason! That's not my fault." 

"You bumped into me and hit me!" She
scowled.

"It was by mistake!"

"Stop it guys!" Rey finally came
between them. "Are you two kids? Don't you know how to behave properly? We have
to wait here until some help comes. Okay? Now please be patient." 

They were on a college trip to
Manali. Four days into the trip, they were divided in teams and asked to collect
information about the place. Educational trip it was, after all. 

Sharon and her best friend Rey, and
her best enemy Swayam, the 19 year old guy who just a few seconds back had an
argument with her for no reason at all, were co incidentally in the same group.
And the group consisted of only three of them since no one else had volunteered
to venture into remote and inhabited parts of the city. 

It was night, precisely 9 pm and
three of them were very hungry. They didn't know the way back to their hotel
since the city was totally unknown to them. They were wandering for a long time
in search of something worthwhile but to no avail. 

"I'll go and get some help." Rey said after some time.

"That's what we are doing Rey. Trying
to search for help." 

"Wait.. I think we should divide
ourselves."

"How dare you say that Rey? I am a
girl and I shouldn't be the one roaming all alone at this hour in a totally
unknown city." Sharon said. 

"Okay if you don't want to roam
alone, I'll go alone and you two go in the opposite direction. If any one of us
gets help, we'll meet here again okay? We remember this place now right? You
see this tree?? 

"Rey this is a baddd idea." Swayam
said stressing on the word bad. "I am not gonna stay here with this girl."

"I have a name." Sharon said giving
him a stern look. 

"Whatever'. But the point is that I
don't want to spend time with her."

"No one is asking you to spend time
with her Swayam' Just be with her for some time! I'll go and check for help." 

"But Rey'" Sharon and Swayam said in
unison.

"No buts people. Please stay here
until I come back." 

Saying this Rey, covered his ears
with his hands leaving behind a very confused Swayam and an utterly disgusted
Sharon behind.

Although Rey knew his plan was lame,
he only wanted to do a good deed by leaving both of them together. So that they
could get to know each other. And stop hating each other. 

"I'm leaving." Swayam said after a 5
minute hiatus, breaking the silence.

"Where are you going?" Sharon asked.

"Somewhere' away from you." 

"Don't you have any kind of
respect??? Are you freaking kidding me? Do you actually want to leave a girl
behind alone at this hour of night?"

Swayam imitated her by moving his
lips monotonously. "I don't care. You can take care of yourself." He said, not
facing her.

"Right, you know me very well and
hence you are saying that I suppose?" 

"You don't look like a scared cat."
Swayam said, still not facing her.

"I'm not scared." She said, trying to
make him face her.

"Then I should leave!" Swayam
prepared to walk.

"Where are you going?" She asked him
and he stopped on hearing that. "You have nowhere to go to. Neither do you have
any relative here, nor do you know the way back to the hotel." She crossed her
hands.

Swayam faced her trying to put up a
"I'm still winning" face.. But she looked more stern than him.

"Okay' I know there are less
possibilities of this working out but we have to make a move together.
Otherwise both of us will be stuck with each other until Rey returns and we
certainly don't want that, do we?"

Sharon subtly shook her head in disappointment.

"Let's walk' In search of help okay?
This would be certainly better than spending the rest of our lives like this."

"Excuse me?" Sharon's brow
corrugated. "Spending the rest of our lives means what?? Would you care to
explain?" 

"No! Let's walk and search for help."

"You are irritating." She said.

"You'll have to tolerate me for more time though." Swayam gave her a smirk.

I completely understand the fact that chapter one had nothing much to give! But as you read further, your mind will answer all the questions about this story! I promise. Stay tuned. :D
