|| SS : Muse of Fire ||Chapter 2 (a)

ETF Headquarters
ETF second in command, ACP Arjun Rawte was in his usual chair, sipping on his cutting chai while twirling a pen; meaning he was deep in thoughts.

He stared at the board containing all the informations about "Scarred". He was indeed, one of the most dangerous serial killers he'd seen. Quite unusual and different too. Not the solitary and compulsive serial killers he was used to.

ETF technical expert Shreekant Sen and Black-ops specialist Chandrakant Patil took their usual seats while the ladies, Inspector Ayesha Kapoor and forensic expert Liza D'cruz walked in, talking about something. The last one to enter the discussion room was ETF chief Sameer Damsingh Rathore.

"Yaar mujhe toh yeh joint force samajh hi nehi aaya. Case humhe hi de dete. CBI lane ki kya jarurat thi?" Chotu whispered only for Shree to hear.
But to his utter dismay, his voice reached to Sameer and he replied before Shree could. "Kyuki #1, "Scarred" ek multinational criminal hai, so yeh case CBI ki under hi filed hai. 2 saal k baad phir se "Scarred" ki dehshat dikh raha hai. He's back and this time, in India. That's why they need us."

"That is really unnecessary. I'm sure, unke madad k bina bhi hum yeh case solve kar lete." Arjun said coolly. Rathore glared at the back of his seat. "Rawte, we've already talked about this."

Sensing their two bosses flaring up, Ayesha cleared her throat and asked, "Vaise who's this agent joining us?"
"Ayaana." Rathore started but a shriek from Liza shut him up. Everyone stared at her confused, even Arjun.
"Ayaana? As in Agent Ayaana Shroff?" Liza asked and gasped when Rathore nodded, crooking his brows.
"Tum usse kaise jaanti ho?" Shree asked.Liza's smile got wider. "Ek saal pehle ek case k liye maine unki team ko help kiya tha. She is a bomb. And brilliant. Female version of Arjun Sir." Liza bit her tongue as soon as the last line came out. 

While other listened to her amused, Arjun gave her a look which meant Watch-it-lady. Liza murmured a sorry.

"Aur ek Arjun sir, kyu bhagwan kyu?" Shree hissed, cursing his luck. Ek khadoos ka kam tha, ek dusra bhi aa rahi hai?
"Wasn't she supposed to join from today?" Ayesha asked.

"And she did." Came a voice. All turned their heads towards the door including Arjun. 

A stunning lady strode in, dressed all in black. Black pants tucked under a pair of black boots and a v-neck shirt covered with a black jacket. A holster was hidden under the jacket but it was empty. Her ID card was pinned to her belt near her left hip.
Not just utterly beautiful; Tall, lean and well-built, she had a body to die for..so much like a model. Long Midnight brown curls jumping with joy while she walked and her eyes..Her eyes held a perseverance..a fire that could ignite faster than anything. 

And with just a look or two, before he turned the other way; Arjun Rawte had noticed all these about her. 

"Hi!" She smiled, widely. 

Another shriek from Liza brought Shree and Chotu from their mouth-gaping state. Liza jumped into her feet and hugged her. She giggled and hugged her back. "Hey girl."
"neeh, yeh bilkul bhi Arjun sir ki tarah nehi hai." Shree said with relief and looked at Chotu and they both did a pranam to God.

"Hi, main hu Agent Ayaana Shroff, jo ek case ki liye aapke saath rahegi." Ayaana said, offering a smile to everyone.
"Welcome to ETF, I'm Sameer Rathore." Sameer said, shaking his hands with her. "Hi Sameer, heard a lot about you."
"Hope only the good stuffs." Sameer smiled. "Absolutely." She replied, smiling.
"You must be Ayesha kapoor?" Ayaana asked, holding out her hand. Ayesha nodded, amused. Surprising all of them, she shook hands with everyone before they could even introduce themselves.
"How do you know us?" Shree asked, unable to hide his amusement.
"I do my homework." She winked at him.

"Aab agar mulakat khatam ho gayi ho toh kaam ki baatein kare." Came a voice from behind the chair. Ayaana crooked her shoulder and stared at the chair.
"And you must be ACP Arjun?" she called out.
"You are late." With that he turned around to face her with a grim expression in his face which clearly meant he wasn't so pleased. Jinta suna tha usse bhi jyada Khadoos hai, Ayaana rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, nice to meet you too." Ayaana said with a sarcastic smile and Arjun glared back. "Ek baat batao, peydayeshi khadoos ho ya mujhe welcome gift de rahe ho?" She said, flattering her eyelashes, flaring him up to no extend.
"And to answer your question, I was supposed to report by 9 and it's only 8.30 so yeah, you're wrong." Ayaana snapped back, crossing her arms.

"uh uh..wrong move. Ab toh samjhe ya samjhau iski jaan le legi." Shree mumbled.

"Anyhu." She said, completely ignoring his glares while he tried to retort, took a seat beside Ayesha, fishing her gun from her back and putting it on the table. Everyone stared at her. Just like Arjun!
 "I'm the field commander and as you know, all of you are a part of the team. And I mean all of you."
"beside you and me, there are dozens of other agents and specialists from all around the world who'll help us behind the scenes. I guess, aap sab Senior Agent Razan Arooz ko jante hai, he's our profiler."

"Now.. our mission is to catch the killer codenamed "The scarred"." Rathore took over. "Who is a psycho serial killer/Rapist and everything bad you've ever heard. Bohot shateer hai."

"Itna bhi nehi." Arjun shot back.
"Excuse me?" Ayaana asked, turning her chair to his direction.
"Every serial killer has a pattern. And I'm sure he has a too." Arjun replied.
"Not necessarily. He's not the usual serial killer with a knife. When you think you've figured him out, he changes and proves you wrong." said Ayaana.
"Par koi toh lead hoga?" Ayesha asked.

"Nothing. He leaves nothing. Woh bohot safai se karta hai. Nothing to track." Ayaana uttered, getting grimed. "He's an omnivore. He kills for pleasure, that's all we know."
Her last line was barely a whisper which of course, didn't go unnoticed by Arjun. 
"So, we are searching for a killer with no identity and no information." Shree concluded.

"Pretty much." Ayaana stared at the white wall, counting the bricks. 
"but there are some possible safe houses Scarred could be in. So I am initiating raid on them almost every day." 

"If you've all mapped out then why do you need us?" Arjun asked, crooking a brow. Ayaana looked his way, checking him from face to down. "I don't.""Then why are you here?" Arjun shot back.
"hmmm..let's see." She pretended to ponder. "Oh yes!" her face lit up.
"Tumhe sudharne k liye." She said, giving him a crooked smile.

wow ur update was really awesome dude. The entry with attitude. Ayaana n arjun's clash was watch worthy. The meeting of tornado with volcano was full of tashan. Loved it n waiting for more.
