Actor Suhasi Dhami talks to P Sharma about being a movie fanatic and spending quality time with her husband on weekends
For TV actors getting a weekend off is like a blessing. I have hectic work schedule and shoot for almost 15 hours a day. So, whenever I get some time away from the sets, I do anything and everything — from shopping to socialising. Everyday I get up early in the morning, so sleeping till late becomes necessary on weekends. Sometimes, I even sleep for almost half a day. Also, I make sure that my husband pampers me enough on weekends. I neither cook nor perform any household chores. All the duties — from preparing bed to planning dates — are my husband's responsibility.
I am a movie-addict! My husband and I love watching movies and sometimes we spend our entire day watching films. Our day starts with a morning show around 11; even we eat our breakfast in the cinema hall. Then we have lunch in a mall or at our favourite restaurant and then again head for another show. At times, we watch four movies a day and return home completely exhausted. But both of us have different choice of movies and that creates a problem sometimes. While I enjoy watching romantic movies, my husband enjoys out and out masala flicks, loaded with humour and action. We lately watched a few Oscar-nominated movies and enjoyed thoroughly.
These days I am totally busy with the preparations for the final show of Nach Baliye. From past five months, we have invested our hard work in it. While I love dancing, Jaisheel had a maddening time learning it. But I must admit that he was fabulous and more confident than I was, when he faced the camera. Being an IT professional, it was a completely new thing for him, but he stood by me and gave his best always. All our weekends since last few months were spent dancing.
It has been a romantic experience as I got to spend quality time with him, which was not possible earlier. Once we were so drained after rehearsels that we went to Cloud 9 Hills Resort at Lonavala and had the best time of our lives. I also enjoy Italian food or anything loaded with cheese and also reading, but nothing lengthy. I love thrillers."
