LOOTERA Registers Below Average Day One
"Lootera"was never expected to start big but after all the over the top publicity and high decibel activity on twitter, film managed very average number on day one.
Film opened poorly and never grew during the course of the day and that was because of arty feel and lack of entertainment value in the film. Film managed 4.50 cr nett on day one.

With a 9 odd months baby to take care of, I have pretty much given up seeing movies in a cinema. The last movie I had watched in the cinema was YJHD, after nearly 2 years. And that too because it was a gift from someone. It was sort of okay, good in bits.
So when I read the review here yesterday, I decided this is probably the kind of movie that is worth watching in a cinema.
There are movies that one likes, that one tends to appreciate after the show ends, but there are very few that stay with you, even a day after. This morning I woke up thinking that Lootera is probably more beautiful that what i experiences, when I watched it yesterday. Now that when im sitting and writing this review, I cant help but recall some of the smaller nuances of the movie, appreciate it more, so much that I want to see the movie again.
Lootera is what i would call poetry in motion- every scene is a vivid painting that captures you, captivates you and transports you into a different world. SLB this is how you depict a big canvas without going over board.
When you see movies like Lootera you realise why people call cinema as an art. The visual medium very often leaves little to imagination, little to your interpretation. But Lootera is as much a feast for the brain and heart as it is for the eyes.
Beyond all the fabulous cinematography, acting, dialogues, clothes, art direction, stands tall a man who translated his vision, his dream fluidly onto screen. Take a bow Mr Motwane.
Irrespective of how the film fares at a box office, i can confidently say that none of the people associated with the movie will ever look back. Every now and then comes a movie, that is grossly under performing commercially, but over the year, over generations people sit back, take notice, engage in the magical experience, thereby defining it as a Classic.
Lootera is a timeless classic, period!

You know, one thing struck me...
Sonakshi and Ranveer are both extremely youngin the industry...are both kind of born withsilver spoons in their mouths, she, daughter ofa hot shot 70s hero, he, states educated...WHERE on earth did they get the resources toproduce the kind of emotions, they managed toportray? There was a gamut of expressions, for her - intense attraction, disbelief, agonyof discovering betrayal, white blind hate, and being torn between loving and hating at thesame time. For him - the surprise of becoming an object of desire, slowly succumbing to her charms, intense emotionalconflict as to whether to respond or not, the anguishof having to decide between the two most importantpeople in his life, despair, guilt, self hatred, remorse. These situations do not happen on a daily basis,or on such a deep level in normal life,, but the youngto the industry twosome pulled off every one of thesedifficult portrayals like theyve been actually livingthese things in their real lives!!! One would expect itof an Naseeruddin Shah or Shabana Azmi. Not ranveer sonakshi.Amazing!👏
