Bhushan Kumar is a happy man. Aashiqui 2 is the biggest blockbuster of 2013 so far, and the fact that it stars newcomers is a big thing. Bhushan says, "Aashiqui 2 was made at a budget of '10 crores and then another '8 crores for print and publicity. So altogether, the film has cost us '18 crore. Till now, A2 has made '75 crores net and '100 crores gross as per trade figures." Trade analyst Vajir Singh says, "Bhushan's unique promotional strategies are the reason why Aashiqui2 is the biggest blockbuster of 2013 till now. The music was superhit before the release and he booked spots on radio, TV and internet. So wherever people saw, the film was visible. The film has made '70.48 crores net till now. Another strategy which worked was pre-poning the release by two weeks. Normally, the music is out months before the movie releases and people get bored. This time the music was rocking the charts when Aashiqui2 released."
